Offering elevated modern American cuisine by Chef Javier Lopez, 71Above boasts breathtaking ocean views from Malibu to Laguna Hills, along with spectacular views of Los Angeles and the surrounding mountain ranges. 71Above is a Michelin level experience featuring the finest ingredients, world-class wine list and craft cocktails. The Restaurant and Skylounge have a Smart Casual dress code. Jackets are not required however, no hats, athletic wear, shorts or flip-flops are allowed. Reservations are held for 15 minutes.

71Above features a 3 course Prix-Fixe menu for dinner only. We kindly ask all dining room guests to participate in the coursed menu. Please be aware, any seating requests are noted, but not guaranteed. WINDOW TABLES ARE NOT GUARANTEED. 18% service charge is added to parties of 6 or more.

Valet is available at 633 W. 5th Street or Self parking is available under the building at 633 W. Hope Place. $18 for 3 hours.

    Enjoy panoramic views of Los Angeles with this reservation for our 3 course prefix menu in our dining room. WINDOW TABLES ARE NOT GUARANTEED for any reason, but will do our best to accommodate requests. No a la carte menu is available in the dining room and we kindly ask all guests to participate in our 3 course, $103.00 per person menu. An 18% service charge is added to all guests checks and is fully distributed to the hourly restaurant staff. A credit card is necessary to reserve the table but will not be charged unless the party late cancels or no shows. Business casual dress code required. No sports wear, flip flops, shorts or ball caps allowed. Children are welcome but we are a fine dining adult atmosphere.

    71Above is definitely “above.” I was fortunate enough to have dinner with my family last Saturday night at 71Above. From top to bottom it was an excellent experience! Naturally, my fear and suspicion in regards to a restaurant in a building’s penthouse is that it will charge for the view and then deliver substandard food. Thankfully, that was not the case at 71Above. The check-in was super smooth, and all seven of us were able to check in at the front desk and take the elevators up to the restaurant as we arrived. Those of us who arrived slightly early had time to wait at the bar, which allowed us to enjoy glasses of Prosecco along with a stunning sunset over Los Angeles. Once we had all arrived, we were promptly seated, and while not directly next to the window, that was not necessary. Every seat in the restaurant has a commanding view, so if you are a “windows only” person that’s just unneeded fuss. We were there for the three course prix fixe meal, and although there were seven of us, everyone felt that the options for all three courses were more than sufficient. As I previously mentioned, the food was fantastic. My steak was absolute perfection as was the grilled octopus appetizer and cheese plate dessert. The service was collectively, top-notch, especially our lead; very professional and personable. In addition, the service was well paced. We were given plenty of time during and between each course, and never felt hurried or rushed. At the end of the evening, everyone was very pleased, sated, and expressed a desire to return for another meal later in the year.

    Das Dreigangmenü ist sehr zu empfehlen, da für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei ist. Der gegrillte Octopus als Vorspeise war mein persönlicher Favorit. Die Qualität der Speisen ist frisch und alles ist aufeinander abgestimmt. Natürlich ist der Ausblick auf LA schon ein Highlight doch mit dem Sonnenuntergang vom 71. Stockwerk war es etwas besonderes. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen und empfehlen das Restaurant gerne weiter.

    The quality of the food is phenomenal. I am saving the 5th star for when I have a truly outstanding experience. It is expensive, but the portions they give you and the dish selection included in the per person pricing is definitely worth it. It feels like you’re getting your money’s worth. The service was fantastic, so much so that we gave our waitress a hug. Seriously, we would go back for the service alone. The ambiance was incredible. Being at the top of the US Bank building right in the middle of Los Angeles, CA is beautiful. Highly recommend requesting a window seat around sunset. Make sure you get there early as it is first come first serve. We were 30 minutes early to our 7:30 reservation and got a great table. Overall: 4/5. Extremely Recommend. Go Out Of Your Way Worthy.

    A classy restaurant reaching towards the sky. Great food that are elegantly presented with an interesting combination of flavors to each dish. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for a romantic dinner (consider yourself lucky if you manage to book a table by the window before sunset.) or just to unwind and relax at the bar.
