579 Benefit Street Restaurant
The food was great though mine could have been a bit hotter. Service was outstanding! I do love this restaurant!
We had an excellent meal. There were six of us and we all had great meals. No complaints. Great night!
Tried 579 during restaurant week. The food was above average. I had a cod dish with a wonderful cream sauce, and my husband mentioned a few times how good his steak was. No complaints about apps or desserts. Our server was friendly and prompt. The set-up reminded us a bit of a NYC cafe or pub where the tables are lined up closely. It's a little tight when it's a full house. Worth a return visit though, maybe next time with some friends.
We came on a Thursday night, so it was not busy at all. The food was really good. The service, however, was slow. Despite the small number of tables, it took a long time for the server to come to our table. When we got dessert, it took 10 minutes to get spoons; even though we asked 2 different people. Our fiend ordered coffee, and it was brought with no cream or sugar. We waited almost 5 minutes before there was even an opportunity to ask someone for that, and then it took quite some time.
I am not sure the reason for all the delays, as it was not busy at all. I would be reluctant to go on a busy weekend night.
We were in the area and looking for a new restaurant to go to. This was a great choice. We chose to eat in the lounge area because the dining room did not look as cozy as the lounge did. The food was great and our service was good too. We will certainly return here to eat again.
Went to 579 Benefit St to celebrate a family members birthday. The waitress was very pleasant and patient with us as our group arrived. The food selection is very diverse and there were resturant week specials to die for. Everyone was pleased with their food selections and some even had enough to take home for another meal. The waitress even brought out a complimentary dessert for the Birthday Girl. Will definitely go back.
We went because they were participating in Providence Restaurant Week. The food was top-notch quality and service was outstanding! We loved it and will be back!
The food was very good, but the service was only okay. Our waitress did not seem happy to be there, and did not check in with us about our food. A manager did come to our table to see how things were, so I was able to tell him about a mistake in my order, which was very quickly fixed. I thought the portions were generous, and the food was quite good.
This is a nice addition for Pawtucket which is certainly not as active a food destination as Providence. The food is OK albeit a bit on the pricey side for the town. We opted for pizza, salad and a shrimp app. Personally Heritage Restaurant which is nearby has a competitive menu but fills up fast. Much more room in this place. I hope it survives.
This is my favorite restaurant for the quality of the food and excellent service. It’s always a great experience.
The staff was fantastic and the food was plentiful. We sat near the bar and our waitress was wonderful. Very clean and the restrooms were very clean also. Great night out. The food was delicious.
It is a little out of our way but this was our second visit. We both enjoyed our meals and the large bar area
Most people seemed to know someone there. We felt just a little out of the neighborhood! We will return however. It is easy to see why people return often.
Tuscany chicken a little tough. Have gone several times and will continue to make more appearances!
We have visited and enjoyed this restaurant many times, and last Saturday night was the best yet. The specials were great! the Service (Amy) was great; not hurried, but attentive! 579 is the first to come to mind when I'm asked "where do you want to eat tonight".
Great bar area. From the outside you'd never know how well done it is on the inside. Food is delicious! Hidden Gem!
went for thanksgiving buffet. Great food-great selection-great value
Food is very good but their sister restaurant’s food (very similar menu) is a little better. Prices are reasonable and locations is great. Wait staff is very attentive, bar staff can be a bit slow depending on the night. The bar ambience is excellent - we love the bar area. The dining room feels a bit uninviting. It’s very nice but a bit bright. Dimmer lighting would make it feel a bit cozier.
579 Benefit Street is a hidden gem! The food was excellent, creative and flavorful! Our server Ashley was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We will definitely be returning.
Would gmhave given 5 stars if calamari came to the table hot. It was lukewarm and so very disappointing. Salmon however, was hot and delicious. The prime rib was not hot either
I almost always get the short rib risotto, which is fabulous, but tonight tried the jambalaya and loved it. My new favorite!
The dining room is sedate. Little atmosphere but the food is great and consistent
My wife and I dine out often. So I guess you could say we are “picky”. We believe if you are paying for services rendered of any kind, you should get top notch service. With that said. This place is AWESOME! We made a Rez. On “open table”.
When we arrived we were greeted very cheerfully by a beautiful hostess. We were seated right away. Our waitress Amy, was phenomenal. Attentive but not bothersome. The service just kept getting better. Drinks came fast and fresh. The food came just as fast. The oysters were “buck a shuck” and instead of smaller oyster like other places these were FRESH and huge! We both had the prime rib. Cooked to perfection. Veggie was FRESH cooked. From beginning to end this was one of the best dining experiences we have EVER had!
I have been there 4 times and each time was better than the last. Food is amazing, staff is pleasant and attentive!
We did a Birthday Dinner and decided to try the Wine Tasting... It was so good to be able to try some new wines with the various dinners we ordered. Also the Tater Tot App was awesome!
Great wine tasting. Had Tuna steak salad. Delicious
The service was attentive and accommodating. We wanted to take advantage of half price apps but the lounge/bar was full and noisy so we were offered the specials in the restaurant.
Went for the wine tasting, for the first time-5 2oz pours, good value. The calamari and nacho apps were standard - have had the fig jam pizza before and highly recommend it!
The waiter could have been more attentive. We had to wait fir drinks & remind him that we needed refills. Also, previously, I had ordered the kabob trio with two scallop kabobs because I don’t like shrimp and they accommodated me. I tried to do the same this time and they told me they couldn’t do it. In my opinion, you should always accommodate the customer. I run a small business myself abs I never say no to a customer. Because if this I will not be going back to this restaurant.
Our server offered bread and forgot about it. We gave a gift card to pay for the bill and forgot about it too.
Hostess and server both did a great job attending to our needs. Food and drinks were great and support staff was outstanding, too!
I follow 579Benefit on Instagram and was excited to see their buckashuck offer all night on Thursday’s. On our way home from the North end of our State from a HS soccer game, my husband and I decided to try a place I’ve been wanting to for some tome. We walked in and to our dismay immediately felt under dressed. The Hosts were very gracious and welcoming and reassured us “no worries all dress accepted” and offered restaurant or lounge seating. We sat in the lounge (in a booth) and service food value timing—all outstanding. Oysters—delicious! If we didn’t live an hour away I’d be back tonight! Thank you for welcoming us so warmly.
I had been wanting to go to 579 Benefit since it opened. I knew it was owned by the Castiglioni Restaurant Group and I had dined with pleasure many times at the other locations. WHY did I wait so long?
My husband and I went on a quiet Thursday evening. We were seated right away in the middle of a spacious and comfortable dining room. Long banquettes were complemented with ample sized tables and sturdy chairs. It reminded me of classic bistro style but with more space. A soft light grey color scheme and a nice eclectic music selection completed the room. Elegant and relaxed at the same time.
Our waitress was cheerful and attentive. The service she provided earned her a generous tip.
The beef short rib risotto was with mushrooms, peas and marscapone cheese and finished with gremolata. The meat was fall apart tender and deeply flavored. The risotto rice was perfectly al dente. I asked for the gremolata on the side because I was unsure if my husband would enjoy the flavor profile. After two forkfuls of the entire dish he asked me if we could come back next week so he could have it again. LOVE!
My choice was an evening special. I was going to order the Bouillabaisse but when the waitress said "Monkfish" I couldn't resist. The preparation was a generous filet wrapped completely in prociutto and baked. It was cooked to perfection. When cut open the fish was exactly the appearance of lobster tail, silky smooth texture and moist. The plating was finished with delicious mashed potatoes, demi-glace sauce and sauteed spinach.
Classic creme brule for dessert and our dinner was complete.
Next time there I will visit the separate bar and lounge room.
Food was excellent.
Jason our waiter was over the top!
Great experience overall.
Grilled Meatloaf Delicious I had the Orange salmon It was Really Good just a Little undercooked in the Middle for my liking
Great food, good prices, service was not that good. We sat at the bar and the taps were in front of us so I think the bartenders forgot about us. We never got an appetizer we ordered and had a hard time getting our drinks refilled. The manager apologized and gave us a free desert.
Great Italian food! A little pricey for the location but would go back!
I have been wanting to try this place out and glad I finally did. It was a great meal - can't wait to go back
I said the noise level was energetic only because I chose to set in the bar area. The other side is great for a quiet night to just chat.
The appetizers and meals were delicious. The wait staff was friendly and attentive and the cocktails were great (and humongous)! Definitely going back!
This was an ok but not great visit to 579. It was restaurant week and the restaurant offered many of it’s regular menu choices at a special price. We were a party of four and chose 3 different entrees and 2 appetizers. The appetizers (General Tso’s cauliflower and Chicken Teriyaki) were delicious and arrived quickly. The entrees were not as predictable. Two diners ordered the Ginger Salmon dish, one risotto and one Bouillabaisse. About 20 mins after ordering the waitress returned to our table and apologized for the kitchen having run out of salmon and forced the two to choose other dishes. We understand that the kitchen will run out of specific items and only wonder why the waitress was not aware for 20 minutes...could it be that the order was not presented to the kitchen immediately? Not sure but it was disappointment #1. Once the alternative choice was made our dinners arrived within 5 minutes...almost too fast leading us to wonder if the meals were pre-made (shrimp tacos and fish and chips). Disappointments 2 and 3 were in the bouillabaisse which had 3 shellfish which didn’t open (usually these would be removed before serving) and the risotto and short rib in which the short ribs were dry and over cooked. Lastly I would say that our server was less than attentive. She was asked for vinegar when our meals were delivered and we finally asked another server passing by 5 minutes later for it instead.
All in all a disappointing night at what is usually a very consistent local place. Maybe the discounted Restaurant Week meals led to an overburdened kitchen and wait staff.
