Fabulous meal during Restaurant week. Salmon was cooked perfectly. My husband enjoyed the chicken. Service was great and we would return again.
Awesome meal before the Celine Dion concert! Love that they gave you the option to order off of the regular menu or the restaurant week menu and not just offering the restaurant week menu. Always the best service and food! We sat at the bar this time and Rory was excellent!
Wonderful restaurant with beautiful eclectic atmosphere !!! The food and service were fabulous.
Terrific food, service, and atmosphere!
There’s a lot to love about 5Church. From the thoughtfully crafted menu to the attentive service to the laid back but chic atmosphere, it truly hits the mark. You won’t regret choosing to dine with them. And you will be doing yourself a grave disservice if you don’t order the sushi tots!
Fabulous food, service, and decor! What more could you want! We will be back...with friends!
Ive noticed restaurants participating in restaurant week are starting to charge an upcharge on certain menu items that they are including in the special menu. The purpose of restaurant week is to get new people out to try your restaurant at a good value. I spent more tonight than I would have had it not been restaurant week.
We loved everything about our experience at 5Church! The only request we would've made was for more light so we could see our food and the menu better. Besides that, everything was very enjoyable.
Our party had reservations for a Sunday brunch and the place was certainly lively. However, it was difficult at times to hear each other as we conversed. Our waiter could not seem to remember the flavors for the mimosa flight and was slow to serve coffee and hot tea. When the tea was refilled, the water was lukewarm and not piping hot. In a party of four, two members’ entrees were given to another table while the remaining two were served correctly. The mistake was quickly rectified but the food was not piping hot either and the egg omelet was dry. Improvement is definitely needed.
We used the fact that it was Queen’s Feast to celebrate my daughter’s birthday! As expected, it was crazy busy and loud, but we were seated within a few minutes of our reservation time, and everything was wonderful. Our server, Samantha, was outstanding - recommending a great wine bottle and keeping the experience moving without being overly attentive. She was also kid-friendly to our two littler ones, which was welcome given that our reservation was a bit on the lager side, and the restaurant was mostly filled with adults. The food was, of course, amazing as always. Chef Jaimie puts out great food - we had the meatballs, sushi tots, and mushroom flatbread, along with the filet, the salmon, and the sea bass - all sublime! 5Church is an awesome place for great food and cocktails! Check it out!
Lucked into a restaurant week reservation - the sushi tots were out of this world! Dessert was nothing special so would not get on a return visit but app and entre were tasty. Very cool atmosphere and good service, would make a return trip when visiting Charlotte.
Thought the food was over priced for what you received
My family and I enjoyed a wonderful Brunch celebrating my daughters birthday. The relaxed atmosphere was perfect! Honestly, every dish was exquisitely prepared and presented!
My fiance & I were very disappointed in our experience. We have been to 5th Church 3 times & most likely will not be back. We had brunch on Saturday & a reservation at 12:30p.m. We sat the bar. The bartenders we not personable at all. Barely spoke to us. I ordered the lobster roll & my fiance ordered shrimp & grits. The lobster roll was one of the worst I tasted. For $25.00 you got a small baguette with a cold lobster mix, that had no taste, along with hard potatoes. My fiance's shrimp & grits were cold. Needless to say he ate it because he was hungry. The bartenders didn't ask about our meal or even if we needed anything. We were going to bring family back for restaurant week but will go to another restaurant. Terrible food & bad service!
Had a great time. Had a great server and vibes were great
We went there on Friday night for a date night and honestly we couldn’t hear a word that was said there. This has less to do with 5Church in more to do with the people that were eating near us but the ambience was very noisy overall
Horrible service! Overpriced for such a poorly run restaurant. Would never go back.
We came here for restaurant week with friends. I had the tuna tots and lamb burger. Both were delicious. Special kudos on the lamb burger because I've had others elsewhere and the lamb patties have been tough. We also tried the meatball appetizer, which was yummy. Everyone enjoyed their food. The restaurant can be loud so it's not the best place for when you want to have a quiet conversation. Our server was attentive enough but we never felt like we were being rushed along even though they were busy.
Great service. Nice vibe. Good cocktails. We went for restaurant week. Good appetizers and dessert but fish entree wasn’t good at all and was cold when served. Also fried green tomatoes were just hard. I realize this could be due to restaurant week so I’d love to go back at another time.
The interior of the restaurant is beautiful-very eclectic. We had to climb stairs to get to our table which made me a little nervous. Our server was very attentive and prompt. After all the rave reviews for this place I was disappointed with the food. Our low-country seafood appetizer was tasty but small. My lamb burger was just okay, with the bottom bun being soggy. And the fries were very salty! My husband had the sixty-second steak which he enjoyed but it was a bit small for the price.
This is an excellent place for lunch. It's much busier in the happy hour and dinner crowd; lunch is much quieter. The menu has good variety and excellent vegetarian choices.
Great spot for Sunday brunch. Food was very good and presented on the plate very attractively. Great ambience and atmosphere. Just downtown with a view to a park. A little pricey but worth it. I wish I stayed around for dinner.
the food was awesome. with the exception of the Salmon....it top was so hard, the fork or knife could NOT cut through it and although i expected it to be seared it was burned and it ruined the taste of my salmon and my dinner...for a whopping $110 dinner, i'd love my salmon to be perfect. i was disappointed to say the least. it took so long to get the food I was terrified to send it back!
Much better places to spend your money on a nice meal. Restaurant seems to want to cater to a hip crowd willing to pay high prices regardless of quality.
This was one of the best dining experiences we have had in Uptown Charlotte! It was a bit pricey, but our server, Gabriel, was phenomenal! He made excellent suggestions from the menu, provided impeccable service, and was very personable! The cocktails were wonderful and the food exceptional. Definitely try the Ahi Tuna Sushi Tots. We will be back!
Great place. Food was on point. Service was as well
Nicole is a wonderful waitress. She’s very efficient and attentive. The food was wonderful. Appetizer, dinner and dessert. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be returning.
Lobster was okay, certainly not the best I've had. Extra charge for hummus as a side was a bit extreme given that it's listed as side under all of the others and it wasn't particularly good.
Excellent food and great service from Brendan. A cullinary feast.
Food was great, service was great, Kaylen was excellent!
We had very good friends that are business colleagues in town for one night only. We wanted to take them to a nice and upscale dinner. The server appeared inexperienced, but was pleasant. The music continued to get louder and louder. It was a cold and windy night and our table of eight was put near the door which made it cold and uncomfortable. Overall the food was good and came out hot considering how many dishes there were. Not exactly the upscale experience we were looking for, so we were a little disappointed with this dining experience.
Had a great time and great food, we loved the sushi tots. Brittney gave us excellent service.
Did my research but this place was just incredibly average. Food was just basic and nothing stood out. First time posting a negative review but this is more hype than good food.
Great brunch — was able to seat us earlier than our reservation time which helped — all people enjoyed their entrees
Absolutely the best brunch spot! Right in downtown. Menu was spot on, the ambiance was perfect to start the new year off with my lovely lady and our friends. Great service!
Oh my gosh. Everything was stellar for our New Year’s Eve dinner. Bravo 5 Church!
Not on New Years Eve. Portions were so small, hubby had to stop for takeout before we got home. He was still hungry!
Went for NYE dinner and it was a fixed menu, horrible food for the crazy outrageous price. Waitress and atmosphere was fine but otherwise a complete rip off. Would like to know if regularly it is good food on their usual menu but we were extremely disappointed in for NYE so probably will never go back.
The restaurant vibe is dark and trendy, open with funky design elements. The menu selection is limited but inventive. The quality of the food is mixed — the tuna sushi tots were one of the best things I’ve ever eaten but the “60-second” NY strip was only okay. I liked the unique preparation and the seasoning on the steak was very good, but the meat itself didn’t impress me at all. The dessert special, hot chocolate cake, was decent but not really better than what you might get at a chain restaurant. The fries (which I didn’t actually order) were good but again nothing special. The scallops were very good but the smashed potatoes were a little bland and boring on the side.
Service was awful - I believe they were short-staffed. Our server was friendly and attentive when he was around, but the last half of our meal we rarely saw him. I got the wrong side with my meal and was promised it would be corrected...but the correct side never came.
I’d recommend going here only for sushi tots and maybe a cocktail. I don’t mind paying top dollar for a fine meal, but the quality of the food as a whole doesn’t measure up to the price tag.
Beautiful restaurant with great food and service.
