Welcome to 637 Philly Sushi Club — an 8-seat omakase theater hidden behind a bookshelf in Northern Liberties.
Open just three nights a week, this intimate experience is hosted by Chef Kevin Yanaga, a.k.a. The Philly Sushi Whisperer.
This isn’t just dinner. It’s Yanaga Theater — a 20+ course sushi journey told one piece at a time.
Expect dishes like the Japanese deviled egg with toro tartare, hand-pressed bozushi, and our signature black cod hand roll, all prepared and served as part of a carefully choreographed progression.
There are no substitutions, no menu, no compromises — just surrender to the rhythm of the night.

Performances run Thursday to Saturday. Seats are extremely limited.
Come curious. Leave transformed.

This omakase was a beautiful journey full of heart, flavor, and beauty. We found the menu to be creative, well balanced, indulgent, and yet faithful to the ingredients at the heart of the experience. There were too many highlights to list here, but this was exactly what we were looking for - decadent and celebratory but not pretentious. The service was stellar! Sincere, available, unintrusive, and knowledgeable. A extra special component was the 7 course sake pairing. As someone who buys (and drinks 😸) a love of sake, it's pretty rare to encounter such a well thought out set of sake selections that you won't find everywhere else. A special night that my wife and I are still talking about.

Chef Kevin and his waiter were awesome. We were the only ones there and it made my daughter’s birthday that much more special. Everything tasted delicious and we appreciated the explanations/descriptions for each dish. His parting gifts were also very appreciated and thoughtful. We had a wonderful time!

This was the best experience we’ve ever had. Chef Kevin was amazing and the omakase was out of this world. The speakeasy aspect of it being beyond a bookcase only added to the experience and made it that much cooler. My husband said it was the best birthday dinner!

Be ready for a big surprise right before you're taken to the Omakase room. Once inside, the intimate space reveals a unique experience with impeccably fresh fish, and a unique collection of memorabilia on the walls. While prices reflect the premium experience, the attentive service and unexpected flavors make this speakeasy-style sushi spot worth seeking out for special occasions.
