The volume of music is so high it would challenge any sport bar. Completely incompatible for any dining experience.
We had a wonderful dining experience, upstairs on the balcony.... wine, we shared a meat/cheese platter and it was perfect. Our server was attentive, not pushy and made certain we were on time for a concert at Symphony Hall. Will be back next time we are in Midtown.
Great chicken and waffles ! The pineapple mimosas were also very good, I look forward to trying the other flavors
Every time I visit I enjoy myself. Great food, atmosphere and nice music selection.
Great brunch - LOVED the chicken and waffles!
Picked this restaurant based on its location and Open Table reviews. Restaurant has a cool vibe but the noise level (at 6 pm) made conversation difficult. Service was excellent, food was good. My salmon entrée was hot and excellent but sides and sauce were lukewarm.
The charcuterie was decent. There were only a few pieces of bread for a very large board. Having additional crackers would’ve been good. The margarita flatbread was not good. Poor quality cheese and way too much sauce. I’ve eaten here before and the food was good quality. I’ll be back but probably skip the appetizers.
I didn’t think the service was great. Although there were a few redeeming menu items (the mussels were great!) majority of the food was mediocre and not worth the price. Very loud atmosphere. Overall disappointed.
Food and service were great. Decor is very eclectic. Lots of different options on the menu. Only real criticism is the noise level. It was nearly impossible to carry on a conversation with someone on the other end of a 4-top.
The food was amazing the staff friendly and on point.
They where fanatic, view was wonderful and the staff was on point. The hanger steak is killer.
Really good for a business meeting. Would be too loud for any formal outings, but a great place to meet for a causal dinner. Food was exceptional.
We ate prior to an event at Atlanta Symphony Hall. Had a great meal, great drinks, and great service. Got us in and out on time without feeling rushed.
Went for brunch, 2 minute walk from Alliance Theater and the outdoor seating made it a fun and convenient choice. Everyone was friendly. The service was great. Scott attention to coffee levels was appreciated. The barbecue shrimp app was excellent and extra napkins were available, eggs poached perfectly. We had a great experience and will be back.
The food was amazing as was the service. Unfortunately, we probably will not be returning. It was way too loud. We could barely have a conversation. Too bad because the meal was excellent.
The food was heavy and greasy . Service was poor
I was going to email the manager but I haven’t had a chance. So here it goes!
We got there late after a concert on a Friday night Sep 27th and didn’t realize the kitchen closes at 11pm. We were a party of 9 and arrived at 10:45pm. The hostess was very polite but not our waiter Jeremy.
Immediately as we sat down, we asked for water for the table Jeremy handed us our menus and abruptly said “the kitchen closes in 10mins” and walked away. He left without responding to any of our needs prior to leaving and sadly one of our friends needed to take a medication with water, that alone would have been sufficient to ease her from a lot of pain.
I say this all to say, clearly our business was not welcomed there so we made another dinner reservation at that moment with Two Urban Licks and they warmly accommodated all of us.
This is not my usual experience with your restaurant because a couple of weeks prior I had my best friend’s engagement dinner on the patio and rented half of the patio and Mallory was amazing.
I was excited to have a new group of friends experience what I experienced but sadly that not the case. I was very disappointed.
Wonderful atmosphere and food
Service & ambience were just what I was looking for. We ordered the beef carpaccio, a flatbread and brussel sprouts to share (daughter & I before concert). The beef & sprouts were wonderful, the flatbread just ok. I felt like the sauce was a little sweet. I definitely plan on coming back!
We really enjoyed our meals!! Everyone at the table ordered something different ! It was great!
Service was absolutely terrible. Went here with my boyfriend. As we were being seated, one of the other hosts told our hostess we couldn’t sit at the table she was seating us at. He said that we’d have to sit somewhere else because they were going to take our table for a larger party (which is fine but he said it very aggressively in front of us...super weird. He apologized though so no hard feelings there). It took about 5 minutes for someone to take our order/give us water after we sat down. We got an appetizer, which took 45 minutes for it to come out....it was a flatbread, and two entrees, which took another 30 minutes for them to come out. We got shrimp and grits and a steak salad. The food was great, but I’ve never waited so long for food. After we ate our appetizer, we never saw our waiter again until we were leaving. Someone else brought us our food, gave us our checks, and then as soon as we stood up to leave, we saw our other waiter at the door saying goodbye to us. So confusing. After being there for about a hour and a half, we have no intention of returning. Great food but terrible service. Waste of money.
The atmosphere is very cool, and we enjoyed our cocktails. Two of us at the table ordered different types of scallop dishes. Both were over cooked and still had sand in the scallops. For $35, we expected more.
I tried them the first week they opened, and again now. Still mediocre. If you like bar food with a slight upscale lean, it's fine. Nice decor but food average and not much to choose from.
We always have an exceptional experience at 5Church. Today, though lackluster at best (no consistent service, no silverware so our food got cold...). No worries. We still love you all!
Great food and great service. Will definitely be back.
We went on a Saturday night with some friends, ordered drinks and appetizers, they came out fine. Then, our entrees came out, everyone’s was cold. Not just luke warm, but cold. One of us ordered scallops and they were as though they had come out of a freezer on the bottom of them. So, we sent back all of our food. The manager came out to reassure us that they were making new meals for all of us. The meals came out and the bite was still taken out of one of the plates and their was a brussel sprout left on the dish (it came on a separate dish but my friend had dropped it on her original dish) That’s how we knew it wasn’t rectified. Every single meal was still cold but the actual plates were hot. The manager came out and apologized. He said he had an issue all night with the kitchen. He comped our appetizers, and we left without eating dinner. He gave us a $100 gift card to come back, sadly, I don’t know if we will try it again.
They never register our table and send a No-show that was not true
Food arrived late, and was not good.
Service took forever
Last time we go
Great ambiance! Food was a little cold when it arrived and took awhile to come out.
Really got off to a bad start for us. This was a surprise outing in honor of my wife's birthday. We booked our reservation with 5Church because of there roof top dinning which I stated in my reservation. 15 mins prior to our reserved time we got a phone call stating that the roof top dining would not be available (no time to find another location). So instead of the roof top we ate in the basement... service was good, food was decent but overpriced in my opinion .. not really wowed .. not bad but could have been better.
Our server was excellent and the food was very good. The atmosphere was like a really loud nightclub, loud music and it was difficult to hear the conversation at our table for four. It was as if our dinner table could have been in the middle of a dance floor. Just know this going in. Toward the end of our dinner they actually turned down the music a bit and it made it possible to hear a bit better. Everything else was very good.
Great place to go for a nite at the theatre.
Great meal. A little too loud.
5Church came highly recommended by hotel staff and so I hosted a very important client for dinner and we were all disappointed. Appetizer portions were small and expensive. $44.00 Ribeye was thin and a bit overcooked for all of us. Just not that great of an experience. $210.00 bill without alcohol! Not worth it.
It was very therapeutic. The art, the people and the service was everything we needed it to be.
Went on a Wednesday and must have had the B team in the kitchen. Charcuterie board was nothing more than sliced deli meats, stale bread, orange marmalade (out of a can), bland cheeses, celery and carrot sticks for $21. Roasted Brussels sprouts were deep fried greasy and drowning in butter. I could go on but, just keep your money and go somewhere else.
5 Church was close to hotel on a business trip. Man was I glad we went here. The food was wonderful. The cheese and meat board was a great way to start. I had the salmon over gnocchi. Everything was cooked perfectly. I will come here again.
Great food and the best rooftop dining experience in Midtown!
The food was delicious, served hot, and plated beautifully. Our waitress was attentive without being a nuisance. The atmosphere was fun and vibrant, and we had a terrific time playing giant jenga after our meal. The people-watching is world class!
