5 Napkin Burger - Upper West Side Ratings and Reviews
The servers were very friendly and smily all the time. Burger was very juicy. We would love to go back again for the burgers and maybe try their milkshakes. Table next to us order milkshakes that look super delicious. In addition, very convenient for couples to go for a date. AMC movie theater is right across 5 Napkins Burger.
The burgers here stand on their own--no sides included here--and they are so good it doesn't matter. We had a high-school age German exchange student with us, and he wanted the best burger we could find. We had some good ones in the run up to this, but nothing compares to 5NB!
Made a reservation but waited 20 minutes before we got seated. If reservations are not going to be honored, why offer reservation options?
While being called, after our table was ready, could not hear hostess calling our name. We were standing 5 feet from the hostess stand. You'd think hostess would come out of her stand and tell us.
Service (drinks were empty for 8 minutes) was gotten worst but the food continues to be very good.
Got there and the kitchen had closed early due to mechanical problems. We were told we could have a drink but no food was available.
The ladies at the desk were very self-involved, unhelpful, and insensitive to patrons who were coming in with reservations and expecting to eat.
No apologies about the inconvenience, or offers to make alternative arrangements, ...... not even a sincere look. They couldn’t be bothered with the needs or perceptions of the patrons.
The most overvalued restaurant in NYC.
I ordered the most expensive burger in the neighborhood and it arrived with no dressings in a single plate!
Everything was very expensive and the waitress even tried to joke me for bigger tip!!
Bad experience for visitors!!!
Very disappointing. I know it's a burger joint, but when you are paying these prices, one would expect a bit of a step up. It took forever for the food to arrive, and when it did, it wasn't as hot as it should have been. We were told that they had to make up some more turkey burgers which sure doesn't wound like an extra 30 minute process. The service was inept. What is so difficult in knowing who ordered which burger? I had the tuna burger. My piece of tuna must have come from a very small baby fish! My dinner mates had a turkey burger and beef burger, which were just OK. Nothing very special. We also had the onion ring tower & the Brussel Sprouts. For the price, they could have been a bit more generous with the onion rings. The Brussel Sprouts were adequate and tasty. We were 3 people and spent close to $100 - for burgers! Yikes!
Went to 5 Napkin Burger after I married my fiancé in Central Park. Booked ahead of time, 17 seats all together in one long table. Fantastic. The food was great and waiting staff fantastic, however we had issues with the manager at the end as we wanted to split the bill several ways and was told we couldn't. Turns out we could, but the manager didn't want to actually do anything about it. Very condescending man who, after I questioned him about the bill issue, told me I didn't know everything because I was a "newlywed". Extremely offensive, but I ignored his comments. He was more interested in chatting with his friends and finishing his milkshake than solving our problem. That aside the food was extremely good, one of the best burgers I have ever had. Bacon cheddar. The milkshakes are stunning too. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for food or drink in the Upper West Side, just ignore the manager who needs to check his sass at the door whenever he comes into work.
The food was fantastic. The service was brutal. It was fairly late in the evening and it felt like the servers had already called it a night. Pretty much the only time the service was efficient was when I decided to grab cutlery from a nearby table rather than waiting for someone to come by and notice we had nothing to eat our salads with.
So many raves and I don't get it. The burger starts at $14 which seems pricey. I ordered the 5 Napkin Burger ( Cheese, caramelized onions, hamburger and bun). The cheese and the onions were melted into each other and I ended up taking off the cheese in one full slice and as a result had no onions. Overall, the people were nice and sitting outside was fun for people watching but the burger was underwhelming.
