Great ambiance. Low food and drink prices. Brunch menu is simple with few choices.
Ate at the bar. Female bartender was slow & extremely inattentive!!!! Husband had egg sandwich & I had the burger. Took forever to get the food & again forever to get condiments. We order a drinks then a bottle of wine... again forever. We poured our own wine. Bartender appeared not to want to be there. Never checked on other customers at the bar either.
Wow! Excellent food, service and fun well crafted drinks ! We went for Brunch and are looking forward to going back for dinner !
Great food and service. Was there with family and had a great time.
We arrived for our 7:45 appt at 7:30. There were a few two person tables available, but the manager was determined that we would be waiting until 7:45 to be seated (yes we were finally seated in one of those available tables). The BEST part about the night was our waiter, Brandon H. I ordered unsweetened tea with a side of sweetener and not only did he bring the initial sweetener (which at least 95% of waiters and waitresses forget until I remind them once or twice more), but he remembered each time I needed a refill. That was about the highlight of the night.
The place is cool, but it’s sound volume is out of control. My wife and I were literally yelling at each other to be able to hear, and we could still barely hear each other. Next, the calamari was actually out quickly and was good, although the potion size was very small. We could have easily had one order each. We ordered our dinner at the time the appetizer was order at about 5 till 8. After the app, we proceeded to sit and wait for the next 40 minutes. 40 minutes for scallops and a burger! Absolutely ridiculous. Brandon was extremely apologetic during those last 20 minutes or so, but when the manager came over and asked how we were, he said nothing about the wait. I commented to him about how great Brandon was, but didn’t understand the wait. He made no comment and walked off. Still took another 15 min for the food to arrive, only for it to be cold. How’s that even possible?
Anyway, Brandon took the appetizer off the bill and apologized profusely. I tipped him well, but honestly we will never go back. Cold food, that was good at best, not great which we expected (and keep in mind we both travel about 80% of the time for business, so we know good food when we get it), beyond loud to he point of obnoxious, and then having to wait for the food for that long...no thanks. Cool looking place, and otherwise nice atmosphere, but it’s more like a dance club than a restaurant.
Great place to reconnect with friends. Bar and food totally delicious. The filet was magnificent!
Food is wonderful. The NY strip specialty was very good.
Service was great.....kudos to Patrick.
The decor and Art of War on the ceiling was unique.
The only downside was the noise level. Difficult to have a conversation without yelling.
Ate the 60 second steak friday night and 48 hours later i am still sick. Flew out of Charlotte Saturday and eating there has altered my vacations plans drastically. Will not go back.
We were greeted and seated as soon as we arrived. The hostess and waiter were friendly. Unfortunately, the food was not what we expected. We ordered the burrata and tomato salad which would have been good had it not been swimming in the dressing. The chicken flatbread was a complete disappointment. It had 6 - 8 very small pieces of chicken in total and a little arugula and red onion. After the first bite or two, there was just flatbread. Definitely, not worth $17.
Heard good things about this place and everyone was right! Great steak wine and desserts
Food and service were top notch. Taste and cooked as ordered was perfect. They didn't have the dessert we wanted, but quickly replaced it with a complimentary one. Handled perfectly without us having to ask. That means the world to me when it comes to service. Stuff happens, but how the staff handles it is more important. I have already recommended them to friends.
Atmosphere is cool but food, service, and experience do not match with the price point.
sushi. tots. holy. cow. that's it. - that's the review.
UPSIDE = Taste and preparation were good but not great.
DOWNSIDE = Way overpriced. Our waiter recommended lobster to go with my meal but it was literally two bites...no exaggeration. They sat us in a balcony area meant for two tables but there were three tables AND a large DJ booth. We had to ask other guests to move whenever we went to the bathroom. Finally, the men's bathroom was absolutely disgusting. Peeling laminate dividers next to the urinals and stains on the floor. I've been in nicer Walmart bathrooms.
Excellent food and service
Great early dinner with my husband at 5 Church. The food was phenomenal, our waiter was on point and the atmosphere was super laid back but with a trendy backdrop. We enjoyed the entire experience.
We came for brunch and the food was outstanding. If you like grits, you’ve got to get the grits at 5Church. I had cheese grits, which came out in a little silver tray, with a layer of baked cheese on top. WOW, so good!
It was insanely crowded due to a concert that night. Got seated for our reservation but then our waiter chatted with the larger tables forever and it took 35 minutes to get our cocktails. It was absurd. Manager finally came over and got our drinks. They comped the drinks and discounted the meal but the evening was a bust for sure. The waiter blamed the bar staff for the long wait but we watched other tables who arrived after us get their drinks. It was evident he failed to even put of drinks in and couldn’t fess up. At the end he admitted the restaurant had bitten off more than they could chew due to the over crowded bar, packed restaurant and the sheer loudness of the place.
Service was the best I’ve ever had! Food and atmosphere were amazing! Recommend to all friends!
Great food and atmosphere!
At the beginning we were a little frustrated bc the wait staff couldn’t find a drink menu for almost 15 minutes. Other than that we really enjoyed it.
Good spot. Nice food. I went on a Monday lunch hour, very few people were there. The service was good. I would go back.
Server was not well trained, she did her best, but it was evident she had not been trained properly.
I had the crab cakes with poached eggs. It was more bread than crab. In fact I had a hard time tasting any crab meat whatsoever. Disappointing.
Great place to eat
Thank you! Please join us again soon!
Had two different wait staff serving us and both were quite lackadaisical at best. My steak was amazing, and love the wine jus. My gf got chicken flatbread, and the chicken was super hard.
I am a frequent customer and I always tell my friends about 5Church. Last Wednesday, when I invited 2 of my friends, they said they will be back. Again, thank you for your friendly hospitality and wonderful food. Please trust and know that I will return soon.
Hi! Thank you so much for dining with us. We look forward to your future visits with us. Cheers!
Excellent food, great vibe, excellent service and look forward to visiting again when I’m back in town
One of my favorite brunch spots, only thing I would change is the French toast. They literally give you one big piece, which doesn’t seem right for the price.
It was just a Great all around experience. Food and service was Great!!!
Food is good, but not great. Plating could use some work and the menu lacks more well-rounded staples such as eggs benedict. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves but walked away feeling like it could have been so much better.
We had an reservation for 8:45 arrived on time wasn’t seat until 9:05. The ambience and service were good. Steak was lacking in flavor presentation of food was excellent.
Came during restaurant week, watermelon salad and sushi tots were amazing as well as our scallops and filet. Our waitress, Maddie was amazing. Definitely recused definitely recommend getting a reservation.
I have enjoyed many prior visits to 5Church and was really excited to introduce my friends and family to the restaurant for Queen's feast. However, this trip was below the usual standard I expect from 5Church. We made a reservation for 6 people at 7:15 and we were not sat until an hour later. We were first told 10-15 mins and it took an hour.
The food was delicious as always but my dessert order was wrong. I know serving a large group is difficult, but it felt like we were low priority, particularly because we were there for restaurant week. This behavior leads me to not want to bring clients and partners to dine here any longer. Every customer should receive that same level of quality service and I didn't feel 5Church executed on this point during our visit.
Food was excellent and couldn't fault the service. Not sure we'd go again in Restaurant week as it was crazy busy and we were told to wait and go to another bar and have a drink and wait to be called...which we weren't. Returned 25 mins later and they gave us a table after complaining.
Food was outstanding and service was very good for as busy as it was. I will be back soon.
Best scallops I’ve ever had! Filet was amazing as well. This is our new favorite fine dining restaurant in the greater Charlotte area!
Maybe at a non Queen's Feast visit, as is the problem w many restaurants during QF, they become a food mill and you feel the pressure of the table turn...some of the food was excellent (scallops, sushi tots and filet) while others pretty average (peach dessert). Servers tried to take plates while we were still eating (there was plenty of food still on plate so should have been obvious.)
Exceptional ! Exceptional! The meal, the service...Exceptional!
