Mother’s Day brunch
Party of 4 and we ate at 6pm on a Friday night. There was only one other table filled which was surprising but maybe because it was Good Friday. All of us enjoyed our meals. The hummus was very tasty. Would have liked to see slightly lower prices on the wine as it was $10 a glass as the lowest option. That said, I would still go back as the food was good and the place is unique and. It just another chain restaurant.
Great wine and meats and cheeses plate and live music.
Try the ice cream drizzled with African wine. Amazing!
Fun night all around!
Great food and music!!
A nice neighborhood place what also offers corkage. Will visit again.
My mother, my husband and I ate an early dinner after attending a matinee theater performance. The staff greeted us and sat us immediately. We were the first in the restaurant but later, more people showed up. We ordered shrimp and grits, mushroom risotto, pasta primavera, a caesar salad and a piece of carrot cake to share. It was all excellent! The helpings were generous and we took home leftovers. Previous reviews called it a hidden gem in historic downtown Carrollton and I thoroughly agree. We told other family members about our experience and hope that we can all go again. Don't pass up the opportunity to eat here!
Service was okay, but extremely SLOW. After waiting for so long for the waiter to take our order, we opted to just stick with a glass of wine and an appetizer. We skipped the entree and went someplace else.
Food took way too long to come out. Prices were way too high for the quality of food served. And overall I hated it.
Food and wine are delicious!!
Such an adorable, quaint little restaurant. I love this place - he décor, the hominess. Have been here many times and will continue to go back. I had the butternut squash soup and 1/2 sirloin sandwich - delicious! The host/waiter was very attentive and anticipated all our needs.
It was "good" but nothing special. I won't go again because there are so many superior restaurants in Dallas.
Food and wine, and service, are always great - we enjoy every wine and every food we order.
Always delicious food, always friendly service, always wonderful wine! Can't beat this place for an enjoyable evening!
The location was very convenient for my party coming from different areas. The food was good. The service was very attentive.
Always a pleasant time and great food. We love popping in after work for Happy hour
I love small, mom and pop restaurants and 55 degrees is definitely that. And I really wanted to like this place. But the service was pretty much non existent. It appeared that they were maybe short on staff and we had to stand at the entry for too long before a harried gentleman finally came up to us. “We’re not seating anyone without a reservation” was his greeting to us. I told him we had a reservation and he grumbled something and took us to a table in the back by the kitchen. We got water right away but sat for a while and had to ask for menus. A nicer but harried looking lady came and took our wine order and then we waited too long to get the wine. We finally ordered dinner and waited. Our glasses were emptied for quiet a while with no refill offered and we waited. Then finally the food came out and it was delicious. But still no wine refills and no follow up service. I finally caught the older gentleman’s eye to ask for our bill and he grumbled that we just go to the front desk area to pay. We did and we waited. And waited. Finally he came back and took my card.
These appear to be well meaning folks who maybe don’t understand the service concept of the restaurant biz. Even though they may have been short staffed, they could have been nice to us and we would have understood. But the grumbling, no smiling, no follow up for empty wine glasses and such was pretty off putting. I wish these hard working folks better luck in the future but I strongly suggest that they up their game a little. A smile is easy and free. Grumbling and treating people as if they are a nuisance won’t ever be ok in the food service biz.
We came here for Father's Day and really enjoyed our meal. The staff was really flexible and helpful as we were a large party and had small children.
Service was great. Very friendly and welcoming! Live music went well with the good wine!
What a cozy place! Great music, food and wine for a great price! Great neighborhood location.
Super great people running this place and the food was awesome. I had the bucatini. Perfectly spiced i
This little gem quietly sitting in downtown Carrollton was absolutely amazing. They are simply marvelous there! Food and service by far exceeded my expectations! The in-house made almonds are addicting, and the tapas are a must as well! Definitely gotta go back for brunch!
This is a cute little restaurant in the heart of downtown Carrollton. So glad I found this place. We tried the pumpkin spice pancakes and beef enchiladas-both delicious. Can’t wait to go back!
This is our go-to spot!!! We always enjoy the food, wine and service! Even when there’s live music, the noise level is never uncomfortable.
This was our first experience at a wine bar and it was fantastic! We went to listen to a local singer perform and the atmosphere was great for such the performance. Food was wonderful. We will definitely return and tell others of this place.
The food is always so delicious. Nothing we have ever ordered here has been disappointing. It's a great place for a nice dinner with decent wine.... The staff is very attentive and really tries to make sure you are satisfied.
This is a little gem in Carrollton and we were lucky to find it on Open Table. If you get a chance, take the time to stop and enjoy a small hometown cooked meal.
Excellent service in a quiet, cozy atmosphere. Lots of selections for everyone. Better than expected.
My wife and I had dinner at 55 Degrees for an anniversary. Overall we enjoyed our evening. The staff was very attentive and we were well taken care of. The live music was a surprise treat and had we not been trying to get to another event on time, we would have stayed longer. We may go back just for dessert, music, and relaxation.
Good stuff. Absolutely perfect for people who want to support local businesses.
The service was top notch.
Went because of all the raving reviews, but me and my date were disappointed. The owner and his wife were very attentive. Nice folks. Dinner was nothing to write home about. Both the dinner and wine menu are limited compared to other options.
Fabulous food! Fabulous service! Owners are great! They offer wines you don’t normally see on a wine list. Great tapas options.
What a gem this restaurant is. I've been here 3 times and everything I've had has been wonderful. The owner and wait staff are excellent and so very accommodating. I meet with a friend for lunch in the area every month and this is now our go to place. We both love it.
Owners take it personal to serve you right and make sure the quality of food is excellent.
This potentially charming restaurant has a need for more staff. The wait time upon arrival on a late, Friday evening was unnecessary. With about 15 customers already seated anyone could see that was a challenge for the owners to keep up with. Once seated there were spans of 8-10 minutes of being left unattended to. Felt a bit ignored and undervalued as a customer but still tried to give this place a chance to redeem itself. Unfortunately the night and service did not get better. Some of the tapas were overcooked and it took more than 7 minutes to get a refill of water. The only charming part of this visit was the almost overly friendly chef who made it a point to greet diners. Willing to give this place another chance but will only go for the wine and live music.
Reasonably priced wines and a great cheese board. Perfect place to have a glass of wine and some light food with friends
Very pleasant location. Nice atmosphere and the food was excellent.
We had an appointment at the Spa on the square, so the location was perfect! I had been there for lunch and the brunch was just as delicious!
Pleasantly surprised. Adorable, wine bar that is not pretentious. Very inviting with great food.
Small, quaint restaurant with only a few tables. The food was excellent, you could really tell that everything was made fresh to order. The charcuterie plate was fantastic and the mac and cheese was cooked perfectly! The wine selection was great and the prices on the bottles of wine was some of the cheapest I have seen around town! The staff is so nice and you really feel like they are so happy to cook and serve you! We will definitely add this to our restaurant rotation as it was that great of an experience!
And, on Friday nights they have live music which played oldie but goodies you love to hear!
