Had an amazing meal and loved the place... can’t wait to go back
The restaurant was very nice inside. The food was okay. We went for brunch. I would try it for dinner as it seemed more suited for that.
This place was great! Highly suggest the ravioli and mussels. The building is beautiful and the food and staff are even better. Will for sure be back many times!
One of the best dining experiences we have had in a long time. Such a beautiful space that marries history with modern design...we were just in awe of the artistic detail! Food and service outstanding...extremely creative menu that does not disappoint. Can't wait to go back!
It’s a great atmosphere but the food was just ok. Also, in an old church the sound is amplified. We luckily were there at 2 so it wasn’t very full but if we were there during high traffic times I’m certain we wouldn’t have been able to talk. Service and atmosphere was five stars.
Amazing environment with beautiful stained glass windows, uniques lighting and words all over the bar ceiling you could spend hours reading. We went for Sat brunch and food just OK, nothing special for Charleston which is a great town for foodies. Not sure I would return when in town as there are so many other wonderful choices. Wait person pleasant but not attentive and it was not busy.
Good ambiance; unique location. Good food, but quite expensive. Not a great value but good for a special occasion; in our case a short, first visit to Historic Charleston.
I was really disappointed. Had been to 5 Church last summer and loved it. This trip was so disappointing. Service was slow and inattentive although the waitress was very sweet. I had the duck special. It was inedible. My son had the 60 second steak and it was I’ve seasoned and poorly cooked. Even my dessert had a part that I couldn’t break or cut in a peanut butter mousse bomb. So disappointing. Not sure I’ll be back again
Had an amazing time. Great service and amazing food.
The menu was limited for lunch. Our selections were all good.
A devine place for good conversation. The highlight of this place is its location in a former church; high ceilings with inspirational messages; food is okay but not outstanding and several menu items weren't available. Staff is very engaging.
The fruit in my salad was frozen and when I told the waiter he said that’s how the chef serves it and offered no other solution. the fruit was the main ingredient in the salad thus rendering the salad inedible. He also did not take the dish off of our final bill even though I didn’t eat it. The space is very cool but the food and service are sub par. I won’t go back or recommend
Everything was amazing! It was a beautiful restaurant.
5Church is a really unique restaurant. Everyone there was friendly and knowledgeable about the food they’re serving. Service was impeccable and the atmosphere was really great. I would say it was the best meal we had in Charleston. The food was crazy delicious from the starters thru desserts. They’re hummus was outrageous, and I don’t even like hummus. Wish I could have some shipped to me, it was that good!!! We’ll definitely be back if ever in Charleston again.. it would be our first stop!!!
Anferny and Jacquline were amazing servers. I always like this place but this time was even more special.
We went there for a dinner during our honeymoon and they made it extremely special for us!! Everything we had was delicious.
Amazing food! Service was excellent! Look forward to returning!
First time dining here and love, love, loved it. The service was friendly and excellent. Ambience was beautifully unique. The scallop dish was amazing!! Would highly recommend.
Great for date night! The specials are always fun and unique, the ambiance never disappoints. Trevor the bartender was very friendly and makes a great Manhattan!
Food... ambiance... and service was impeccable! Will recommend and be back for sure!
Absolutely amazing!!! I highly recommend anyone visiting Charleston add this to your list of must visits.
I had been looking forward to dining at 5 Church for a long time. Unfortunately, I walked away extremely disappointed. The atmosphere was neat, but it was very loud and difficult to hear anyone at the table. The food was so over salted we couldn’t finish it. The price was astronomical for what you get and the service was just so-so. If you want to check the place out, I would just grab a drink at the bar, but skip the food.
Met friends from out of town. Promptly greeted and sat. Was saint patties day. Had mimosas and beignets on the table. Wait staff very attentive. The bot/chicken sandwich was moist and fresh. The lamberger was done to perfection. The grits were so so no pizzaz.
This setting is flat out awesome. 2nd time eating and even better than the first. Places always get ‘extra points’ from me when they manage our son’s dairy allergy, which our server did very well. Our kids (13, 11) are pretty adventurous eaters and my son loved the spicy aioli on his BLT (omitting the pimento cheese). The remainder of the meal was also solid! The grits are fantastic here and the breakfast sandwich was great comfort food with a perfectly cooked egg. Brunch at 5Church is becoming a staple for us when we travel to Charleston!
My daughter and I were visiting from Savannah. We made a reservation in advance. Unfortunately we sat at our table with menus for over -15minutes until I decided to ask the bus boy next to us if he could have someone take our order. Right away Travis came over and apologized and mentioned that no one was assigned to our table but he would be more than happy to take care of us. He stepped up his game and was a great waiter. Just really seemed like poor planning on the restaurants part. Food was great as the many occasions before.
The entire evening was fantastic - everything from the creative, delicious food, cocktails, & diverse menu, to the unique beautiful cathedral atmosphere, & our outstanding service & menu advice from Charlie. We will definitely return & recommend to friends!
Fabulous meal with friends and family
The scallops were very delicious and the best Brussels sprouts I ever have eaten
First time at 5 Church. It was highly recommended by several friends. Our server Adam was great and accommodated my husband's order. My raspberry martini was the best. Hostess had a great personality. Only negative, there was a table of 4 who were very loud. Maybe they thought they were eating in their home lol.
Overall 5 star with best red carpet treatment !! Special recognition to our server Madison and the manager Phillip Cotchen!! The vibe is great, service best ever and food fantastic. Highest recommendation for date night, group trip in Charleston, for lunch or dinner. Highest rating ever!!
We had a wonderful experience! Our server was very friendly and helpful and the meals were absolutely delicious. It wasn’t too loud and the ambiance was very unique and interesting. Our favorite part was the complementary dessert because it was my husband’s 30th birthday! They gave us two delicious desserts on the house - way more than we expected. Thank you for a great experience - we’ll be back for sure!
food is always on point when we dine here. service was stellar. Travis provided a great experience for us.
Restaurant not crowded and brunch food took 45 minutes (inquired after 25 minutes and then a couple times more). Unbelievable. They comped half the check which was nice but still.
Dinner was excellent! Charlie and Phil did an amazing job taking care of us.
Our waiter Charlie was amazing. His suggestions were spot on! We had such a great experience. Phil suggested pessimist wine, one of my favs. We highly recommend. 5 stars.
This is a lively place more suited to a young crowd. The restaurant feels like one big bar. Hostesses and servers were exceptionally friendly but the food was just okay.
It was my birthday and we had reservations at 8:15 and weren’t seated until 8:30. The service was terrible, the food a bit overpriced. I was disappointed. The venue on the other had was nice.
Everyone at 5Church provides the most enjoyable experience. We had the best anniversary to date celebrating with 5Church. We, as always, would overly recommend the excellence supplied by a wonderful community from the Executive Chef and staff. We love 5Church Charleston!
Food is always exceptional but disappointing that a request made during time of reservation to sit in the main church room was not honored and hostess was short and rude when asked about this. If you do not have the opportunity to sit in the main room it feels somewhat exiled in the side room next to the bathrooms and wait staff is not as attentive as they have tables in other room.
Awesome menu and great service.
Atmosphere and service were great, but the food was all extremely salty. The food and drinks were very disappointing...especially for the price.
