I had been looking forward to dining at 5 Church for a long time. Unfortunately, I walked away extremely disappointed. The atmosphere was neat, but it was very loud and difficult to hear anyone at the table. The food was so over salted we couldn’t finish it. The price was astronomical for what you get and the service was just so-so. If you want to check the place out, I would just grab a drink at the bar, but skip the food.

Met friends from out of town. Promptly greeted and sat. Was saint patties day. Had mimosas and beignets on the table. Wait staff very attentive. The bot/chicken sandwich was moist and fresh. The lamberger was done to perfection. The grits were so so no pizzaz.

This setting is flat out awesome. 2nd time eating and even better than the first. Places always get ‘extra points’ from me when they manage our son’s dairy allergy, which our server did very well. Our kids (13, 11) are pretty adventurous eaters and my son loved the spicy aioli on his BLT (omitting the pimento cheese). The remainder of the meal was also solid! The grits are fantastic here and the breakfast sandwich was great comfort food with a perfectly cooked egg. Brunch at 5Church is becoming a staple for us when we travel to Charleston!

My daughter and I were visiting from Savannah. We made a reservation in advance. Unfortunately we sat at our table with menus for over -15minutes until I decided to ask the bus boy next to us if he could have someone take our order. Right away Travis came over and apologized and mentioned that no one was assigned to our table but he would be more than happy to take care of us. He stepped up his game and was a great waiter. Just really seemed like poor planning on the restaurants part. Food was great as the many occasions before.

First time at 5 Church. It was highly recommended by several friends. Our server Adam was great and accommodated my husband's order. My raspberry martini was the best. Hostess had a great personality. Only negative, there was a table of 4 who were very loud. Maybe they thought they were eating in their home lol.

We had a wonderful experience! Our server was very friendly and helpful and the meals were absolutely delicious. It wasn’t too loud and the ambiance was very unique and interesting. Our favorite part was the complementary dessert because it was my husband’s 30th birthday! They gave us two delicious desserts on the house - way more than we expected. Thank you for a great experience - we’ll be back for sure!

Restaurant not crowded and brunch food took 45 minutes (inquired after 25 minutes and then a couple times more). Unbelievable. They comped half the check which was nice but still.

Everyone at 5Church provides the most enjoyable experience. We had the best anniversary to date celebrating with 5Church. We, as always, would overly recommend the excellence supplied by a wonderful community from the Executive Chef and staff. We love 5Church Charleston!

Food is always exceptional but disappointing that a request made during time of reservation to sit in the main church room was not honored and hostess was short and rude when asked about this. If you do not have the opportunity to sit in the main room it feels somewhat exiled in the side room next to the bathrooms and wait staff is not as attentive as they have tables in other room.

Limited lunch menu but what we had ordered was very tasty. The chicken BLT with a side of Brussels sprouts and the lamb Gorgonzola burger satisfies without huge portions. We left very comfortable. Wait staff was friendly and atmosphere cozy, considering it was a old church building with stain glass windows and cathedral ceiling!!

We visited 5Church on our first night in Charleston and it also happened to be my husband’s birthday. The restaurant is beautiful, which was by far the best part of our visit. We ordered and my husband was carded for his beer, so I mentioned that it was his birthday to our waitress she said happy birthday but it was never acknowledged again, despite being in our reservation. I ordered a lemonade (I’m 6 months pregnant), and had to ask for it twice before our waitress finally remembered to bring it to me. We had the pork fried rice to start and it was good, but spicy. Our meal took a long time to come out, so long the waitress came over and apologized, saying the chef didn’t like the way it looked and was re-doing it. My husband had the fried chicken which was very good and a huge portion - we actually gave his leftovers to the couple next to us since we are traveling and won’t have time to eat them. I had the beef tenderloin which was good, but nothing special for a $42 entree. The waitress was very nice but she was a little aloof and disappeared for long periods of time. If they had offered a free dessert for my husband’s birthday or the long wait for our meal, we would’ve tried dessert but they didn’t so we skipped it. Overall, I wouldn’t come for dinner again - service was too slow and the food wasn’t worth the high price. Maybe come for drinks to check out the ambiance?

This restaurant is something Charleston needs. They take classics and turn them into something brand new. I highly recommend the charcuterie board, meatballs, and lamb burger! My ravioli was delish with the italian sausage and my dad loved his steak, a signature for them!

Whether you are coming for a drink & apps or dinner this 5church Charleston is a must!

Food was just good, not outstanding. The crab cake Benedict arrived lukewarm and the poached eggs were extremely under cooked.. to the point I couldn’t eat them. But everyone else’s food was tasty! I split the breakfast sandwich on a croissant my daughter got and it was good. Service was amazing!
Atmosphere was cool being in a church setting. Overall we all enjoyed it.
