Good food - though waited 25mins for coffee, and a pepper I was eating had been cooked with the label on (I’m too polite to say anything in the restaurant but left the piece on side of my plate so waiter would notice but he did not or ignored it - very bad). Also they squashed everyone together rather than spreading diners out during the pandemic we’re currently facing (also no music or very quiet music so it’s impossible to have a conversation without overhearing all other peoples conversations and vice versus - we’re so close to other tables it feels like you’re sat with them). Just hilariously bad service.
Ambience was cool. Service very good. Fish dinner average...tasted fishy and salty. Steak dinner average.
We came to 5Church for a bachelorette weekend brunch. We loved everything about it: decor, atmosphere, service, and of course the food and beverages. Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone!
Fanatic food, great service and a super fun and unique atmosphere!
We had an 8:00 reservation and were seated about 8:15, although we arrived at 7:45. We waited at the bar which was very efficient. We ordered the ceviche of the day, which was bland. When our meals came, my wife's lamb burger and my cobia were lukewarm at best. We sent them back. The manager apologized and they came back out after a short wait and were nice and hot and very tasty. My wife's fries were overdone and too salty. We noticed that quite a few others were sending their food back too. When our waiter brought the bill, we were charged twice for everything. I sent the bill back and it was corrected to only pay for one entrée for each of us.
Had a wonderful dinner with family for my Birthday! Would definitely recommend.
Food was very good. Service was slow but it was Friday night and therefore very busy. Will go there again
Great food and service - good energy!
The 5Church team went above and beyond for our dinner celebrating my daughter’s engagement! The servers did an amazing job!! The food was on point! The managers ensured our satisfaction as well. Y’all proved why the restaurant is here to stay in Charleston! Thank you!! ❤️
This is one of our favorite places in Charleston. However this visit was very disappointing. Our server rushed us from start to finish and was no accommodating to with gluten free diet needs as we have experienced in the past.
Incredible lunch and atmosphere!! Definitely try the Japanese chicken app!!!
5Church is a very unique and beautiful building. The staff is very informative, friendly and efficient in their service. We enjoyed our time and would go back if we are with others that would like to experience 5Church. You need to go at least once.
Spring break with kids and grandkids. The filet over cassoulet was incredible!! Service was excellent and the atmosphere is wonderful and so unique!
Noise level not great but food is wonderful, service great, and ambiance unique and really cool.
We enjoyed a Monday night early dinner at 5church including wine, charcuterie, the lamb burger, and the fried chicken! The fried chicken portion was so huge we could have shared it. All food was perfect. The bartenders were both superb and gave great recommendations and excellent service.
One note - when I made the reservation it said we’d be seated at the bar for happy hour bookings so I was surprised when we were seated at a regular table. When I asked about happy hour, we were told we could only get the specials at the bar. With a mostly empty restaurant, it seemed silly. We happily moved to the bar but it was an awkward transition and seemed strange that we’d first be seated at a table when my booking was for happy hour and we expected the bar. Our original table remained empty the entire time we were at 5church so the move was unnecessary.
The dining experience was great. From the service to the food to the setting... great experience. Would recommend to anyone in the Charleston area... a must.
Great Food and Excellent Service!
Great cocktails; superb food; phenomenal service!
Good meal and great service. A very neat atmosphere as the setting is inside of a church. Will go back when we return to Charleston.
We went for brunch and were blown away by both the quality of food and the quality of service. Our waiter was super knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the dishes on the menu and made great recommendations.
This restaurant is awesome. The food is amazing, great ambiance and service was superb (Charlie was the BEST!) Whenever we visit Charleston I will definitely eat here!
We actually went on a special “menu” night with the 2 hosting Chefs from Bravo Top Chef... in correlations with CHARLESTON Food & Wine week so the food was superb along with our amazing waiter Anfrony! He was at our beckon call and so informed on each dish and drink. It was really a fun night. A little expensive for a normal date night but since it wasn’t “normal” the splurge was worth it. Can’t wait until the new seafood restaurant opening beside it run by same great Chef Jamie! Thanks for a special evening!
One of my favorite places to eat. Every dish is delicious and the staff are always pleasant.
Best steak and fried chicken anywhere!!
Loved the ambiance
Ambiance was lovely and server paid attention to detail . Glad our hotel recommended . We will visit again .
Great food & Service
What a cool place! Great food, drinks and service.
Ordered scallops and they had turned. Chef denied it and manager never came out. We know seafood and scallops should not smell like ammonia. Waitress gave a 50 dollar bill as change. Are you kidding? That’s not your tip. Very disappointed
We selected 5Church Restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. We had high expectations for our celebratory dinner because of the positive ratings given to this restaurant. We arrived early at the restaurant and were directed to a very small table in the main dining area. As we were seated a waiter was going around placing glass votive candles on the tables. We were given two large paper menus and as I was reading it, the menu got over the small candle and caught on fire. I immediately grabbed the water on the table to extinguish the fire and used the napkins to dry the table afterwards, interestingly no wait staff noticed. We informed our waiter about what had happened and he smiled and said that it happens often and gave me another menu, a very disconcerting answer. The food at this restaurant was average for the price although the building was very unique. Our dinning experience was nothing special so we will not recommend this restaurant if you are celebrating a special occasion but it’s a great place for a drink or casual dinning and check the inside of the restaurant. Interestingly as we were leaving we noticed that on the table adjacent to us a guy was reacting to his menu starting to burn. I hope management at this restaurant will take action about the fire hazard of these small votive candles before a serious incident or injury occurs or a fire breaks out in this beautiful historical building of old Charleston.
The food and service were fabulous. I asked a few questions as I am doing Keto. Our server was awesome and quickly adjusted my entree to meet Dietary requirements, and it was delicious. Service was attentive without being obtrusive. I will definitely go there again.
Highly recommend this restaurant, the food is amazing, the drinks spectacular and the interior of the restaurant is beautiful.
We met friends for dinner, and we all enjoyed 5 Church. It's a gorgeous building, the atmosphere is relaxing, and the food is delicious!
I have not been to a more beautiful restaurant in Charleston. A little on the pricey side for what we got ; but then again we knew that before going there.
We had the most amazing time once we were seated at 5 Church. The food was delicious, our wait staff was attentive to detail and the atmosphere made for a really fun time. we will be back very soon!!!
The only issue we ran into was that we had reservations and still had to wait over 30 mins to be seated. The hostess was not super communicative and told us it would only be a couple minutes and never updated us that it would take longer. I get that things get busy and people stay longer we would have just like to have been updated so we could have grabbed a drink or walked around.
Very unique atmosphere. The food was fantastic with quick service. Definitely will be back!
We were visiting Charleston and had the wonderful opportunity to dine at 5Church, it did not disappoint! We loved the ambience and our waitress, Foley, I believe was outstanding. Since we were from out of town, she did an excellent job of highlighting the items on the menu. We started with the sushi tots, which were amazing! I enjoyed the Mahi Mahi entree and my husband loved this special strip and the way the chef prepared and cooked the meat. What a great experience and we will definitely spread the word that this place is OUTSTANDING,
Excellent food and service! We will definitely be back.
First time. Loved the interior. My favorite were the angel wings on lights! Food was outstanding. I had the Mahi Mahi.
Food was good. The “60 second” NY Strip steak was cold on one side. I guess this is how it was supposed to be, but it wasn’t what I expected. My wife really enjoyed her braided ravioli.
