Will NEVER dine here again...which is a terrible shame as we loved this place up until this evening and were considering to rent their private room for our baby shower...not anymore!
In addition I strongly advise open table dinners to be cautious of this restarting when it comes to points or dinning credit from accumulated points.
Below are the details that turned our once favorite restaurant into our biggest disappointment!
Up to this evenings dinner, my family and I loved this restaurant frequenting it very regularly and placing it at our favorite place to go for dinner. However, this evenings mess has ended our enjoyment of this restaurant forever!
As usual the greeting was friendly, our waitress Clare M was outstanding and the food was fantastic.
It wasn’t until we received the bill and tried to use our $25 open table points reward card did the entire evening turn into an unmitigated disaster immediately.
First the waitress said the information on the gift card would not go through so she sent over the manager Anthony.
Anthony had an immediate attitude. He comes over, sits down and starts by saying that they didn’t participate with open table. When I showed him the app and their listing he then changed and said that their system doesn’t work with open tables reward system. At which point we challenged that statement. “How could you be listed here in the system as well as how could I have made the reservations if you didn’t participate with the system and program?”. He then said “he would do us a favor” and provide us with “a credit” as he didn’t have time to explain how things worked on his end.
At this point and time we were feed up and tired and just wanted to leave. When the waitress returned and apologized for everything we looked at our bill and it was still wrong...at this point we just paid and left...very unhappy and disappointed.
Open table participants use caution with this restaurant and be observant so you don’t have the same issues
Looking forward to going again. Nice variety of food: salads, burgers, sandwiches, or a full dinner. It all looks very good. We had a salad and the chicken satay...yum! Service was great. Fun drink suggestions. A little loud though.
Food was good but limited selections for vegetarians. Waitress was very busy. We needed to ask for water refills. Waitress made an error with entering our credit card. It created a significant delay without explanation. We had to seek her out to find out what was causing the delay. The manager could have been more receptive to the inquiry.
I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance and quality of the food. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and plan to return often.
Too much noise and the interior was dated, worn and needing repair. Had to leave it was that poor.
Friendly atmosphere had to wait about 20 mins for table but no biggie- great menu and good came up quickly and was nice and hot- good value, good food and drinks all evening
Nice atmosphere, friendly wait staff and food was delicious. Nice variety of entrees to choose from.
We split the lamb shank. It was excellent, we both ate from it and still had leftovers! Other in our party had salads which they said were very good. Another had the Reuben, which she said was good.
We waited over an hour just for water... and almost two hours for bread.... the food was delicious but the service was not the greatest!
Very good food (good flavor, decent size), quick service (slightly slow at the beginning), my only comment is related to how many options (dessert) are available, otherwise great place for dinner!
I requested a quieter area with a round table and that's exactly what we had by the fireplace as well!! Truly a very nice dining experience and the food was wonderful!
Expected more. The waitress was so-so at best. Leaning on the table when taking the order is unprofessional to say the least. The maître d' was disinterested and sulky looking, she should learn to say hello and goodbye. Then learn how to smile. The bathrooms were nasty.
The food was good, but everything around that ... failed.
Gove this place a miss.
service was very friendly and attentive, food was awesome, had salmon
Food was excellent so was the service.
Love the special values on Monday evenings! What a good buy to get delicious and fresh salmon salads for $8 plus beverage. You will see us again soon.
5th Tavern has a lovely mix a bar food as well as some more heartier entrees. The ribs are ridiculously outstanding and plenty enough to share. That old standard Caesar salad had great flavor, and both people who ordered it commented on how it had the perfect balance of ingredients on the dressing. And the icing on the cake was our server Andrea, who was a delight and played along with our goofiness
Buffet not ready for diners at time of reservation. Only one server for made to order omelettes and carving station, lackadaisical at best. Hot food generally only warm. Food mostly very salty. Desserts looked store bought. MANY floor servers, mostly very attentive.
Had to wait for our waitress. She had the entire section by the wall that goes to the outside patio. Otherwise the food was amazing. Loved the lobster grilled cheese and tomato/asparagus bisque. Our 10 year old loved cooking his own Rok sirloin.
All around good experience with our table of six. We enjoyed the live music too. Entertaining without being too loud. Everyone had a great time!”
I was somewhat disappointed. Ordered the white fish with two sides. Food was lukewarm, rice was dry, and green beans were under cooked.
Colleagues and I met at 5th Tavern for lunch. Unfortunately for the restaurant, they lost power and their cable access right after we arrived. The kitchen could not prepare cooked foods and patrons in the bar area could not see their favorite teams compete. However, and fortunately for the restaurant, the 5th Tavern wait staff continued to provide great service with smiles and a good sense of humor.
The restaurant ownership should be proud of their staff!
All the brunch food was excellent and so was the service. We will definitely be back!
Nice restsurant, excellent service and good food. A bit loud if you’re hoping for easy conversation. Avoid being sat in the back room in the north east corner of the restaurant. The ambiance in that room is not nearly as nice as the rest of the restaurant. It is kind of like being relegated to the children’s table for Thanksgiving dinner.
Much too noisy. Could not hear any conversation at our table.
Our table was right next to the saxophone and bongo player.
The BEST Sunday Brunch menu/selections i've ever had for the price! My only complaint was that I thought that the unlimited mimosa's were included in the price of the brunch. The wait staff was awesome, the hostess that greeted me not so much. When I arrived I asked had my guest arrived yet - I reserved a table for 3 and she told me to just go look around, instead of escorting me to my reserved table. Other than that, I had a great experience and it was my first time dining at 5th Tavern.
The food was great and our waitress was amazing!! We will be back. ;0)
Was visiting from Louisville, Kentucky and this place was fantastic!!
The entire space was filled with happy conversations and laughter. Th background hummed with a sweet sax. We had a very fine time, and plan to return.
As always, the food was excellent! The menu has a nice food selection for everyone's palate...
Salmon was fatty and not cooked through like I asked. The salmon salad had weird lettuce like little trees that were not tasty. 1/2 my meal was uneaten and the waiter didn’t even ask about it. My partner, didn’t eat hers either.
The food was good but the restaurant was super crowded which affects the dining experience at a brunch buffet. I dined on a Sunday at 12:30. I’ve gone other times and had nicer, less crowded experiences.
We were referred from a friend to try your brunch. She said it was great. Recommended to make a reservation so we did at 10am. We were second to be seated which was great but we were the last of 8 tables that were sat to even be approached. We sat for 10-15 minutes before the waitress came to our table. The food was good but the biscuits and gravy was cold and so was the French toast. I will give it another try but if I make a reservation I dont feel I should have to wait 15 minutes for a waitress and people that came after me are waited on first.
Gal pal and I shared a ribeye steak on the rock -- good but not as good as Black Rock!!! Restaurant was a little noisy for us; but nice interior and other items on the menu were interesting. Will probably go back and try something else next time!
The only thing is I believe either the waitress had to many big parties or she was new. She didn’t check on us often and was very forgetful.
The food and everything else was awesome
Wonderful evening with Great live music. Loved it. Service was impeccable, Food was served piping hot.
Our server was nice, but wasn't overly helpful. The food was really good and the atmosphere was relaxing and enjoyable.
Great service...quality of food somewhat disappointing
It’s a comfortable place and close to home. The food is good too!
was so excited to eat at 5th Tavern on Saturday at 6pm. We sat for at least 10 min before our waiter came to the table to ask if we wanted water. :( we didn't even have drink menus on the table. He was overwhelmed and didn't seem to be able to handle the tables he was covering. He tried really hard but it was disappointing. Had to ask the table next to us for a drink menu, had to ask to take our order for appetizers then he took our order for our drinks. Had to remind him to take our dinner order and bring us plates for the appetizer. He charged us extra for "sharing" a meal. the extra plate that he never brought. It was overwhelmingly loud and then a violin player started playing.
First time for my wife and I. Very impressed. Loved the food and atmosphere.
