5 Napkin Burger - Upper West Side Ratings and Reviews
Made a reservation to be sure our party of 5 did not get jammed onto a 4 top table - upon arrival the hostess seemed confused about our reservation and we ended up with a 4 top and a chair in the main traffic pattern in and out of the kitchen ... the exact scenario I was trying to avoid. The food was great and our server was excellent - the situation seating was extremely uncomfortable and detracted from my experience.
Service was very bad. We didn't get all our food at the same time, had to wait for a couple of sides that arrived after we'd almost finished. That would have been ok but the server wasn't apologetic and acted like we were being annoying for asking about the food.
The burgers and fries were great, as usual. My son said his beer was a little flat. The service was good, not spectacular, but the wait staff took care of business. There was no rush to surrender the table even though business was brisk. It's a little loud, but not like it drowns out conversation. But it is not the place you go for quiet, intimacy. Good for a father and son catch-up.
The servers were very friendly and smily all the time. Burger was very juicy. We would love to go back again for the burgers and maybe try their milkshakes. Table next to us order milkshakes that look super delicious. In addition, very convenient for couples to go for a date. AMC movie theater is right across 5 Napkins Burger.
The burgers here stand on their own--no sides included here--and they are so good it doesn't matter. We had a high-school age German exchange student with us, and he wanted the best burger we could find. We had some good ones in the run up to this, but nothing compares to 5NB!
Made a reservation but waited 20 minutes before we got seated. If reservations are not going to be honored, why offer reservation options?
While being called, after our table was ready, could not hear hostess calling our name. We were standing 5 feet from the hostess stand. You'd think hostess would come out of her stand and tell us.
Service (drinks were empty for 8 minutes) was gotten worst but the food continues to be very good.
Got there and the kitchen had closed early due to mechanical problems. We were told we could have a drink but no food was available.
The ladies at the desk were very self-involved, unhelpful, and insensitive to patrons who were coming in with reservations and expecting to eat.
No apologies about the inconvenience, or offers to make alternative arrangements, ...... not even a sincere look. They couldn’t be bothered with the needs or perceptions of the patrons.
The most overvalued restaurant in NYC.
I ordered the most expensive burger in the neighborhood and it arrived with no dressings in a single plate!
Everything was very expensive and the waitress even tried to joke me for bigger tip!!
Bad experience for visitors!!!
