   At there two nights in a row. First night was incredible which is why we returned. Second night was disappointing. Service was poor. Main course was cold. May return but not sure due to a bad experience.

   We were pleasantly surprised to find this elegant restaurant. Honestly, we had not done much investigation, so we had no expectations. The food and service were superior. Our only regret is that we couldn't dine more leisurely since we had theater tickets. We'll be back.

   Very good food, very good service, good ambiance. Among the appetizers: Broiled scallops and quail were specially good. Good entree : Roasted turbo. Good Dessert : Buckwheat puff pastry. Location is great for having dinners before Broadway plays or after a Broadway matinee show. Good wine list but on the expensive side

   I dined this restaurant twice, both time food was excellent, so as service, ambiance. My only problem was I booked party of five 4 weeks in advance. I only could book 6:45PM, but the restaurant was nearly empty by at least by 7:30. Menu was reasonably priced. The wine list was good and glass choice was superb as well, but I hope they will have more $80 to $100 wine. We paid about $250 for each with tip and tax, we had 3 bottles of wine. This is not bad for what we experienced. But I like to feel more NY vibe in the restaurant. I think 701 West should work with booking system with open table.

   There is fine dining and then there is 701 West dining. The entire experience from when we got to the restaurant till when we left was just unbelievably amazing. Thank you for making my date special. Will most definitely come back.

    I saw 701 West listed in Time out New York most romantic restaurants. So I thought I’d give it a try with my girlfriend on Valentine’s Day weekend. Could be my smartest move ever. I thought the restaurant was excellent. She is still talking about it and telling all her friends. That makes 701 West one of my all-time best restaurants

    3 course tasting menu with wine optional pairing. A nice selection to choose from including several appealing vegetarian dishes. Chose the shrimp and scallops appetizer, the venison entree, and Roasted Pecan Crémeux for dessert - all were excellent The dinner rolls were outstanding. Artful and tasty amuse bouche. Wine pairing was innovative and covered all the dishes including the amuse bouche. Portion size was perfect in my view - not too big so I could enjoy it without feeling stuffed.

    The food was amazing and our waitress was always making sure we had everything we needed. The bread is so yummy! I had to stop myself when they offered us more because I wanted to eat everything. We would definitely go back.

    We had a wonderful experience! We made a reservation ahead of seeing a show, and the staff were very diligent and attentive to ensure we'd be finished in time to make our show. One of my favorite parts of this place is their "amuse cocktail." I've had plenty of amuse bouche over the years, but I've never been offered an amuse-cocktail anywhere else. It's a fun touch! Everything I tasted was delicious, and I would definitely return.

    what a wonderful night we had at 701 west....A beautiful space, regal setting with velour and wood everywhere, and spacious and comfortable...The three course menu was superb, from the lobster to the scallop appetizer to the lamb, and we went for the wine pairings which were also just wonderful..Our server/sommelier Emma was outstanding, as was all the staff, who made us feel welcome and comfortable... great spot...it deserved it's three star rating from the times...

    The service was great and we appreciated the extra small cocktail provided at the bar and also the wine at the table. The waitress was very knowledgable and helpful with the menu and drinks. She was able to find a bottle of Brachetto that wasn't on the "by glass" menu.

    The restaurant was a little hard to find since it is on the 11th floor of a hotel. Once inside the ambience was very nice. The wait staff were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. The bread melted in your mouth. Each of the three course meal had multiple choices. Our group enjoyed 4 selections from each course. If you have more than two people, get as many selections as you can and share. The flavors were outstanding. Each dish was prepared perfectly. I recommend the lamb and the duck especially. Also the onion rings that came with the Wagyu beef were excellent as was the beef itself. The tuna tartare was an excellent preparation with an exquisite tartness. Definitely a restaurant we will visit again.

    A surprisingly wonderful spot in the heart of Time Square. I always struggle with where to eat in the area and this is a gem. Elegant, gracious, with delicious food. The service was fluid, the dining experience had generous surprises and the wines were top drawer. The side dishes were a standout while my fluke would have benefitted from a sauce... it was a bit bland. The dessert were simply amazing. I highly recommend this dining experience if you can afford it. It is a very good value

    I need to be moved to leave a review. 701West pegged all the right meters. This place does everything right. You could tell someone sweated the details. The service was impeccable. The food was surprising and original. Not to mention wonderfully light and tasty, my perfect recipe. Stop me if I’m being too gushing, but I’m going to go to Far and say that this place is colossal.     701West is one of the best fine dining experiences I have had in recent memory. The room is simple, elegant and beautiful. The food and service, impeccable.     Special occasion mainly. Food good although the amuse bouche was only for lovers of roe. Pricey but certainly a welcome addition to the culinary desert of the theater district.
