This restaurant never disappoints! And, my friends from out of town could not stop talking about how incredible the food was tonight.
The kitchen was really backed up. So although there were empty tables, we were waiting to be seated. Once seated it took a while to get our food. But the food was good.
Not a higher end provider they claim to be. I’m embarrassed I took my clients to this business. Never again.
Overall, good experience. The biscuits seemed a little over cooked, but overall brunch was great.
Monthly girlfriends get together
Vibrant scene with a nice menu, well prepared appetizers and entrees. Noise level was very high at time we were there, 8:00 p.m. on a Saturday evening. Several large groups of diners celebrating events helped increase the noise. Large bar, several TVs going. Service was very good.
The hostess started off the evening on a very negative note. She was extremely rude and unhelpful. Food was ok. Unfortunately, we saw a bug on the ground by our table, which makes it a little difficult to enjoy the rest of the meal. All together unfortunate experience from what used to be a good option for dinner in Midtown.
I've been the 5Church numerous times and each opportunity is usually a pleasant experience. However, this last visit was booked as an anniversary dinner for my wife and I on a staycation. Our anniversary (Noted in my Open Table reservation) must've been overlooked by the hostess as no mention was made throughout the entire evening. The hostess was being given a hard time by other patrons anxiously awaiting seating, but the oversight here was a missed opportunity for a higher rating.
Otherwise, the food and service from Gabriela were solid.
The food was amazing! My husband commented that this was the best strip steak he had ever had and one of the best steaks he has ever eaten. He is a ribeye guy and loved this strip steak a lot! His brussel sprouts were amazing, as well. My short ribs were to die for! The cocktails were well made. In regards to dessert, the caramel pot de creme was spot on. They accidentally brought out the ambrosia and I had a bite which was delicious. The red velvet cheesecake was the weakest dessert. Our server was wonderful too.
Loud, slow service, uninteresting food choices, small and watered down cocktails, and the room is like a mall food court without Chinese (I like foodcourt Chinese.) the waiter was handsome. That’s something.
The ambience is the only thing that would bring me back. We had a 9:15 reservation for a regular table, but were told that only a high top would be available for the next 30 minutes. Our waitress took our drink orders, which, being water to start, was the only thing brought to us all night in an expedient and correct manner. The service from that point on was horrendous. We ordered a glass of Reisling each, which was very slow to show up to the table. My husband then
ordered salmon, I ordered the pomegranate pork chop. We waited an inordinate amount of time for our meals, at which point our waitress brought “complimentary” hummus and chips. We were then delivered the wrong meals, not once but TWICE. Next, I watched our meals circle the dining room by a server who could not figure out where they went. They went back to the kitchen... and our waitress brought them out 5 minutes later. Needless to say they were lukewarm after being off the line for 10 minutes...
The salmon and asparagus accompanying were very bland , the bed of gnocchi and sauce were were a bit more flavorful. My pork chop and sweet potato purée was very good, but the green beans were unprepped and very stringy.
We then asked for the dessert menu. We each ordered dessert, both of which were so non descript I cannot compliment them. We did speak to a manager. And our waitress was extremely apologetic and mortified along with us about our experience. One meal was comped, and our drinks refilled, but we had to pay the rest of the bill.
My husband and I ate here before a concert. We let our server know we were on a tight schedule and she was very understanding and accommodating. The mixed drink with the strawberry purée and basil was outstanding. I ordered it without the simple syrup bc I’m trying to avoid as much added sugar as possible and the drink was still really good. We got the octopus appetizer which was fantastic. I got the hangar steak and Brussels sprouts- both were delicious. My husband got the 60 second steak and he loved it. Very memorable. Would highly recommend!
Food was amazing and service was great. We will definitely be back!
Yummy cocktails and delicious dinner! Fantastic vegetarian entree. I will certainly return!
Our first visit was great. Food was outstanding and the atmosphere is welcoming and fresh. 5Church was quite busy and our server got side-tracked serving a table of friends and wasn't as attentive as we like to see.
a GREAT place for business lunch or networking. A little loud, but otherwise awesome.
Good bye dinner
Great drinks, food, & service. Just had to deal with the noise and vibration of the construction next door.
The only negative was waiting for a while to get seated when I had a reservation and we were on time. I was asked again (by the hostess) about seating location even though I had booked a stAndard seat. Everything else was good
We waited 20 minutes after our reservation time to sit at a table that was open the whole time we waited. In fact the restaurant was maybe half full. Our waitress was great but she couldn’t over come a poor kitchen. It took forever for the food to come out and then one of our dishes was woefully undercooked. Not going back for sure
Great experience! We had so much fun especially because our server was fabulous! I m sure I m spelling her name incorrectly, my apologies however Saieka was amazing !
Good food and great service. Complimentary valet was nice. Only issue was the noise level. Not sure if the acoustics were the issue or everyone was very loud. Otherwise a nice dinner and I would recommend it.
I had the salmon croquette biscuit, and it was amazing! I loved it & wanted to order more to go. The mimosas was great. My friend had the fried chicken biscuit & was unhappy at how dry the biscuit was. Overall the place was nice.
Food was delicious.
The food was amazing and Hanna was a 5 star server! Thank you so much!
Our server Tatiana was amazing. Made wonderful suggestions, very attentive and a pleasure. I would return because of her... and for the lamb chops and seafood stew as well!
Main course was good, good service.
appetizer - octopus very over-cooked and sucks all of the moisture out of your mouth.
Here's the thing that keeps me from giving this place top marks. Who says we patrons, customers, victims in some cases have to be subjected to the "background music" not of our choosing? This place had good food, a good wine list, and we were lucky enough to be there early on a rainy weeknight; that's good for keeping the conversational clamor down. But the music did not fit in the restaurant. I don't want some screaming singer and heavy backbeat drums competing with my conversation. Cut the music or let a professional musician such as myself provide. I did request the waiter to see if he could diminish the nonmusical music; I guess he got it turned down a bit, but it was still obtrusive. Our waiter was excellent and he did tell us that when the room is full it is very loud and reverberant with patrons who are trying to be heard above the "music".
Loveeee this establishment, the food, the ambiance the service, impeccable! I would definitely return.
We found this place at the last minute for New Year's Day. It was definitely worth it. The ambiance is great as well as the scenery. The food is delicious and they have great drinks.
The food was good but it took two hours to get it.
we went here for new years eve. nice prix fixe menu.
Very disappointed with the entire experience. Open table omitted that the evening had a pre-fixed menu attached. Service was mediocre. Management did step to try and help out the situation.
We were there for NYE and really enjoyed the fixed menu and attentiveness of the staff, both at the bar and at our table. Couldn’t have asked for a more fun evening.
Our Sunday brunch experience was amazing. From the time we entered the establishment the staff did not miss anything. I will venture back in the near future.
Great service and the food was Phenomenal. Thos was our first time there, we wilk definitely be back
Very good food. Nice, trendy kind if spot. Looks like it would have a great, after work happy hour. Validated parking in garage under building. Service was friendly and attentive. Food plentiful in portion and very tasty!
Loved sitting at the high top table.
Valet parking is available at the front door!
Great bar, great variety of cocktails.
Also great for just drinks and apps.
It’s a decent go to if you happen to be in midtown. Otherwise it’s nothing memorable or special.
I was allowed to make reservations on Open Table. I showed up with cousin coming from all over the country to get together for Christmas to find that the restaurant was closed.
