Excelente food, wine, place and restaurant crew 👏🏻
Love the pasta!
i must say although a bit set back fro main stream I did find it and what a wonderful peaceful lunch
So delicious! Second time there and every bit as good as I remember. Salvadore, our waiter was amazing and we had a great time! I highly recommend ordering with the intention of family style sharing so you get to try lots of different dishes. Don't miss the pasta with pepper. Sounds simple but is out of this world! Bon Apetite!!
Welcoming, bright, fun spot tucked in Mint Alley.
Very professional, wait staff, specially our attentive server Marco enhanced our experience
Food was delicious, well prepared, hot, and served with panache.
We were not rushed and treated like welcome guests.
Would definately return.

Fantastic experience at 54 Mint. Food was amazing and authentically Roman And service was attentive and friendly and warm. Outstanding wine list featuring Italian wines.
The pastas are not good- we ordered the risotto and the spaghetti and both were subpar
Great authentic rustic, northern Italian vibe. Simply prepared yet creative choices across a well balanced menu. Excellent choice of wines by the glass to match with your food choices.
Very plain for the price you pay. Wanted a nice restaurant for a double date, one night in SFO. Pasta was sort of like spaghetti with salt & pepper, or spaghetti with tomato sauce. Nothing outstanding about it except for the price. Appetizers and cocktails were good.
Authentic Roman style Italian food. Nice bar and great food. Will definitely go back!
BEST spaghetti carbonara in SF so far of all I’ve tried here.
Came here for a team lunch and was surprised at how beautifully decorated it was inside, many of us commented on how great the ambiance was -- very light and airy and it wasn't too loud that we couldn't hold a conversation across a large table with 7 people.
Service was top-notch, our waiter was able to accommodate our various dietary restrictions which were a bit complicated for an Italian restaurant. He even took the time to double-check ingredients with the chef.
We ordered a variety of dishes and shared the BRUSCHETTA ai RiCCi di MAR to start. That was an interesting combination of uni with the burrata. We also tried a rice ball, tomato, basil concoction (SUPPLì) which was one of my favorites.
We ordered different items, I only tried the gnocchi and my own FETTUCCiNE al ROMANESCO. The gnocchi was very filling with a tasty tomato sauce. I liked the fetuccine but I didn't think was super delicious, maybe I just needed some more salt but nothing really stood out for me taste-wise.
Easter Sunday. Great food and service. Set menu was fantastic
Thought the food was even better than previous visits. Upstairs ambiance much better than downstairs, which can be cold.
great ambiance, great food, excellent service, authentic cuisine,
Only downfall was sharing a table with another group. It didn’t interrupt dinner but was unexpected and made for an awkward start.
Delicious food, prompt & efficient service, pleasant ambiance. Highly recommended.
great to visit likeit
It is very loud, but other than that, it’s perfect!
All of the food was very tasty andthe staff was very accommodating. It was a nice night out.
great spot with great food and service. Can't go wrong at 54 Mint.
54 Mint is a hidden gem in SF. You will not find better Italian food served with more enthusiasm and pride than is offered by the staff here. It is so delicious that we have learned to order family style so we can taste everyone else's choice. Their seasonal variations make this a dynamic menu that reflects the earth's best offerings. Both vegetarian and nondairy folks can find a large selection of dishes, though they would surely miss out by not trying the grilled octopus and oxtail selections. Even the bartender worked hard to find us the right "dry" vermouth and a perfect not-too-sweet moscato rosa. Most delicious birthday dinner ever--Thank you 54 Mint!
Fabulous trendy yet earthy, simple yet food-luxury, extremely tasty experience. Wonderful find in San Francisco in the Mint district. Daily specials were super good and very tasty. Excellent service. Good wines.
Will definitely come back!
The food was unique and delicious but very expensive. For 2: $130.00 without wine! for 1 appetizer and 1 pasta each, 1 dessert and no 'secondi' meat or fish dish. Not worth it unless money is no object
ANTIPASTI - We had fresh mozzarella and crispy broccolini, incredible - though we had hoped the cheese had a bit more flavor. Warm octopus and fingerling potatoes are also a GREAT choice.
MAIN - i had the risotto - simple, light and exquisite. Perfectly al dente and the taste of fennel was incredible without being overbearing. He had the carbonara, it’s creamy and basically everything you want out of this dish. Portions are just right.
DRINKS - i had the L’espresso, espresso with Frangelico and coffee flavored vodka. We both had wine, but i let the server choose for me since we’re not wine connoisseurs (:
DESSERT - i had Panna cotta, SO smooth and creamy. Perfectly sweet and topped with balsamic. He got the chocolate cake which is mildly sweet and a perfect finish to a meal. I also had a cappuccino, which had incredible foam on top.
Very well designed restaurant, welcoming and kind staff, excellent BTG selection,
My husband and I had been wanting to go to this restaurant for a long time and had never gotten around to it. The food was good but not exceptional. The service, on the other hand, was perfect...including a lovely Italian accent.
The upstairs dining area was almost empty when we arrived, but still we were seated to a same table with another couple. We asked to get another table and they arranged that. Service was good, but our main course took longer than expected. The fish of the day was fine, but the vegetarian pasta was a disappointment - dry pasta missing some flavours.
Great authentic food. Great service.
Not sure what to say other than It was fine. Not terrible, not great. I wouldn't refuse to go back, but I wouldn't propose it or rush there. Service was charming in its own way, but a little harried (can't really blame him, there was an enormous private party going on upstairs, so the smaller basement seating area was packed). White wine was warmer than it should have been, bread was so-so - which I only comment on bc it's an Italian place, so the bread could be expected to be on point (and I think they make it in house?). Interesting, off-the-beaten-path location, and seemed to have a nice bar.
The food was amazing, we were in town for a trade show and it was recommended by customer.
The food was great, amazing oils, salads, fish, all top notch! The service was impeccable, 5 star for sure!
Highly recommend! You can dress up or dress casual.
Good food, service was rushed. Arrived at 8:45 and Saturday night crowd was clearing out. Waiter started pushing us to order before taking our wine order. Decent Italian food but with a Parisian attitude. Most likely will not go back. Too many other good choices for Italian in San Francisco.
Portions were too small for pasta - even for California. They could have provided more. Seemed a little greedy.
Wonderful dinner there for my mom's b-day. Grilled octopus melted in our month. fried smelt was delicious, pasta carbonero and oxtail dinner were so good. did get crowded and noisy as the evening went on but I guess the price of living in a big city.
What a FABULOUS meal! I asked if it was was possible to have gnocchi with Bolognese sauce( which wasn’t on the menu). The manager came right over and made it happen. It was SO excellent! Delicious Italian wine as well. My dinner partner has to be very careful with what she eats—allergies, etc.,. The manager spent a good amount of time patiently consulting and helping her make a decision. Her Risotto was magnificent! We were both thrilled with 54 Mint. Thanks for an extraordinary meal and experience!!
Wine recommendation was spot on. The food was delicious and love the ambiance.
Excellent experience. Great way to celebrate our 20th anniversary.
Outstanding food and drinks. From manager to servers to bus help, the staff hustles and strives mightily to please. Impossible not to love this joint.
