Charming space, attentive staff and delicious food!
Service was excellent as was the food. I’ve been visiting San Francisco for 4 days now. This is my forth restaurant I’ve eaten at. All the restaurant were good. But this has been the best. I had the pork chops and my spouse had salmon. For the dessert had tiramisu and cappuccino. Reservations are a must as the restaurant has limited seating .
Communal table in the basement distracted from the dining experience
Nice rooms (despite being in underground), you feel well. Service friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Food superb and authentic.
Great location, great service, great food, but so noisy it was hard to have a good conversation with my dinner guests.
Excellent lunch location with nice sidewalk patio option. Pastas were exceptional and unique. Can’t go wrong with this location.
We love this place! Great for a business dinner or date, walkable location from all the downtown hotels/Mosconi. Menu has staples and also rotates in seasonal options. Staff is also excellent!
54 Mint never disappoints. The food fresh and delicious. I've never had a bad meal there.
It is authentic Italian food. Simple, quality ingredients, delicious.
The restaurant is nice enough. Food was quite good. The area feels dangerous to a single woman. I came down the alley to the restaurant and would not do that again.
When we were dropped off by our UBER, we first thought...where are we? But walked into a delightful, delicious experience. Our waiter listened to what we liked in a wine, asked our price point and delivered a bottle that was spot on! We split two starters: smelts and the romanesco flan and were so full we opted to split the halibut special for our entree. Wonderful evening. Only drawback? We were seated right behind the hostess stand resulting in chit chat we didn’t need to hear! Cheers-
Wonderful authentic food. will return and recommend to people who want to taste Italy
Wonderful service and dinner. Perfect wine recommendations, too
High quality Italian food and drinks. Great service.
Ambience is nice and service is excellent. Food is good but just a little too salty for my palette.
We've been here a few times before. Came here after a movie at the Century. The food was good, probably 3 1/2 stars. The appetizers were mostly good - smelts, panzanella, octopus & bufala. some better than others. For the pasta: gnocchi & panccheri. The gnocchi with pork sugo was good. Both people though the panccheri with mushrooms was bland & tasteless. Nice cocktail menu.
Great restaurant! Staff is amazing! Food is amazing! And very close to the Golden Gate Theater
We were running a little late due to the train schedule. The hostess was a bit annoyed that we didn't ring to let them know and was a little snarky. We were going to see a show so we rushed through dinner and ran to the theater. The server was great and was quick to get our order in. The food was amazing. I would like to come back when we have more time.
I could not have planned a better experience if I tried. There were three of us in the party, but two of us arrived 30 mins early. It was only going to be two of us but another friend was able to come and the hostess accommodated our addition at the last minute. We were offered drinks while we waited for our third party out on the patio area. I was told that they did not provide service there and I would have to order the drinks at the bar and bring them out myself. No big deal, but when I went to get the drinks the bartender walked them out! I had heard from a fellow diner that the food is excellent, but try to sit upstairs due to the concrete floors downstairs it is rather noisy. When the hostess came to seat us, I was about to mention the possibility of sitting upstairs, because I had forgot to mention that... before I could even ask, she showed us to our table upstairs. The three of us can only rave about our meals. One individual in my party had a restriction that was not only accommodated, but our waiter then inquired if there were any other restrictions etc., before he placed our orders.
The entire staff, from hostess, bartender, waiter, and bus people was truly focused on customer service and exceptional.
I will be recommending this restaurant to all my friends and hope they have a chance to experience the terrific food and service that made the evening so special for myself and my friends.
Marco the manager was amazing. Phenomenal service and delicious food. Would definitely recommend.
Yummy food and service. Fresh and local
Fabulous like always from the hostess to our waiter !
Vera cucina romana!
Pappardelle w Porcini Mushrooms and Butternut Squash was delicious although I would have preferred it w/o the butternut or the Pomegranate garnish, Octopus was tender and just luscious . Our waiter Nicola was a true professional and recommended the perfect wines to go w the meal.
Amazing food, great service, and cool ambiance. Affordable prices for what you get.
My new go to for Italian food! Loved it and recommended friends to go already! Perfect italien everything from the wine the food to the digestives and dessert!
Food was great. Service was good but felt a little rushed
Buona cucina italiana, ambiente simpatico, giusto rapporto qualità/prezzo
It is an Italian restaurant. The restaurant was quite full when we arrived. Two staff were serving and one or two others cleaning tables after other diners had finished. We were given menus and a wine list and some water was ordered and delivered. We were then ignored for a good tn to fifteen minutes while the two servers attended to other diners. The owner/manager then served us and apologised for the delay. We shared heirloom tomatoes with burrata for a starter. While it was okay, we have had better at the Nordstrom restaurant Bazille in the Westfield Complex San Francisco and at Tessa in New York. My wide had salmon. It was a generous serve rich and tasty with the salmon cooked more the medium requested. I had the steak which was again generous with far too many fries, but cooked less than the mdium rare I requested. It was still quite good although again I had a far better same steak at Tessa in New York.
The wines were excellent and the creme brulee delicious.
We got the lamb chops and pasta caccio e pepe. Both were delish, service was great. Highly recommend!
Great food. Friendly servers.
We had a wonderful table downstairs. We were heading to a musical and they They kept us on time but not rushed. Food was fabulous !! Smelts, heirloom salad, lamb chops to die for!!
The food was excellent. We were "downstairs" because there was a private party upstairs. The problem: the air conditioned dripped water on my friend's head 2 times. She finally asked if we could be moved as this was uncomfortable. The waiter never offered. We moved to new seats. With a problem like that, I think we should have been offered free drinks or a free appetizer. NONE were offered.
Great menu, staff, and food. They put a lot into making the experience.
My teenager and I head to this restaurant before our musicals at the Golden Gate Theater because we’ve always had an excellent experience. When I tell her the restaurant I booked, she always goes yay! Great food and service at reasonable prices. We tend to over-order because of too many appealing choices. So beware, you will over eat, but you will leave satiated, content and will will still get to the theater on time.
Had a delicious birthday dinner!
Food was fairly good. Most of the party enjoyed it. The device was fair. Multiple times we had to ask for water. Our waiter was very good and staff people were friendly and nice but cone on... asking for water?!?
Service is great! Location is convenient for a pre-show dinner. Food is OK. We had a sea urchin bruschetta . The combination, sea urchin with burrata on toast, does not really work. Seafood risotto, that day's special, was good but not special. The ribeye was the most disappointing. It was thin with little taste. I might give this restaurant a second chance and order different dishes.
We had theater plans for 7 pm, and I arrived at 5:30. I explained how we needed to leave by 6:30, and they were understanding and accommodating. My brother was late and arrived at 6. Nevertheless, they served our cocktails, apps and entrees promptly but without the feeling of being rushed. They asked in advance what time we were aiming to leave and brought the check at that time. This was a fabulous experience for what could have been a stressful evening. They reassured me that they would take care of everything and were incredibly gracious about our requests and questions about ingredients in the meal. The food was delicious and fresh. The atmosphere is lovely - Mint Plaza is a pretty little SoMa secret too. I would highly recommend dining here.
We go here frequently and like it very much. The staff always pleasant and welcoming.
Food VERY good.
Since I like a Cab, was disappointed in their full bodied wine selection, although the waiter tried very hard to please me.
We (four of us) like to go here prior to performances at the Golden Gate Theatre, but sad to say we may not return since the few blocks we walk are laden with "street people" who have become very intimidating (i.e. crazies nearing us, rambling on & on)
