Special date night and excited for seafood. Oysters were great! Baby octopus was delicious and halibut was very good, slightly over cooked. Their tuna poky was way too coded in spicy mayo with small tiny amount of tuna. I’ve had better tuna poky from the Jerry’s deli. Over all the food was good but not fantastic and I felt like always overshadowed by too much space and sauce so you could hardly appreciate the seafood. Fun night but pretty expensive for just average seafood.
Would give the food a C, pretty disappointing. I had the scallops which were quite good but the snapper was over dressed, the octopus starter was a little too charred and the wine was mediocre at best. It was also freezing and the lights were too bright where we were seated. Not impressed but wanted to like it.
Food was great, service was very good, and hospitality was poor. Had reservation for 4 weeks. One week prior to dinner, restaurant called to ask if we would sit at the bar or arrive 2 hours later. Responded (politely) that we would find a neighboring restaurant, and that I understand last minute corporate bookings. 4 Bells response was, no problem, we "have a space for you." Unfortunately, I did not book a plan B - we were placed next to the front door, on Dec 15, with no door control. Further insult: there were other booths open away from the door. Moral: don't book with 4 Bells early.
We chose this place for an early dinner (3 kids with school the next day) In fairness, We didn't say we were on a time frame. A total of 6 on a Tuesday night - the place was very quiet. We didn't get out of there until after 9pm. We figured about 8-8:30 at the latest. The dinner took an exceedingly long time to get. There was a long gap in the time from the end of meal to get dessert. On the plus side - the specialty cocktails, oysters and the steak were the highlights. It was no "one" big thing that wasn't good. The experience fell flat overall.
Always a great place for brunch! Never have disliked anything I've ordered. I would highly recommend the Chicken and Waffles
Sorry for stating the obvious but they have AMAZING sea food :) and we were a group of sea food snobs. Fresh ingredients in unexpected and delicious combinations.
My wife and I went out for a date night and had a fabulous night! From the moment we were seated until we literally walked out the door we had fantastic service! We had great appetizers, main courses, drinks and a desert. Our waiter was spot on and could ask him and questions and listened to his recommendations and he did not steer us wrong. Great atmosphere inside, very lively. Will definitely be back with Friends!!!
Choose this place to take my family for brunch. The brunch menu is simple and to the point. The hash was delicious, the apple butter was fantastic for the toast. Enjoyed my coffee and prompt service. However today’s music choice was a bit suspect. I don’t mind listening to Disney channel when I’m in Orlando on a magical vacation. Quality brunch overall.
Found this restaurant on Open Table. My wife and i really liked it. Great presentation and incredible flavors. We ordered the scallops and roasted mushrooms and would highly recommend both. We also ordered the beat salad and liked it too.
Great dinner, drinks. Next time I’d like to sit at the chefs bar.
The pistachio cake is a must. Best part of brunch (aside from bottomless mimosas, of course).
A little overpriced for what you get. 4 TINY (and I mean tiny) oysters for $18. Server got 1 out of 4 dinners wrong. Correct order was brought out fairly quickly. Parking in the lot next to the restaurant is cash only.
This place is very over rated. The service was terrible. We were sitting for a good 20 minutes before ordering drinks. Appetizers took over an hour. A ll told we were there for three hours and didn't even get dessert, just apps and entrees. Some tables were getting bread service and some (like us) were not. We asked what the soup was and the waiter told us it's the same thing every day and he didn't recommend it.
The food was underwhelming. I had a very mediocre Caesar salad which was just a head of romaine with bland dressing that almost tasted like sour cream. My salmon came with just an unseasoned block of tempeh which no one in their right mind would enjoy. Sampled some of the other entrees and really nothing to right home about. Couple with the cost of each entree it was very disappointing.
Seriously, don't waste your time and money eating here.
Food is great, some things are a bit over priced however the cuisine is unique and very tasty, music is pretty loud
Small portions that are overpriced. Chicken was more like leather than chicken. HH price on a half dozen oysters was a whopping $18. They were the tiniest oysters I have ever eaten. RIP off!
Weygu Ribeye was covered in a thick sauce that does the meat injustice. You don’t cover $65 steak in a sauce.
I wanted to love the whole experience as it is gorgeous, perfectly located and has great service. My fried chicken was dry and flavorless and my biscuit was cold. The Brussels sprouts were delicious. I would go there for cocktails in the future.
Top notch seafood place. Special occasion to share with family. Will be back again.
The staff here are so nice and personable. They gave my friend & I time to talk but took great care of us as well. My favorites of the meal? Brussels sprouts, restaurant week fried chicken and the yummiest White Chocolate Panna Cotta ever!
Though the restaurant week menu is boring the regular menu really amazed me. From the cold share dish to the dessert evey course make me surprised. It's definitely better them Oceanary. From my perspective it's definetly the best seafood restaurant in this level in Minneapolis.
I would not recommend for restaurant week. All the food was fried. The main course was chicken only without any sides or accompanying dish. If you wanted a true main course you would need to order more than the restaurant week menu.
The glaze on the ribeye was overpowering. Everything else we had was delicious
The service was great; however, I give this restaurant a 1/10 simply for the fact that the food was absolutely terrible. I would never return. I fine dine often and I can honestly say that I’ve never had a worst meal. I would have rather had a cold cheeseburger that sat out overnight from McDonald’s.
Went here for my birthday and it was perfect. Went with two girlfriends and I tried oysters for the first time! I loved that you could try oysters from four different region. All were phenomenal--cold and fresh. The only thing I wish is that they would have had a crab legs entree because those were also amazing.
4Bells is worth a stop. The service was very high touch, and the food was amazing. The white chocolate panna cotta was the perfect finish.
First night out after a new baby and had an amazing meal. I’m dealing with some new dietary restrictions and haven’t been able to enjoy a meal like that in a long time. Great seafood, interesting and different, not something you will find on every menu which I like. Beat salad and red snapper ceviche were delicious and my husbands crab legs were the best!
Service was not great. Changed servers back and forth several times and very rarely checked on table. Had to find server to get water refill. Food took over an hour to get and they were not very busy. Food was good. Overall mediocre
Great menu with interesting and thoughtfully developed flavors, while still feeling casual and comfortable. The oyster flight is a must with changing selections daily--really reasonable and not to much for the casual diner who just wants to experience the oyster selection. The volume is louder than I expected, but is still reasonable for conversation.
food was very average. My pork chop was warm not hot. Appetizers were small in portion. Server was so so and appeared to no care wether we were there or not. Not worth 4 Benjamins
We had a great brunch - the service was excellent and especially the bottomless Mimosas!
Always a pleasure to eat at 4 Bells. We dined there before heading to Orchestra Hall, and ad the scallops, salmon and halibut, each perfectly executed, along with a side of cauliflower au gratin. Lovely wines paired at our servers suggestion. Real treat. Bar makes a mean cocktail too!
The Halibut was fantastic and you’ve got to appreciate when the drink menu has a Vesper martini on it. I’ve never had better brussel sprouts in my life.
We were in Minneapolis for a business trip and tried 4bells. It's awesome! Loved the teres major!

Food was good, but menu is somewhat limited. We were disappointed that the fried chicken was not on menu nor was the stout beer milkshake
We were looking for a good seafood place and stumbled upon 4 Bells. We were not disappointed. Our server was amazing and explained the whole menu to us. The oysters were amazing. We will be visiting again soon.
Good place to go to have some good comfort seafood food with friends and/or family! Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and recommended some good plates - scallops and swordfish. Mishap while dining there - as I was sitting in the booth, I put my hand down on the cushion. A piece of glass chard stabbed me in the finger. I started bleeding immediately and a lot. A waiter gave me a napkin to apple pressure. Two staff brought me bandaids, gauze, and first aid cream. Neither of the wait staff offered to help me with the bleeding or help administer the bandages. I had three apologies but nothing else offered. They didn’t feel the need to check the cushion of the booth for more glass. While dining that evening, two different times glass broke behind the bar. I feel the waitstaff need to be more careful with glassware and clean up better since a piece was on the cushion of my seat.
Food was great, Colin our server was excellent. We had the octopus appetizer and the oyster casino and we loved both of them. We shared the teres major and cauliflower as graten. Both were excellent as well. Great experience once again.
Too noisy, food overpriced and strawberry shortbread was awful. Waitress was excellent however. Lobster was over cooked and tough.
Not only does this restaurant have excellent tasting food I was also amazed at the generous portions!
