I didn't know for could be prepared to taste so delicious. Every course was the best food I've ever had. We enjoyed it more than lot!
I spent my anniversary here. It was my first wedding anniversary. The service was excellent. The food, I have tried better but service excellence matters. It was a prix fixe menu and they were options to have second courses of the first second and third options. For the first course, my husband had the egg dish which tasted exactly like filipino or spanish menudo. We also had the hamachi crudo which was the sane as a sashimi but VERY flavorful. For second course we had steak tartare and the Chitarra pasta. For the third he had new york strip steak and we thought that the New York strip steak which was served medium rare was pretty tough. I had the young chicken which was a bit tough too but delicious. Everything was served BEAUTIFULLY. the service is AMAZING. THEY EVEN GAVE US amuse bouche... champagne free for toasting and a free anniversary dessert. Plus 2 bread appetizers. We were sooooooooo full after.
Had a good experience. The best part is the view. This place offers an almost 360 view of downtown LA. They are strict with the dress code which is a plus. The service was superb. Everyone was nice and helpful. Food was a little above average. But not really “food was awesome I want to go back” kind of thing. It was fancy, yeah but it did not stand out. I have tasted better scallop, better steak, etc. The oysters were good though!!! Got disappointed with their desserts. It was such a random
Mixture of flavors that I really didn’t get to enjoy it. I do not like an orange flavor in my chocolate!
The setting, food, service, and view live up to expectations. The waiter was very helpful. He was actually better than the last waiter we had the last time I was here. I look forward to the next time...
The food was salty and the hostess neglected to seat my business guest with me, so that we each thought the other was running late for over 15 minutes. I think the restaurant is beautiful and the servers were great, but it is overpriced. Will not return for a meal but perhaps for drinks.
Food is very salty but it’s great view. I don’t think it’s valuables.
Great service , great food, great ambiance, great views. All around excellent place to dine.
Delicious food and great views
Horrible service no accommodations view was amazing that’s it
Was interested in a nice lunch and view.
Service and food were great. Love the ambiance. Great location to celebrate.
The main reason to go to 71 Above is the view. The view is simply spectacular. We waited an extra 30 minutes to get a window table and it was worth it. We came at night and it is magical. The menu is confusing and uses endless terms that most people would not understand. The food was interesting but not particularly memorable. It is a fixed price three-course dinner. I had scallops for my entrée. I felt two scallops was awfully skimpy given the price. It is essentially an expense account restaurant. The service was impeccable but I would have trouble justifying the price and going back.
There was a fire drill while dinner and everyone got scared I guess
I did not care for the 18% “service charge” in addition to the standard gratuity. I basically ended up paying a 38% tip. The view was fantastic and the food was good, but not THAT good. The cook on my steak was proper, but it was cold when it got to my table.
What a view, wow
I would expect a restaurant on the top of a skyscraper to be high quality, but this one was outstanding-- totally above and beyond. Unique and delicious gourmet cuisine, impeccable service, and great ambiance. The view was amazing but took a backseat to the restaurant experience itself. Our server Sheree was exceptionally good. It always seems like it's a challenge to receive extraordinary service while still being friendly and natural. Sheree mastered this, and she did it all in a seemingly effortless way. I'm sure everyone working here is great, but I'll be requesting Sheree! I've lived in DTLA for seven years and this was my first time to 71Above, and now I'll be a regular. Really, really well done!
Would not go here for the food, but would definitely come here again for drinks and the view
Amazing views with good to match. It is expensive, but definitely worth it for the most part. Had the Wagyu beer for an additional price over the price fix and was outstanding. Oysters and octopus were pretty good too.
71Above was amazing. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary last night and everything about 71Above impressed us.
From the decor to the great customer service,to the delicious food.
We will definitely be back. This place is a must if in the area. Even if not.
The food was ok. The view and service was great
The whole experience was fabulous! Expensive, but worth it for a special occasion!
The only thing great about the place was the view. The food was just ok and I don’t think worth the price paid. It’s one of those places you go once.
Amazing service, amazing view, and delicious food!!
The place is not what I expected. The food was not that good the steak I ordered is tough. We served a window table and gave us the middle one. We were on the waiting list for the window table once it’s opens up. We were there until from 7:30pm until 10pm to find out we were not on the waitlist. Only when we complained that’s when they transferred us. Anyway I’m not coming back here anymore.
Great food with obviously incredible views. The chef did an incredible job with the three courses I selected: tomato, honey nut squash & cauliflower. The presentation was amazing and tastes were so eclectic I felt like I was in heaven. I wish there was a designated area for photos.
Service seemed off this night. I have been several times before and would have rated 5 star but this time our waters were not refilled without us having to request. I had to ask for silverware as they removed it with a fish but did not replace. Food was just ok and didn’t feel our server had much enthusiasm and did not check on us much.
Very good restaurant. All workers were very professional. The bar was outstanding. The view was beautiful.
Service was Great ! Our meal was very tasty. The meal was worth every dollar.
Food is delicious and service is top notch. And you can’t beat the view.
Mediocre . No outside seating .
Great food, great service.
It was a great place to come to visit with my team. Great view! Recommend to come at night ! Food was amazing and service was good. Would definitely come back.
But the food was OK.
Ambience and city view is definitely the most outstanding qualities of this restaurant. Food is mediocre, have had better elsewhere for cheaper price.
The view is the beat, but the food taste doesn’t stay in the same level
Extremely upscale, captivating city views with comfortably designed dining areas. The staff were organized and waiters were up to standard. Menu was filled with superb tasting items. Portions are on the smaller size. The cost to eat here is priced on the high end as expected. I would recommend this place if you can afford it. I will go again.
Good food, great service
Incredible restaurant with impeccable service
