400 Gradi is the brainchild of chef and V.P.N. Principal Johnny Di Francesco, who’s family hail from Naples in Southern coastal Italy – the home of ‘world’s best’ pizza. Johnny has a series of Pizza and Calzone outlets with the 400 Gradi Restaurant being the flagship of the group. The 400 Gradi interiors are all about classic Italian textures, with walls of espresso ribbons of Stucco Veneziana and sweeping golden calligraphy. Black and antique gold pendant lightsand a charcoal Terrazzo style polished floor all reflect a golden hue. A bar honed from a dark veined slab of 160 year old red gum, salumi cabinets and antique slicers are all part of the theatre… Outside there’s plenty more tables for dining where the usual sophistication of the ‘other’ end of Lygon Street is apparent. We have been to this restaurant previously but on this occasion we were very disappointed. Seated right next to the kitchen despite numerous quieter tables available. Entree and wine were not what we had ordered. The special pizza had a very soggy base and two off prawns, the lamb ragu tasted like it had come out of a can. We hope that the restaurant can lift their game and return to their earlier high standards

Great Napolatona pizza in Melbourne. Very nice atmosphere and great cocktails and a nice wine list to boot !

Accommodating towards special requests. My friend has bad acid reflux so we asked for pizza without cheese. Pizza arrived n was still so tasty! Love their pizzas, calamari and pasta! Pasta was freshly made and the duck Ragu was tender. Service wasn't prompt and other tables were served first but floor manager was quick to rectify and serve us promptly. Towards the end of the meal, one of the usual staff (Cindy) who waited on us served us instead. She's warm and friendly, also very prompt with her service!

We had pizza and wine. The pizza was great as always and the wine was perfect. The staff serving us was nice. We come here regularly and will continue to come. Easily one of the best pizza places in Melbourne. You can't go past the Frutti di Mare pizza!

I love 400 Gradi. Have been bringing family and friends here for the last few years and it never disappoints. The food is sensational and the service is first rate. Keep it up Johnny and staff!

Excellent and attentive service. Cheese and meat board highly recommended. Margherita pizza was delicious although slightly sloppier than expected, anchovy pizza ruined by over salty anchovies. Would go again.
