This was our first time eating there and we will most definitely be back again. The wait staff were friendly and prompt with food and drinks. The food was superb!
Wait staff and hostess were absolutely wonderful. Food was excellent, but the surf and turf was expensive for steak and shrimp for $48 per plate. Drinks were well priced, as was my wife's pasta.
Overall a great experience. Excellent drink selection. The cheese curds are a must try! Unfortunately both of our steaks were overcooked (rare and medium rare arrived medium well and well done). The sides were a bit over seasoned for our personal preference. We would still visit again but would probably opt to try the burgers. Excellent service and ambiance!

A little loud donto having a live band that night but it was good music and the food was excellent and the service was top-notch.
Family dinner out for the first time in a long time. A great way to celebrate our daughter’s graduation. Service was fast, attentive & friendly, food was delicious across the board. Great drinks & good selection of craft beers from the bar. I forgot how quickly a teenager can devour a steak! We had a great time! We will definitely be back!
Nice place and needed restaurant in area. Improvement in wine list with added Old world wines. Menu offers quality not quantity
My husbands top sirloin was cooked perfectly! Our 16 yr old asked for the chicken fettuccine for breakfast the next morning! Our 17 yr old had the wings and they were deliciously moist, with the crispiest skin. I had the chicken sandwich which was crispy, moist and contained just the right amount of heat from the aioli mayo, making it a favorite! We had a wonderful dining experience and will definitely visit again if our travels allow!
We did request a high top table but were seated at a regular table which ended up being just fine. The tables were set nicely apart so we felt like we were having a private conversation and dining experience. Our server was amazing and took excellent care of our needs and the food was incredible. Truly a favorite place of ours.
Our meal was top notch. I planned to order the salmon off the menu; however they were sold out, but offered the salmon prepared with a cream sauce, rice and asparagus. I requested it be cooked medium with a crisp exterior and it was prepared spot on! Can’t wait to go back!
For the area the restaurant serves it offers a great choice instead of driving to a metropolitan area. Menu is small but good choices and wine list is small but good choices.
It was my first time here and believe me it’s not going to be the last. Food was awesome drinks were good too. I’ve already recommended this restaurant to many of my friends.
I was disappointed in my steak it came out Luke warm. I had to send it back it was a little warmer than before but it still was not hot by the time I got my steak back my husband was almost done eating . I had already cut up some of the steak and I had three pieces on the plate plus the rest of the steak that was there when I got my steak back after them reheating it the three pieces I had cut up we’re gone which may not seem like a lot but when you’re paying $38 for a steak I kind of want everything that you pay for
Valentines day with wife
Only complaint were I had a reservation at 7 and didn't get seated till 7:30 because there were still people at our table. The food and service was amazing!!
Great service and everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. Food was excellent. Server went out of her why to help surprise me on Valentine’s Day.
We have been to 40North Tap and Grill four or five times and had a wonderful experience each and every time. The staff know the menu and have been very helpful in making selections both from the bar as well as dining selections. I was very surprised when the manager came to our table to talk to us about the select bottles of Bourbon and Rye Whiskeys that they use for select mixed drinks. This was very informative and just a lot of fun. He told some great jokes. The food that comes from the kitchen is excellent. The Chef does a great job with the well thought out offerings. I really like the smaller menu because there is something for everyone but the quality of the food and the preparation is really done right. Take the Chef’s recommendations when ordering meat dishes you will be very surprised at the level of flavor that comes from these well designed offerings. We are very lucky to have this new restaurant in Grand Island. Support it and make it the place to go when you are looking for that special meal or to celebrate that special occasion.

Quietly celebrating a birthday on a Tuesday night. Not crowded. Loved the water wall. Attentive service. Funny mid-western story: My husband order scotch on the rocks. The bartender appeared, personally, asking if he wanted it with a sphere. Hubbie, who is hard-of-hearing, asked what kind of spear? Asparagus? Pineapple? The bartender gave him a blank look, so my guy, wanting to be helpful, said, scotch, on ice, splash of water. When our waitress arrived, who seemed younger, but pretty down-to-earth, we queried her about the bartender's question. She said she'd check, disappeared, then stated, "its an ice ball." So, yeah, now we get it. Just semantics, but maybe using the vernacular and asking if you want a very slow melting ice ball in your drink, which would chill but not dilute, rather than cubes (actually, my husband would prefer ice chips-chilled and a lot of dilution), would be more Nebraska Nice. Just sayin'. We did not take offense, as the bartender, I'm sure, was not intentionally trying to make us feel unsophisticated. We wish this restaurant to stick around for many, many years.
The food is absolutely the best you are going to find anywhere in Nebraska. The chef deserves accolades for his skills and presentation of his dishes. We have eaten all across the United States and many different countries. I would say that the food here ranks right up with the best of them. Grand Island is truly fortunate to have a chef of this calibre. The wait staff is equally top notch.
Excellent food, especially for Grand Island. My scallops were cooked perfectly. The only reason I gave less than 5 stars: we had reserved a regular table, but they tried putting us at a high-top. Nice try, but we restated our original request, recorded on "Open Table" website, and they obliged. This place has great food, a great concept, but staff could really distinguish themselves with excellent service, since this is hard to find in GI.
Fillet that my husband had was excellent. My shrimp scampi/pasta was good. I had ordered a salad with my dinner when my dinner arrived and no salad I cancelled the salad. The complimentary bread should not be offered if it is 2 thin slices. It just looks cheap most places supply plenty of bread and butter.
As you know we had made reservations there were open 4 tops on the other side of the restaurant but we were seated 2 at a 6 top. The tables could have been separated at that point but they were not that kind of kills the intimacy/ambience of the meal.
I had a coffee drink in the back with coffee and irish cream. Wasn't even Bailey's Irish Cream and drink was $7.00 for the Irish cream and $3.00 for the coffee $10.00 total cost. Thinking most places would have not charged me as well for the coffee just the $7.00???
So pleasant to have another nice restaurant choice in Grand Island. Great food and our servicer (Kate) was fabulous. We will be back.
The food is overpriced, especially for the portion sizes provided. The portion sizes are very small. The ribeye was $45, but the server couldn’t tell me the steak size when I asked. Nice ambiance but not worth the money. They even charge for Coke refills after bringing you a glass full of ice. They didn’t tell us refills were extra. Compared to other high end restaurants, it’s definitely not worth the price. Odyssey, Prairie Creek Winery, and other similar restaurants costs less, have larger portions, nice ambiance, and great tasting food.
This was our 2nd dining experience here. We had reservations for a group of 10 on new years eve. I tried to add 2 to our reservation, ahead of time, but was told we could not. So there ended up being 8 of us because 2 had to stay behind and eat with the other 2 in which they couldn't get a reservation until 845 pm. We were booked for 645 pm. Right away we noticed many many open tables, and they stayed open. We told the other party of 4 to come early to see if they could be seated, they came and were told they could not. When we questioned all of the open seating, one table remained open for nearly 2 hours, there were at least 3 other tables open at all times, the waitress got argumentative and said would you like to see my seating chart. She acted like she may have been mgmt but very poor customer skills. Another waitress actually over heard and seated our friends. During our entire duration there, there were always multiple tables open. Food was excellent. I feel you lost alot of business by not booking properly and poorly managed, I did not get her name, she had reddish hair. She seemed over worked and covering too much area. We were also supposed to be seated in sports bar area as we planned to stay for comedian, but we weren't seated there, and it was too full when finished eating so we left. Hopefully you figure out the staffing and booking issues because it's a beautiful place and great food but the way we were treated left a foul taste with our party of 12. Thank you. Amy Fischer
Out with friends celebrating New Years Eve
Food was very good and ambience was great. Food and bar drinks were a little pricey.
What happened to the quality of food here? On our previous visits the food was good but not this time. Compared to the other times I had the shrimp scampi this time the shrimp was tiny and tough and the pasta wasn’t fresh. The hickory smoked brisket had a large amount of fat on it and lacked flavor. We won’t be going back there anytime soon.
Enjoyed our time there very much. It’s nice to know there is another nice restaurant in the Tri-Cities region. I personally felt my steak was too salty, but the rest of the table thought theirs was seasoned perfectly. We all loved the brussel sprouts! It was slightly noisy in there, but there were a few large holiday party groups eating at the same time. It was nothing that could be avoided. Overall, very nice place to eat.
It is a nice place. Good food lacks a little on being comfortable.
A group of us went to celebrate a birthday. I tried the Salmon and it was SOOO DELICIOUS! Will be back soon!
Service was exceptional. Food came out very quickly and the staff was attentive. We just had sandwiches but they were both good. We will be back!

The restaurant is a beautifully renovated store with exposed brick and beams and rich dark tones. The hostess was delightful and we were seated right away. The menu is only two pages, but held a wonderful selection of items. The bruschetta was some of the best I’ve had, a must try. Both my colleague and I had the bone in ages ribeye prepared medium rare. The steaks were done perfectly and the Brussels sprouts were incredible. A really nice touch was that the steak was sliced but left connected to the bone. It presented as a whole uncut steak but the slicing made it very easy to consume, BRILLIANT! I will make 40 North my main place to eat when in Grand Island and I will recommend it to all. I gave 4 stars on service only because our server seemed new, but it did not detract from the overall experience. I gave value 4 stars because at $45 for a Grand Island restaurant, it seemed a little aggressive, but I would do it again.
