The food was great but the service was poor. The first waitress was wonderful, but the change in shifts really ruined the service. No one came to check on us, not to offer drinks or anything else, or even the check. When they brought additional food items we ordered, they brought it with not utensils. Additionally, the restaurant ran out of two dishes. Three of us had to select other items, there was over 1.5 hours left for brunch to end, it was not a good sign a fifth of the options from the menu were not available. We were please they made up with a discount but I wish it could have been better given it was my mother’s birthday brunch.
The food was fantastic and the service was exceptional.
Awesome dinner, even better experience. Great place to bring a date.
First course (Grilled Octopus) was fresh and well-prepared but portion was small for the price. Mains were the problem. Wife's scallops were not hot, my "60 second" steak lacked any distinguishing flavor, I ordered it with fries and both sauces, but received the Yukon potatoes and only one of the sauces, and had to wait an inordinate amount of time for a glass of wine (the manager comped our dessert as an apology). Not 5Church's best night. Seemed understaffed, although not especially busy.
Food was amazing (highly recommend the sushi tots). Our server was very nice but very slow.
Vibrant atmosphere. Great Grouper!
We sat for 1-1/2 hours waiting for our dinner. I think the waitress just wanted us to order more drinks. The food is great. Very noisy. We were a group of 10 and she never once asked in the 2+ hours that we sat there if I wanted a drink. I chose this place because they have an interesting menu and I had had a great lunch with a business colleague. This was a casual business dinner at the end of a long work day and so did not appreciate being seated at 7 pm and getting my dinner after 8:30 pm.
Very interesting decor and a gorgeous bar. Food was a bit pricey and the lobster succotash was very dry. The highlight was the "60 second" NY strip. The Tuna Tots were as great as suggested.
We were out for a special girls weekend with a reservation for 8:30. We were not seated until almost 10! Our waitress was very un personable and unfriendly. A manager/ host promised to make
Our experience right after our wait. I was never mentioned until I mentioned in at the end of dinner. The good was good but very over priced. The drinks were good but over all this was a terrible experience.
Ordered a Medium Rare Filet and it was more Medium. Would have liked to have some vegetable served along with the meal
Well worth the hype
The food was outstanding (though the truffle Mac and cheese was very bland!). Our waiter was awesome, making many recommendations for drinks and food and he even gave us a complimentary dessert because we were celebrating a friends birthday and it was outstanding!!
The restaurant is located on a corner and we were seated in the front so the car lights were distracting and while the ambiance is very nice, we had to use the lights on our phones to even see the menu!
Food was good, drink menu so so, very loud, tables close together.
The menu has a great selection and everything was fantastic. We love this place and will be frequenting them.
This is a great place for a business lunch, a gathering amongst friends or even date night. The design is top notch!
Menu is extremely limited. Order the filet and they cooked it at the wrong temperature. The sever was great and understanding. Need more options on menu
Came for Sunday brunch before a concert. Our reservation was at the end of the brunch time serving period and it felt a little like we got the leftovers. We have dined at 5 church on many occasions and everything was always top notch. Today it was just OK. Not bad. Not awesome. We will come back on a Friday or Saturday for a date night and hopefully it will be excellent again.
Brunch for 6. While we WERE late, we were able to be worked in and the service was exemplary! The wait for food was incredibly slow however and the food was average. The noise level was akin to a bar at 11pm so I would not go back expecting to hear anything said during a conversation.
Anniversary brunch and food was amazing
We had brunch. Eggs were dry. Toast was white bread. Really disappointed.
I felt the beef was overcooked and not as flavorful as I expected. The truffle mac & cheese was delicious.
Food and service excellent but expensive. Noise level very loud and hard to have a conversation.
After arriving, we tried to leave because of the noise level but our waitress moved us to a quieter area of the restaurant. Drinks were great, but our food didn’t arrive for an hour. We noticed everyone around us that ordered at the same time had received and finished their meal. When it finally arrived my salmon was undercooked, but I didn’t want to send it back. We skipped dessert because it was so late.
The atmosphere was amazing. I would go again for a drink. The food and service was awful.
Mediocre food. Avoid the grouper. Collard greens and sushi rice balls were good. As were the fries. Nothing to write home about. And we were stuck at the worst table. Waiter was very nice and attentive.
Patrick was wonderful in his recommendations and service!
We did brunch before a matinee show and it was great! The food was excellent and the service was fantastic!
Brunch was ok, eggs were over cooked for most in my group. They were very understaffed so service was a bit slow. Might try again for dinner, had heard great things but didn’t live up to my expectations.
5Church has always been a favorite Sunday morning brunch choice. We go almost every time we are in Charlotte visiting our daughter in college. The atmosphere and location can't be beat. The food is usually yummy and service on point, but not this time! The food was decent, but a few things have gone downhill. Some portion sizes and presentations were not as they have been before. The wait staff was over-worked due to people calling out, but the support staff of management and hostess were NOT stepping up to fill the void. Many items we requested like coffee refills, water, ketchup, etc. never made it even after asking several people including 2 hosts/managers. Our server was frazzled, but we did not blame him as it was obvious his support staff was not doing their job. Was a very unfortunate experience!
Way too loud
Good food, excellent waiter, too pricey.
Wine list incomplete. No concession by management. Very disappointed.
We had a pre-theater brunch at 5Church and it was wonderful! The service was terrific, and everyone in our group was very happy with the food. You can't beat the location too!
Went for brunch on Sunday 10am. Place was quiet, but filling up as we were getting ready to leave. Food was good, service was great!
Food was, as always, delicious, but service was VERY slow.
Hands down the best scallops my husband and I have ever had. He’s a hard one to impress as he grew up on the coast. The place was busy but we were still able to feel like it was an intimate dinner.
Food was delicious! And so was the service!
Good for Charlotte . But expected a lot more in food quality and creativity from a top chef contestant.
Terrible hostess - unfriendly and extremely slow service for a nearly empty restaurant. On top of that had to fight for my open table since she failed to check me in. Used to be my go to for business lunch, no more
