400 Gradi is the brainchild of chef and V.P.N. Principal Johnny Di Francesco, who’s family hail from Naples in Southern coastal Italy – the home of ‘world’s best’ pizza. Johnny has a series of Pizza and Calzone outlets with the 400 Gradi Restaurant being the flagship of the group. The 400 Gradi interiors are all about classic Italian textures, with walls of espresso ribbons of Stucco Veneziana and sweeping golden calligraphy. Black and antique gold pendant lightsand a charcoal Terrazzo style polished floor all reflect a golden hue. A bar honed from a dark veined slab of 160 year old red gum, salumi cabinets and antique slicers are all part of the theatre… Outside there’s plenty more tables for dining where the usual sophistication of the ‘other’ end of Lygon Street is apparent.     Upset that despite early booking , we were shown to a dark back table . There were plenty of other available tables . The maitre d did not appear to recognise our booking

    Pizza was excellent, true to Napoli style and flavours. Service was a little patchy and on a cold day the restaurant was quite chilly.

    The tables are too close and its not ideal to hear other people's conversations, regardless of how much you try not to. Other than that, the restaurant itself is very nice. The service was mostly good expect one of the male waiters who did not manage to smile for once and had bit of a cold approach, almost seemed uninterested and was not very friendly, however I did not catch his name. It was also 15 minutes before someone attended to our table to offer drinks and bring out the food menu's. The food was outstanding and very delicious like always.

    Wonderful night out! The pizza was the main attraction, wood fired to perfection. The meals came out very quickly which was nice (only about 5-10 minute wait) and were full of flavour and delicious. 1 pizza each was sufficient to fill me and my partner, mind you we have big appetites, but it would be a great way to share a meal too. Waitstaff were extremely helpful in explaining the menu and pizza choices. Tables were a little close together making it very 'cosy' with our neighbours.

    The staff were not very attentive or very friendly. Our table wasn't ready upon arrival, and while we were waiting they sat another couple who came in after us at the next available table. The pizza was pretty bland and the pasta wasn't anything amazing for the price that they charge. Overall, very disappointing
