It was good we had a good waiter although we had hoped to have Oysters I did not have them available at lunchtime found it was my birthday and they brought out a dessert one I knew it was my birthday and not even a candle anyway besides that it was a good experience
The pictures of the space, the high rating, and the “posh” description caught my interest and I booked a table for late on a Wednesday night. The food and wine were excellent. The service was average. However the interiors and overall experience don’t approach Posh. The only soft surfaces are people and their clothing. There was a singer, who was fine but the volume was crushingly loud. We asked to be moved but that didn’t help. We asked for him to be turned down but the server indicated that wasn’t possible. At $200 for 2, we would have loved to have been able to talk. We bolted as soon as we finished the entrees with raging headaches. We will not go back. Too bad because the food was so good.
Amazing dinner as always!! Would have preferred seating away from the music, but other than that, we love 5 Church!
We had the best experience here in the 4 days we were in Charleston. The waiter, Jon, was excellent. He made our anniversary dinner there welcoming and memorable! Definitely one of the top restaurants in the city!!!! Filet Mignon was cooked to perfection and the cronuts were amazing!!! We will be back!!!!!
Appetizer balls w broccoli had no broccoli and no taste. Appetizer board was good. Ravioli was like a dumpling. Most had no filling. Bass was good. Waiter was exceptional.
Horrible service. Appetizers came out with entrees. Upon asking the waiter why appetizers were served with the entrees she looked at me and said nothing. Waiter had zero personality and did not come back after dropping food to inquire if we needed anything else or refill water or tea.
Hostess crew also needs training. I had made a reservation and was seated at a table in the back by the wait station and the pass thru between main dining room. There we plenty of tables that we could have been seated at but they chose the worst possible table to seat us at.
DELICIOUS!!!
2 out of 3 entrees were unfortunately cold.
Service was terrific and food delicious. A bit surprised that tables were not spaced further apart due to COVID
It was good
Great atmosphere! We had the lobster bisque, fried chicken and lamb burger! They were very good, but the atmosphere is a must-visit in Charleston!
The food wasn’t great. I ordered the pasta and it was so thick you could really only taste dough.
Sushi tots and drinks were amazing. Our server...Ian? I believe was so complimentary and helpful. Definitely coming back in May!
Decor and scenery was phenomenal, food was great and our waiter John was so helpful. He took pictures of us at every angle, told us where to go next and gave us a lot of history on the place. Highly recommend.
The food was amazing as was the bartender Treven. Great experience!
Just an amazing space and the food and service was the best we had in charleston
The setting was phenomenal, however, it took us two hours to get through a couple of drinks, one appetizer and 1 entree each (2 total) because service was very slow. Tables all around us were there for shorter periods of time and received explanation/redress from service and management for slow service but we did not. It was a bit of a bummer because this was the one experience we were really looking forward to! The food was definitely tasty, I just wish we didn’t have to wait so long.
This place is so Unique & a must try! Have been wanting to try it from hearing so much about it & it did not disappoint. Our server was nice and our food delicious! Food didn't take long at all. And the drinks are unlimited in choice of what you can have! Great vibe if you are looking for somewhere to have a nice dinner or just a drink!
The place is beautiful. The bar is amazing and very classy. Food is good, I would like to see it at dinner. The lunch menu is limited, but good. Service is very good. Very attentive and service by all is spot on. Get a reservation, its in a prime location near everything.
A beautiful place! The sandwiches were average, but the dessert was delicious. The inside is a must see!
Both entrees we tried to order had run out. Sea bass was good but dry.
Food was great, service was great, very cool place. Cocktails were good- get the Viper! Wish the menu had a few more options-especially pescatarian/veg
My husband and I booked a reservation at 5Church for Valentine’s Day! They seated us in the back room but we were really looking forward to sitting in the main part of the resteraunt! After asking the server he moved us where we wanted which was amazing! My husband got the sushi tots as the appetizer and loved them! I got the French onion soup which was my favorite that I’ve ever had! But then when I got my pasta for our main course that was the BEST pasta I have ever had! My husband did not enjoy the NY strip very much. Overall I would highly recommend dining here! It was such a romantic evening!
The restaurant is beautiful! The service, food, and drinks are all top notch!
Food was average. Had a very poor experience
One of the best brunches I have ever had. Highly recommend!
This is truly an awesome brunch. Mimosa was dirt cheap and delicious and food was just delicious. The ambiance is exactly what your looking for in a great experience.
There is so much I want to say about our experience at 5Church. First of all, we attended the brunch on Valentine's Day and the energy of the entire building was amazing. The staff is very friendly and attentive and seated us right away. Our server, Erin, was outstanding. She remembered every detail and item that we ordered, she refilled our drinks as needed, and was extremely friendly and welcoming. We could not have asked for a better Valentine's Day. The food was amazing! We had the Fried Chicken BLT, Pork Belly Benedict, Coffee Service, Mimosas, and a side of grits. Absolutely spectacular. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone and everyone. They are welcoming to all and never make you feel like a burden or just another customer.
This building is amazing, and eating inside is so unique. The brunch that we had was really tasty. However, they definitely need to get a handle on reservations and table turnover. Even though we had a reservation, we had to wait a significant amount of time to be seated.
Don’t get me wrong, the food was good. And the venue was great. But for a “brunch” menu, it wasn’t very brunchy. It was more lunch forward. And the food, while good, wasn’t spectacular or noteworthy. Service was adequate but for a Valentine’s Day Brunch, a bit more, well, enthusiasm would ha e been appreciated. I wouldn’t not recommend it, but I won’t be eager to get back, either.
Great ambiance and decor. Went for Sunday brunch while visiting Charleston. The service and food were great!
Quite simply this restaurant does not take COVID seriously. 5Church was packed wall to wall (100% capacity according the hostess) and were running 30-45 minutes behind on reservations on the night we visited. Guests were forced to choose between waiting outside in a heavy rain storm or in their cramped waiting area. No one was enforcing mask wearing in the waiting area and many of the patrons were either wearing masks incorrectly or they did not have them on at all. Patrons from the bar area were wandering around the restaurant, obviously intoxicated, without masks. Overall just a very sketchy experience that I would not recommend to anyone who is trying to behave responsibly. When seated tables were packed closely together and from my experience social distancing was ignored. It was so bad that my wife and I seriously considered leaving and just getting a pizza delivered to our room instead of eating our Valentines Evening dinner at this restaurant. Food was fine but given the serious pandemic we are in that should not be paramount to anyone. There are plenty of other fine dining choices in Charleston that take their guests health seriously. Unfortunately 5Church has prioritized maximizing profits over social responsibility and public health.
The food and service was fantastic. We went on February 13th with a reservation and the wait was minimal.
Okay overall. I was expecting more with the hype and from what I’ve read. For the price, I definitely expected a little upscale linens, cutleries and foods. The service was great. We took a chance at the valentine menu. I think it was overpriced. The filet was done nicely. Everything else could have been better for what it’s worth. The additional fries we ordered was soggy. The wine choices were okay, mostly CA wines you can get in Costco, nothing extra special. The eclairs dessert was denser than what you would expect an eclairs should be. The pecan tart was better than eclairs. The place was definitely packed. .
I enjoyed this experience thoroughly. The food was delicious and the service was great! The only thing I would mention is the music. It threw me off a bit. The music played was upbeat and more "today's hits". I feel like, for this place, it should be more of a relaxed, instrumental type feel. Other than that, I enjoyed it!
Great food and accommodating staff!
Busy night for date night 2/13..
Food and drink was great.
No complaints!
Would return!
Great vibe, glad to see Charleston is getting back to normal after C-19.
We went with for Saint
Anniversary dinner.
Wonderful experience and excellent food
