Unique ambiance and experience. Food was very good and service was excellent. Sound level was the only drawback.
Great place for celebratory dinner. We were a party of 7. Everything we ordered was perfectly prepared. Service was good. Ambience is pleasant. One of the few good restaurants in Charleston that can accommodate large parties.
We went with our 3 kids during our vacation in Charleston, the look and field is unique and greatly decorated. Then cocktails were fantastic, we tried the Belle Oaxaca and Old Fashioned and that was one of the best I have ever tried!. Then on the appetizers Tuna Sushi and King Crab appetizer of the day was THE Star, amazing combination of flavors. For the main course, even though there is no kids menu, they went the extra mile to accommodate our 3 kids meals. For the adults the Mahi and the NY were fantastic and paired perfectly with the wine. Overall was a great experience and a great surprise above expectations! Last but not least Marisa was an extraordinary, patient and very kind server, being the cherry of the cake of our experience!
Great atmosphere and very well rounded menu. The staff was very helpful and new the menu very well. My husband said it was his favorite meal in Charleston
5Church was beyond our expectation! We went by for Sunday brunch while visiting from Chicago. Our server, Anfernee, was AMAZING! Great experience, fast service, friendly/inviting atmosphere!
Excellent food, service and ambiance! Highly recommend visiting 5Church in Charleston as well as Charlotte. Jamie Lynch's menu is full of tasty temptations - we had the crab benedict, avocado toast, lolla rossa salad w/cappucinos and latés. Every bite was scrumptious. Our server, Jane, was the epitome of excellence - shared the interesting history of 5Church, Top Chef Lynch, and its location & artwork. Her knowledge of the menu in detail made ordering a breeze. Our plates came out quickly and perfectly. Our rez for brunch was at 10a when they opened, but already the tables were filled and there was a lively, welcoming, fun vibe. Keep up the good work, 5Church - we'll be back soon!
Brunch at 5Church was delicious! Loved the atmosphere, and service was great. We will definitely eat there again.
Everything was great from the food to the service! Would come back in a heartbeat
Very cool vibe inside, food was incredible. We got the fried chicken, sushi tots, charcuterie and tartare--outstanding!
Absolutely incredible brunch in an awesome venue. Very reasonably priced for one of my favorite spots in Charleston.
Great atmosphere, though we were sat by a very loud table that seemed to be unaware of anyone but themselves. Appetizers were amazing as was most of the main course. However if you plan to get the 60sec seared steak expect it to be relatively raw. Our group ordered two and we had to send one of them back because it was completely rare.
We go to 5 Church fairly often and have always had a great experience. This time around the food wasn’t up to their usual standard, but we still had great service.
The ambiance is amazing. Loved the bar especially (even though we ate at a table). The food was good but not worth the price. SUPER salty! The drinks were fantastic though - would definitely order the Moonshine Mule again!
This was our third time at 5 Church. Food, service, and ambiance is excellent. Always is
My biggest complaint was when we got there it was empty and not many people. Till we were almost finished it was more then 50% occupied and the bar was full. We finished with no dessert (which was a disappointment)and left quickly.
I really didn’t appreciate that were not following the guidelines for COVID. And the bar tenders plus a manager I presume didn’t know how to wear a mask properly. Their noses were completely out.
I try to follow the guidelines and patronize the places that do.
This restaurant was a true treat and made our first night in Charleston truly memorable. The chef made such delicious and the presentation was amazing. The waiter was very helpful and knew a lot about the chef, food, and building. It was a wonderful experience, I would definitely come again!
Service was awful and the food was horrible.
Love that an old church has been turned into a restaurant. The bar and dining area in the main church section is unique. We were seated in the smaller side room, so not the same experience as eating in the main room. Unique decor and writing on the ceiling and walls. Service was friendly, and food very good. Glad that they use local Keegan-Filion meats, which is one of the reasons we chose to eat there. The pork belly Benedict was very good, but the pork belly was not cooked crispy so the fat made the dish very rich. Loved the tomato jam which added just a bit of sweet with the savory. Since it’s summer and fresh fruit is in abundance, it would have been nice to have even just a little garnish on the plate, but there was not. Friends were satisfied with their meals, and side order of a huge biscuit which was flaky. $12 for a Bloody Mary with Tito’s vodka was a bit steep, especially since half the drink was ice. Good experience, would be nice at night, but there wasn’t anything really outstanding to make me want to return.
The restaurant was beautiful, brunch was fantastic and great service.
Amazing experience and food!!! Great waitress as well!
Date night with my wife
Our server Anthony was excellent; the food was incredible; and the ambiance was gorgeous. We’ll definitely eat here again the next time we’re in Charleston!
Awesome experience and the best steak I have ever had.
We sat outside in the cutest little vestibule! The food was great and so were the drinks. Our waitress was also nice.
Our server, Anfernee (spelling, sorry) was ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. He made our whole entire experience, although, the food and atmosphere were awesome as well! I was a server myself, and he was probably one of the best servers I’ve ever had.... I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner with a few other friends, and none of us have been to 5Church yet (we are all from the Charleston area). A few appetizers slightly overpriced, but entrees were well worth it!!! Overall, we had an excellent first experience. 10/10 would come back.
This place was the bees knees. 10/10. Highly recommend. I’m having my wedding here one day. Lol.
Great experience we were seated at the private outdoor table in the front and it was a great birthday dinner
Great food and service. The entire waitstaff take care of you, none of the “I’ll tell your waiter”, also very accommodating with certain substitutions.
Such a wonderful restaurant!!! We enjoyed everything about it!!!
Amazing food, drinks, Great staff the hospitality was excellent even with covid 19.
As far as the food goes, everything was cooked well and the portions were fair. I think you all were over staffed but our waiter was not attentive as she should have been. In regards to the ambience-10/10.
Highly recommend. Only suggestion is more knowledgeable servers on gluten free options. They only had 1 dish that qualified and while other dishes could have been modified the server was unhelpful.
Our waitress made us feel at home and gave us champagne to help celebrate our engagement!
Presentation and ambiance was amazing, service was pretty good, food was limited due to Covid but the flavors were bland. I would hope for a little more flavor and creativity.
We loved this place. Staff was friendly, food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was amazing. Definitely a unique place. Highly recommend for those in the area to check out!
Shelby our waitress was the best! Great food and atmosphere !
Excellent! Loved the atmosphere. Unique interior and great food. We dined inside, and felt comfortable with the spacing between tables. All staff wore face masks, and wore them properly (over the nose, didn't pull them down to talk).
Excellent drink menu and food selection. Ambiance is very cool.
Great service, infact, there seemed to be too many wait staff for the number of guests. Food was good, not an exceptional meal for Charleston, but good. Limited menu as expected in these covid days. Great location. Biggest disappointment was that the tables were not far enough apart. We figured they wouldn't fill them all because we were all inside and of course, couldn't wear masks while eating. But as the evening went on, the tables became filled. Will not return during the pandemic.
Beautiful ambience in this restaurant! Drinks were good but pricey around $12-$15 per drink. Great selection of drinks!
