Amazing atmosphere, all service staff were attentive and polite. Food was absolutely amazing and we were given complimentary champagne for birthday celebrations!
Service was amazing and the restaurant was busy!
Food was very good, just would have loved it to be warmer (eggs) which I know is hard to do!
Overall we love 5Church!
Weren’t accommodating, no number to call if you’re running late.
All was very nice except the loud noise level. Couldn’t even converse with my companion.
Maybe some sort of noise buffers/ absorbers should be considered.
Celebrated our anniversary and Jon M provided THE BEST SERVICE - So kind, engaged, thoughtful. He planned a special surprise for us. Can’t say enough about the pride he takes in his work and how it translates to the customer experience. It was a wonderful celebratory evening. The space is also a feast for the eyes. Cocktails were delicious (spritz, smugglers run, strawberry cucumber). Chef’s special 60 second steak was amazing. Thanks 5Church.
Food was not hot .. drink had foreign objects …waiter tried his best to remedy situation .. other waiters in area was concerned for our experience so staff was very helpful but I expected hot food from a top chef .. place was beautiful
Food was absolutely DELICIOUS. Service could be better. Restaurant was stunning! Bathroom was super dirty though ….
Wonderful restaurant. Food is great. Service is superb. JP is terrific.
Super loud. I would go there for a drink. The menu is unexciting. Food was ok.
Excellent place to eat and enjoy the history of the building.
Amazing food, breathtaking atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!
The best meal of our trip was had at 5Church. We had always been there for drinks but never ate. The food was nothing shy of amazing. Our filet mignons were cooked to perfection! I’d try anything there:)
Atmosphere and service was excellent and worth stopping in at least for a drink or perhaps lunch. Dinner was average at best and the drinks we ordered came out wrong. Not sure if the bartender wanted to add his own touch to a plain martini and Manhattan or if the server just wrote it down wrong. Would recomment strictly for the atmosphere and venue
Food was demand our server Ethan was knowledgeable, friendly and fabulous!
Way too noisy could not hear the waiter. My pasta dish was horrible the waiter gave me the salmon instead which was good
We were celebrating our 32nd anniversary. The food was absolutely delicious. Our waiter was great and we would highly recommend 5 Church.
It was restaurant week when we were in Charleston. Got a wonderful salmon meal with sides and dessert for a really good price. Excellent service. Must have reservations for this exceptional dining experience. Highly, highly recommend!
Went for lunch. Unfortunately, gluten free options were limited for one in our party. Drinks were really good. Service was amazing. 3/4 disliked their meals
Amazing atmosphere and great food! We celebrated our daughter’s 21st birthday and the staff lavished her with attention.
Have typically enjoyed 5 Church but thinking restaurant week is not the time to go.
Service wasn’t great, food was ok. We enjoyed brunch here many times but this was our first dinner. We will stick to brunch going forward.
Loved the idea of a church as a resturant
Food was great even though the chicken was way too salty and the salmon could of been cook more
But I’d go back tomorrow
Loved the pork chop, broccholini and salad. We also liked the s'mores dessert. We also liked the malbec wine!
Great experience!! Great vibe!!
Service started very good & then they simply forgot us to serve large party at next table
I had great anticipation befoe going to 5 Church. But I left unimpressed. We ordered the Restaurant Week menu. 3 course for $40. Service was good. Wife had the salmon which was delicious. I ordered the 60 second steak. $15 upcharge. got a strip steak that was thinner, but seemed fairly rare. for that price and being rare, i expect a tender steak. definitely wasn't tender. could not find a trace of the peaches on the plate. also, no japanese eggplant on the plate. just a pile of shushito peppers. hot peppers as a veggie? walked away disappointed and feeling like 5 church thinks they are better than they really are. Based on this dinner, don't think i will be back.
We were there for restaurant week and it was wonderful! My husband had the fried chicken and Yukon mashed potatoes. The chicken was crunchy and the mashed potatoes had whole grain mustard which had them tasting more like potatoes salad (which I loved, not so much my husband). I had the tagliatelle and it was flavorful, unique and delicious. The apple dessert was the best item of the meal!
Only two words are needed: Fried Chicken.
Fabulous meal, thank you. We enjoyed some lunch cocktails and the unique decor.
The best restaurant in Charleston!
We had friends visiting us in Charleston and we wanted to take them to one of our favorite spots. I specifically requested the large room with high ceilings and this request was ignored completely. We were seated in a completely different room with no apologies or explanation. The service was HORRIBLE for a Monday night. Our waiter didn’t know the beers on draft, got my husbands order wrong (he ordered a filet and was given salmon…), and we had a hard time flagging him down for simple drink refills. He ignored our table a few times, almost like he knew we were upset and didn’t know what to do. The whole restaurant was a mess. I have never been SO disappointed with 5Church. Typically we have great experiences and we always want to go back. This was not the case. We are not complicated or demanding people and we were extremely patient at first. But then it just become ridiculous. We were so embarrassed bringing our guests there. The only good thing was the food was delicious.
Wonderful meal! Great way to spend my daughter turning 19. Filet was wonderful.
The food was great the taste and flavor were excellent. Great service.
Amazing ambiance! We arrived a bit after 6, reso @ 6:30. Ck’d-in w/ hostess, headed to the bar. It was happy hour. Although they do not promote it once you’re there, they do honor it, upon request. The bartender would not get myself and another patron a drink at 6:55, saying the cash register would charge full price? I decided to reward the waiter vs. a bartender with an attitude, with my order, thus the tip accordingly. Now a lil past 7, still, no one had come to seat us; back to the hostess. She said we were never ck’d-in, I explained to her we had (different hostess). She requested a few minutes; no prob, it is not available at 5 Church. Since our meal was taking an inordinate amount of time, our waiter stated he would comp us some hummus. Nice touch. Dinner finally came, the hubs’ was good, mine not so much. The chicken was dry. Then, the hummus finally arrives? I also inquired about my broccolini side. Our waiter said he assumed it was on my plate with the chicken. Really, did you look at my plate? It finally was brought long after our dinner concluded. No thanks. Waiter was just scattered? We had really looked forward to dining here as this restaurant has high ratings. Unfortunately for us, this was a huge letdown. There are ample other opportunities in Charleston. But it is a must see place. Have a dink during HH to check it out and dine elsewhere.
Average; nothing special at lunchtime.
Just ok, can’t say anything was bad but was not at all memorable. Silverware looked old and spotted.
Great restaurant with a very unique atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.
This is our go to when we have friends or family from out of town who haven’t eaten in Charleston. It’s just a cool place and the food is always incredible.
Great food and awesome location. Highly recommend….
