6Smith Ratings and Reviews
We've eaten here many times, had 2 corporate events (with meals) here and it's always been on point. Everything is good, even the smallest, incidental thing you have will be tasty. The wait staff is attentive and fun (Mel's awesome!) and they keep things moving. Generally the food comes fairly quickly, even if they're busy and I've brought people from Italy, S. Africa, Switzerland, France and Germany and they all have loved, and commented on, the food.
I can say that oysters always seem to be fresh and I've had great (amazing) meat there.
On the downside it can be loud, and since it's good it's frequently full. If you get a table against the windows you can have a conversation or the big tables in the back by the kitchen, otherwise you might yell, I don't mind but some do.
Bartenders are cool and don't skimp, it's not cheap by any stretch of the imagination- if you get wine and an appetizer you aren't walking out for less than a couple hundred bucks but I've never felt it wasn't worth it.
We've tied up there with our boat in the summer and that's worked out well too.
It's a fantastic spot in the summer when you can be outside, amazing view, sunny patio.
We haven't been on the roof but everyone says that's even better.
It's fairly easy to get to from the 101 exit off 12 west- a short ways past the 494.
Great place for a special night, they'll make it feel special.
The food was great. Service was super fast for how busy it was. We got the cookie crumble, which was so big my husband is still eating it three days later. The price was reasonable for a special night out and overall it was a super fun "warehouse" atmosphere.
Only one small issue. I asked if I could have both fries and Cole slaw and waiter said sure. When the bill came I was charged $9 for fries. Seems pretty petty when you pay $16 for a burger. Right thing to do would have been to include the fries as the side and throw in the coleslaw. Glad we didn’t get charged for trading white napkins for black. Food was very good. Charging for the fries was manipulative. If anything, should have included fries as my side and charged a few bucks for the coleslaw. But they reversed the order, use the slaw as the side in order to charge more.
If you're going to spend this kind of cash, go to Manny's or the Capital Grille. Their Filet and Sea bass were incredibly average for the price. Service at a higher end place (like Manny's or Capital Grille) blows this away. They charge the prices they do because the Wayzata crowd will pay it, but the price does not match the quality. I'd go here for a burger and a beer next time and save some dough because the atmosphere is quite fun.
Everything was good. Our order took a long time, but the server was very nice and took the appetizer off of our bill since the food took so long. Given the gesture with the appetizer, it’s hard to knock them when everything else was very good. I’d go back for sure.
First time guest, will certainly return, looking forward to sitting outside lakeside during the summer. Hostess(s), bar staff, wait staff were all friendly and professional. Drinks and meal arrived promptly and the preparations and tastes were perfect. Venison/Kobe Burger was the best burger I've had in some time.
The service was exceptional. We didn't mention that we were there for birthdays but the hostess saw the gift bags and asked proactively. There was confetti on the table when they seated us. And once they realized (without us telling them) that we were celebrating multiple birthdays, they brought out 2 complementary birthday desserts to share that were very good and very large! The wait staff was incredible!
It was a wonderful experience! We had to wait a couple minutes for our table and were pleasantly surprised by the Chef hand passing delicious tapas as we stood by the bar. One of our party was celebrating a birthday and when we go to the table is was decorated with brightly colored confetti and a $15 gift certificate to the birthday boy on his next visit. The server was prompt, energetic and very knowledgeable about the menu. We ended our meal with a free birthday dessert.
I would go back in a heart beat and highly recommend it!
