On vacation from Dallas, Texas.
Family reunion girls night out
Ambiance was great, maybe a little loud. The fact that we were sitting at a big community table in the middle probably didn’t help. Also being on the end there were constantly servers running by.
My girlfriend said she really enjoyed her meal, the fresh catch I believe, but I was very disappointed in my meal. I ordered the fried chicken and it was extremely bland. We started with the oysters, and they were nothing to write home about.
I think it’s worth dining here once to see the building, but we more than likely won’t be returning.
Such a fun place for great cocktails and an amazing dinner.
Great way to end our vacation to Charleston. Excellent service and delicious and different foods. We will be back!!
The setting is (obviously) very interesting. The music in the bar part of the restaurant is lively and not quite so loud as to be obnoxious. The charcuterie is fabulous. The special app chicken liver mouse bread was a (not funny) joke. The twisted ravioli with sausage had very little sausage, and was average. The fried chicken may have been the best I have ever eaten. Service here, like everywhere during the transition, struggled,
Great service. Amazing ambiance. Food was good, not great. Pork chop was a little undercooked. Ravioli was great. Fried chicken was really good. Honey on the side is a better option. Fun night out and good drink selection.
We had a sea bass special and the duck it was amazing! Drinks were great seating was a little cramped but the food was so good it was worth it.
Wow. This was ever better than the reviews. Our server Liz as fantastic. I had the duck and my wife had the catch of the day which was halibut and both were outstanding. And what an incredible interior design. Would recommend to anyone GO
Beautiful restaurant! Small lunch menu , but good and drinks were on point!
Limited menu but very good.
Accommodating a vegetarian with a custom dish when the main veggie option was unavailable was very appreciated.
Overpriced food and small portions. Atmosphere is very cool.
The duck was crispy and tasty, the pork roulade was excellent. Thank you for the complimentary champagne to help us celebrate our anniversary!
Had delicious food in a great environment. They were able to accommodate my mom’s gluten sensitivity, though they did not have gluten free breads. Server was fantastic.
This place was beautiful and the food was great too. Great setting for a date night or girls dinner.
We arrived early for our reservation and were seated within a few minutes. Our server was very friendly and tried to be accommodating. Our reservation was for 8p on a Sunday night. By that time they were already out of their special appetizer of the day as well as their only vegetarian option on the menu other than salad. We ordered 2 drinks from the bar - double tall rum and Coke (after finding out they were also out of any type of amber beer) and a clementine hard seltzer. Turns out they were also out of that but were able to go procure more, which took less than 10 minutes. Our server was very apologetic and told us they were going to comp the first round of drinks since they were out of so many things we tried to order. This didn’t happen. At the end of the day, our meal was good but we are in no hurry to return and won’t be recommending this restaurant. Our bill with tip was $220 and just not worth it with so many other options in the area.
The duck was great, so you should definitely try that if you are there. I got the pork chop and it was dry, bland with no kind of sauce and a tiny bit of sweet potato puree that wasn't enough for me to even use with all of the meat. For $35 dollars I could at least get a fair amount of puree if my meat is going to be dry. There are A LOT of other restaurants in Charleston that I could spend this kind of money at and get a much better meal.
Atmosphere was wonderful. Service delightful. Food superb. Highly recommend it.
Food was great can't stop talking about the steak and the appetizers were awesome!
Sad to see the sushi tots gone. Our server was not great, he didn’t have answers to many questions we
Amazing! I cant say enough great things about this place. The inside is so unique and the food was out of this world
Great food. LOUD environment
Delicious food, beautiful atmosphere and great service!!
Would recommend just to see this venue. Beautiful building! Had the pork belly Benedict. Was good but small serving and pork belly almost non existant.
We’ve dined here a few times in the past and it’s been great.
Today it was disappointing. Food was mediocre and service was poor.
The coolest environment!! Definitely a unique spot and friendly service!
Excellent food but some of the portions were small.
A fabulous meal, served with professional and friendly style, in an amazing historic building. Our reservations were early (5:30 pm) and the atmosphere was very pleasant when we arrived. By the time we left, the noise level had grown quite a bit. Very joyous tables. If you're looking for an intimate dinner, we would suggest you arrive early or consider another choice. The quality and creative food was exceptional. Aiden, our server, was engaging, interesting and very professional.
We had a lunch reservation at 5 Church for 4 for a bachelorette party. Our table was seated promptly. The service was very attentive and the food was delicious and served quickly. Excellent Bloody Mary and highly recommend the fried chicken BLT.
Delicious food, great experience
LOVED this place. From start to finish everything was excellent.
Excellent service, Anfrenee is the best waiter we've had in a long, long time and truly made the evening exceptional. My duck was cooked perfectly and hubs filet was so delicious. Reserve early, they fill up quickly.
Ignored reservation notes. Server was not attentive and had no knowledge of the menus ingredients. I wasn’t expecting anything, but a happy birthday from at least the hostess would’ve gone a long way since it was in my reservation. I Noticed every table around us get hummus and chips as the “bread” as I over heard it called at the table next to me. But it was never offered to us. Probably won’t return as there are so many better options to eat at living in downtown Charleston.
Bussin food. Loud inside but very cool
Amazing food! Aesthetic was brilliant and so gorgeous! Couldn’t say enough about this place. We’re only in Charleston for the weekend and we are tempted to go back before we leave!
Great atmosphere and food. Well worth it
Unique setting in an old church. Great service. We got a great table in the back corner for a birthday celebration. It was pretty crowded but they managed it well. Food was fantastic.
Had to pop in for lunch after we had cocktails our first day in Charleston. Lamb burger was perfect and my hubby ate ALL THE FRIES! (Which he never does- so they were THAT good!). Cocktails were perfect and not “premade” which I dislike. Definitely worth a visit even if to just see the unique interior
