Very nice place
Great waitstaff. Very friendly and welcoming. Food was excellent. Especially loved the tripe.
Out of Towner was very pleased with the on-line reservation system. Also, the table was ready at the time of our reservation, and the food and service was outstanding.
Food was amazing but the waiter knew it was our first time there, did not tell us prices of things he was offering and mislead us, failed to notify us of a cake fee even though we only asked for a few more plates and forks so I could cut it, and overall we felt very deceived upon exit as we ended up being charged an additional, unwarranted $34 on the tab that unfortunately couldn’t be argued against as it was all what the waiter offered and brought
Pre theater. Great fun, pastas a bit too salty for me. But salads were delish but hard to converse in basement
It was a day downtown San Francisco. It is well located near Market Street but the surrounding streets are packed with homeless people. Parking is complicated as street parking is dangerous and I garages are expensive. Restaurant was good, high energy ambiance and good food. Good flavor and hearty tomato flavoring.
Made lunch reservation “San Francisco restaurant week”. It was supposed to be a fixed menu.
Waitress claimed the fixed menu was not available in the weekend.
Ordered from the brunch menu. Food was well prepared, good presentation and tasty. I still left with a bad taste in my mouth. Not sure if I will return.
Traveled from the Bay Area looking forward to a “special meal” It was not to be.
Terribly disappointing. Ate here with my boyfriend, service was very slow. It took an hour after our appetizers to get our main course. The ribeye steak lacked flavor and tasted like charbroil coal. We asked for steak sauce, the waiter laughed and said they didn’t have any. I ordered pasta. The noodles were great but the sauce was overpowered with capers and olives. The server didn’t offer Parmesan cheese after serving my pasta dish. The patio heater went dead. We asked to turn it on but they never did. We recommend you getting food elsewhere!
The freshly made pasta is amazing. Remember to ask pricing on their specials.
Awesome service, awesome food - all five of us cleaned our plates, we shared two desserts which were to die for and the best part was we didn't feel stuffed or bloated. Cocktails were served in the tiniest glasses so if you want a martini, order two. Music was loud making it hard to hear each other but other than tiny drinks and loud music, great Italian food and service.
8 of us ate in the wine seller. It’s dimly lit (which I love) and cozy/romantic. The service was very good. The staff was friendly. We all had a pasta dish except for one person who had lamb. All the food was very good.
Great food and a great price for restaurant week in SF
My wife and I were in San Francisco to see a play. We enjoyed the restaurant. The service was excellent. We had a young waiter that had recently moved here from Rome, Italy. He was personal and attentive. My wife loved her avacado toast with crab and eggs. I had French toast which was fine. I had a side of sausage which was rather bland. We would definitely try 54 Mint again.
We were so excited to return to 54 Mint after such a long time. And we were very, very pleased to see that it is still a wonderful place to dine - the menu is varied and everything we ordered was excellent. Their Oxtail is THE BEST.
The pasta was delectable (especially the gnocchi ragu) and the salad yummy. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the service was attentive. Perfect before theater.
Braised tripe was tender and served in a simple, flavorful tomato sauce. We tried 2 pasta dishes: the gnocchi were pillow-y soft and delicious while the cacio o pepe was creamy, peppery and perfectly al dente.
Wonderful dinner. Enjoyed everything we ordered and for the price, the quality matched or exceed our expectations. Dining was beautiful. Would love to come here again.
We came across 54 Mint randomly, when at the last minute we began looking for a restaurant in the vicinity. What a treasure! Charming ambience, attentive service, and exceptional food. Our waiter recommended the calamari appetizer and I am so glad he did. Portions were generous - we could have split an appetizer and (with an entree) still had plenty to eat. Oh, and if they have the fried potatoes as a side, get them. Get them and enjoy their crispy, slightly salty, rosemary-flavored almost-certainly-fried-in-duck-fat deliciousness.
We've been to 54 mint many times. Love their wine selection, great pasta and unique cocktails, great wines by the glass as well. this time we were seated in the downstairs, and crammed a party of 3 into a table for 2. And we had to ask for the background music to be turned down as it was so loud. But food and service were excellent as always. I just think the downstairs should be for groups and not smaller parties. Other than that a wonderful Pre-theater evening and we'll go back again, but ask to be seated upstairs.
Very nice ambience and food selection. The service was exceptional. I would totally go back
Great Sunday brunch on the patio, great DJ & music, amazing service!!
The corkage fee was a little high. All in all the food was delicious.
Food was not up to normal standards. The food pre-Covid was authentically Italian. Now it is not. Price value is way off. Cocktails were 90% ice and 10% cocktail. Would not recommend.
Enjoyed our meal.
Food was good but a bit over priced for pasta dishes without much of any proteins in them, however, the dishes had good flavor. It was difficult to carry a conversation as it was quite loud throughout the evening given the small space. All in all a good experience but still over priced.
True northern Italian feel and cuisine. A must for the short list
This was an unbelievably fantastic experience from the time we arrived until we left. The servers were attentive and polite. The food was out of this world fantastic!! We shared all four courses with wine pairings and were pleasantly surprised. Some wines I had not tried, but paired beautifully. B we sure to try a craft cocktail as they are amazing!!!
We had such a great dinner at 54 Mint. The pasta dishes were delish and the bartender made the best old fashion for my husband. Highly recommend this place!
Food was very fresh flavors and delicious.. lucky to have a late warm evening to linger on the patio and enjoy the ambiance
Our reservation for 4 was significantly delayed; which was fine until they said they only have a 2 person table. They said they would move us to a 4 person table once one opened up. Of course, this rarely happens once you're seated, used the silverware, touched napkins, etc (especially during a pandemic). The server provided little to no detail on the menu items and was completely helpless with the outdoor heater. I've been to 54 Mint several times over the years and it's been as expected - decent Italian food, good location, reasonable priced. We will not be going back.
Great dining experience.
The risotto was way too salty that I couldn’t finish at all. The waiter was kinda pushy instead of sincere when “upselling” us the special dishes.
Food was fabulous! The only problem I had was the wood burning outside heaters. They gave off a lot of smoke which is not good for the environment and I kept coughing from them… Which was embarrassing because everyone thought I was sick! They could not even turn them off because once the wood started burning they just had a burn out on their own. They need to replace them!
We love this restaurant. We relive our Rome visit as we take bite after bite of caccio e pepe! We share an appetizer, pasta dish, and the fish of the day. The barolo by glass is delicious, too!
We sat outside and enjoyed the live music.
Had a wonderful time. Staff could not have been nicer.
Food is always delicious.
Great food, very nice people, good music on sunday
Great food and service. Highly recommend!!
We reserved but didn’t get a table on time, although there was an empty table for half an hour (which we get at the end),
Sitting outside is cold. They have oil heaters that doesn’t work properly - we came back smelling like a fire camp.
Food is ok, not amazing.
We asked for the bill 3 times. On the 4th time we just had to get up so we get some notice.
Expansive, and not worth it.
I had the BUCATiNi all'AMATRiCiANA and my friend had GNOCCHi al RAGÙ di MANZO. They were both excellent.
