   First time going to 69 Prime and it won’t be my last. The bone end ribeye was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful. The sautéed spinach was delicious as well as the caesar salad. It’s great to have a delicious quality steakhouse in the southern suburbs.

   Second time here. Everyone in our party of four thoroughly enjoyed our meals from cocktails to entrees to desserts. Attentive service. Expensive, but well worth it for a special occasion or if you just want to splurge and pamper yourself.

   So my husband and I tried 69 prime for the first time tonight. The food was delicious and the presentation was amazing. I enjoyed the avocado salad as a starter and had the scallops as my entree . My husband had a ribeye steak with fries. For dessert we had the Italian butter cake and the apple tart with gelato. The only downside to our evening was the slow service from our server. The drinks are good but We ordered wine with our dinner and never received it. It’s a new restaurant so I am sure they are still working out the kinks and are still getting settled in. They may need to hire more help for more efficient service. We will definitely give them a second chance.

   Best carpaccio and filet mignon ever! And that means from chefs in Europe and South America. Loved every bite!

   There was work underway with the ejector system that resulted in an unpleasant smell in the reception area. Also, as a result of the work being done the restaurant the temperature in the restaurant was warm. Other than what I just mentioned I thought the experience was good,

   We went out to dinner Easter and the quality of the overall service could have been better. We had to request items like more water and bread. It took a long time to get additional bread and when the person brought out the bread, I had to ask him to remove other items from the table. I ordered a side of asparagus, and it didn't come out with my entree. After waiting for our server to return, I canceled the order because I had to wait so long. My food was ok, but I wouldn't order the Branzino alla Verdure again. My husband enjoyed his Prime Bone in Ribeye. Though our server, Jeremy was nice, I had to ask for more water, what the delay was with the bread and why I never received my side dish. I didn't like that the tip was already included because often the service isn't as good knowing you don't have to work for it. I often exceed recommended tip allowances when service is exceedingly well done.

   The food was good. My husband had the Wagyu ribeye. I had the lamb chops, my son had the wagyu skirt steak and my daughter had salad with grilled salmon and lobster mac and cheese. My only challenge with this restaurant is their selective decision to split checks. I was told splitting a check is at the discretion of the server. The decision is not dictated by any policy so that it is consistent. I was told by my server that for larger parties he would consider it but not for a party of 4. I inquired about what is considered a large enough party to accommodate a customer’s request. The server’s response was ‘it depends.’ This restaurant also automatically adds an 18% gratuity. Most places do that when the party is 5 or more. Apparently, we didn’t meet my server’s criteria for a separated check but did for the gratuity. I added to the gratuity to get it to 20% not because I got great service, only out of habit. My server wasn’t great. He had to be reminded of things like refills, bread replenishing etc. This restaurant also charges 3% if you use a credit card. Our bill was approximately $460. To sum it up, the food was decent, the service was less than desirable. As good as the food was, the experience overall left a bad taste in my mouth.

    There is a terrible smell/stench in the lobby of the hotel that at times drifts into the restaurant. The food was decent. Great steak restaurant in the neighborhood.
