417 Union
We serve classic American fare with an emphasis on Southern traditions. Like many of our favorite Southern cooks who came before us, we are inspired to build on this culinary foundation with new innovations every season. We are proud to bring a variety of fresh, high-quality food to the Nashville community, as we have for eleven years and counting. We love to draw on the bounty of ingredients produced in Middle Tennessee, and we buy local whenever possible. Nashville bakery Provence provides all our sandwich breads, and our famous house blend coffee is fair trade and organic.

Awesomeness. Always consistent. More locals should try it out. But definitely visitors should check it out.
Love this place, we eat here for Brunch every time we come to Nashville. Great food, good variety and excellent service.
Server was great. Food was cold no flavor and I will not be returning
417 Is a wonderful place to enjoy great food and be greeted and serviced with hometown/friendly staff.
Loved everything about it!!
Wonderful food, excellent service.
Great food and friendly service from Lindsey from GA. Our tour guide Mike recommended this place and it was awesome!
I would highly recommend! Food & circuses are 5 stars! Bartender was exceptional and directed us to the craft cocktail that suited us perfectly. The catfish and chicken were both outstanding! Chocolate chip cookies...you’ll just have to go and check it out!
The chicken and waffles wasn’t good. I did not enjoy because there was no seasoning and the breading was falling off the chicken.
Amazing service and good food. The prices matched the taste and overall good experience.
There was very few people in the upstairs when we arrived, yet it was exceptionally loud. It took about 30 minutes to get a drink that was initially sent to a different table. Th wait staff seemed pretty clueless and the food came out cold.
This place was quite a find. Really southern cooking and each dish was delicious. I had the country ham in corkscrew pasta carbs sea that was insane tasting Also old military pictures all over the restaurant was so interesting to peruse. Definitely recommend giving 417 Union a try. We loved it
We have never been to 417 Union. We had made reservations for 5:30and we got there at 5:10. We was seated promply. It was to our surprise that this hidden jem was wonderful. The food was GREAT along with the service. Everyone in our party was talking about 417 Union all night and how they said they would return there again for dinner. I have also heard they have a wonderful breakfast.
Underwhelmed. Fried chicken was dry.
Go elsewhere they too many other choices in Nashville.
Great local spot for a quick and casual breakfast. Nothing fancy just good food.
I had the chicken and waffles. It was very crispy and not soggy at all. Also I tried the jelly which is homemade from different berries. Overall it was a great experience.
Awesome food. Zach our waiter was cool! Thanks!
They had a set menu for valentines and the food wasn’t good. Pasta I ordered was so salty I couldn’t eat it and I love salt and tend to over salt things! Service was slow too but it wasn’t crowded at all.
Food was great, Shannon was the best but the table of 10 should have gone to an outdoor restaurant where their obnoxious loud conversations would not have had people moving. Otherwise this is a gem with great staff and good food.
Had a very nice Valentines dinner at 417 Union
Service was excellent and nice vibe to the place. A limited menu being Valenties so not sure how the food is on the normal menu but was a very nice time and I would recommend it
Extremely salty and overcooked
We had a wonderful time at 417 Union! The food was delicious and our service was over the top! Thanks to the manager Leslie for making our experience memorable.
Waiter was nice. Food was “meh”. Pretty sure their mashed potatoes were boxed. We both got the “Southern Comfort Dinner” - chicken fried steak and fried chicken. Food came out REALLY fast yet was not even that hot. Banana pudding and chicken & rice soup was good. Overall, we could have gone to Cracker Barrel and enjoyed the food more and paid less.
We had a wonderful office breakfast with great, fun service. We will be back!
Gnats were flying in our food. Food was cold and basic diner food.
Awesome breakfast food, had chicken and waffles plus pancakes and eggs.
Get the chicken and waffles with bacon. The bacon is INSIDE the waffle!! Most amazing chicken and waffles I’ve ever eaten
The food was excellent - classic southern with a twist, and the service was friendly and welcoming.
Awesome experience! Great food and great service by Asia. Ended up going back for breakfast the following day.
Such a wonder ambiance. The wait staff was outstanding and it was obvious great care was taken in preparing our food. Everyone loved their meals.
Restaurant was not crowded yet it still took over 2 hours to get in and out of there for lunch. Over 45 minutes to get appetizers. They said their kitchen was backed up but we didn’t understand why because again, it wasn’t crowded. They didn’t seem very concerned about the terrible service either. After all if that, the food was not great. The chicken club tasted very off and I didn’t eat most of it.
Hosted a business dinner and couldn't have had a better experience. Great food and service. Love the decor, too. Beats the usual business choice of overpriced steak house.
We chose 417 Union pre-TPAC-event based on the recommendation of a friend, so perhaps just caught them on a bad night. Our waitress was very, very sweet but overwhelmed and not well trained -- and committed the cardinal sin of table service by putting someone else's dirty dishes down on our table while she took our order. Then she dropped those same plates, splattering us with salad dressing (but, things happen and she was apologetic and there was a quick clean up so not really complaining about that -- just setting the scene for what wasn't a comfortable experience overall). Our dinner salads were great and served quickly...but before we were even halfway finished with those here came our entrees out of the kitchen, a real pet peeve of mine, I'll admit. I ordered the fried chicken and the chicken breast had two bites of meat on it. The crust was crunchy and well seasoned and I could see why the fried chicken gets good reviews, but the pieces I was served were all crust, no meat. The mashed potatoes were dry and tepid. I thought the meal might be saved by the banana pudding but it was overly sweet and did not taste homemade. My husband got the chicken fried steak and was pretty happy with his meal but also though the pudding was awful. When the bill came we had to agree that the total was far too high for the quality of the food, ambiance and service experience (and we have no problem going out for expensive meals if they are worth it!). I wanted to love this little place, but it just wasn't their night.
Order the biscuits!1 they are amazing. The bloody Mary’s are great too.
Good food & service in a fun historic restaurant! Definitely make reservations. Uber if you aren’t in walking distance and enjoy!
I had high hopes for this restaurant but was disappointed. It’s located pretty conveniently near the downtown attractions, it’s hipster cute inside. We had a 5:30 reservation and were seated immediately, and our server greeted us quickly. I ordered a dinner platter of ham, southern green beans, and cornbread stuffing. It was served lukewarm, the ham was a thin , uniformly oval slice of what appeared and tasted to be highly processed ham. The beans were tasty but had 4 large thick stems in the mix. The stuffing was served as a scoop so was a dense blob. Biggest peeve, there was a cold stale roll served with it; i saw many plates go by with biscuits. I was told they serve what they have at the time; I guess they start the biscuit baking when they open and till they are ready you get a packaged roll. The banana pudding was all cookie barely moistened with pudding, also a dense scoop. I think the breakfast here is supposed to be popular but dinner was a bust especially for the high price.
We loved everything about this place. The avocado toast, the brioche french toast were outstanding. I especially loved the Peanut Butter Whiskey Cream Brulee...outstanding.
Restaurant was not as nice as I expected. Food was average and coffee was cold!
Great over all dinner, home style meals but prepared very well!
