The waiting team were super nice and under . We were a group of 6 and three of us order steak all medium or medium rare cook but when the steak presented to them was well done/ burnet and chewy. So mich so that our waiteress returned all of them and brought new ones for them. All which was a bit better but still just an ok steak. Pasta and Risotto were good. All in all. 3/10.

We all LOVED this restaurant! The service was excellent- our waitstaff were delightful and engaged with us so well. They gave great wine and food suggestions. The wine and the food were simply delicious! We had a mixed group - vegetarians and meat eaters. We all enjoyed our dinner - basically overate. I was so tempted to lick my plate and the serving dishes. I recommend this place highly. We were celebrating our daughters’ birthday. Awesome place!!!

We sat outside and it was a great experience - it was quieter than in the restaurant so we were able to talk and the food was just as amazing as when we sit inside.

Service was a little bit strange- host’s tone was a bit sassy, the spaces were kind of tight and one of the waiter’s booty kept hovering over our drinks. There was a very long wait inbetween some of our dishes (we had the 7 course tasting menu). Servers were all different and got some of our dishes mixed up. Overall food was good and made well but not a unique experience. This is a cute neighborhood gem but not phenomenal especially for the price.

I had very high expectations, but thought that instead the restaurant was okay. We ordered the gem salad, uni verme brûlée and the halibut. Gem salad was great, uni creme brûlée was a little underwhelming likely due to high expectation :) the halibut was a little plain, but overall meal was healthy, but not as flavorful as anticipated.

This was our first time dining at 3rd Cousin. We decided to try the 10-course tasting menu as the variety looked great and opted for one wine pairing. We have nothing to complain about. The dishes were nicely presented. The staff was pleasant and knew enough about the menu to explain what was being served. There was one very loud table and I felt it detracted from the overall quiet ambiance. We loved the porcini pasta, lobster risotto, and the duck. My wife was very fond of the uni cream brulee. As we reflected on the overall experience we thought it would be worth going back for items ala carte. On a scale of 1 to 10 we thought the food was an 8. Our feeling was the dishes, although very good, were dishes we could prepare at home. Nothing that made us wonder about how the chef did this or did that. Nothing that was a surprise to our pallette or pushed the limits of a taste to the 'wow' factor. I'm sure we will be back for those items we very much enjoyed.

We've eaten here before and the quality of food is as good as I recall. That said, after the Valentine's pre-fixe meal we were both still hungry. In spite of the 3 course and dessert, we could have continued eating. The portions were a bit minimal. The "background" music was also a bit loud for what we wanted in a "romantic" evening, but overall this is a top notch operation well worth a visit.

No question, this is a neighborhood gem and a lovely intimate restaurant. We had a lovely 4-person birthday celebration, and we enjoyed everything about our experience. Very good and friendly service overall. Unique and tasty menu (in love with the Oyster Tempura, the Crudo and the Brussel Sprouts). 3rd Cousin has a wonderful formula that invites return visits for sure. A bit on the pricey side, but to be expected and reflects the quality of the experience, which is very high!

Food was simple but very well done. Plates were pretty but portions a little small. We did sf restaurant week and it was a great first kick off of the event. Additions to the 4 course meal were a little pricey but worth it. We had the lobster risotto for $25 more and Black truffles, also $25. We picked a wine off there suggested wine pairings. It was a great Sancere....until we received the bill and saw that it was 75 for 4 glasses of wine. Mind you I will pay for good wine....but our waiter never told us how much it was or suggested the bottle. Sneaky waiter...service not on par with the quality of the food. All in all a great experience, would definitely come again. Waitstaff needs to loosen up, it's a small restaurant relax, it shows in the service.

Came here for restaurant week, one of the few places that offered 4 courses for $65. The plating was nicely done but I don't think I would come back, food was good but not worth the price point. The prices for drinks, alcoholic and non alcoholic were expensive. My partner did the wine pairing and they were very light on the pours, like the amount you get with a wine tasting. We sat at the counter which I do not recommend, I sat on the corner when the food comes out and almost every server bumped into my chair multiples times.

Environment and service really good. However, it is too price for what they offer. The food is good, but the price is not worth. Another negative point is the wine prices. The cheapest bottle $60 and HORRIBLE wine! A good wine is like $88. Honestly I would not recommend to a friend. They have to improve a lot to charge what they do.

We had a Thanksgiving dinner here. They had a fixed course menu so we had to choose it. The price was expensive but that is understandable because they are working at Thanksgiving day. The volume was good and fulfilling for myself and for my son who is a big eater. But the food was a bit salty for us overall and the service was okay. I wanted to explore a new restaurant in this neighborhood but I do not think I will come back here again.

So, we went here for our anniversary dinner night. I had a reservation at 8PM, we arrived at 7:50 but was not seated till 8:35pm. There was not really a space to sit down during wait or the bar, so we were squeezed in at the corner entrance, which was not very pleasing experience. As soon as we were seated, it followed with 1st course meal and after. The timing of the foods are great, as you don't wait 10~20 mins per dishes, and their just keep coming as soon as you finish one another. We added white/black truffles on our dishes, and it was great experience. Was charged for the bread, but never received bread and butter :( (realized after I've got home). Overall experience was good, this time we didn't open any wines as we had other plans for the next day. Our bill was $340, and including tip it was right on about $400. Was it worth it? well in a sense yes, and no. Not sure if the quality of the food is worth $200pp, but definitely different experiences you get for trying seafoods to meats, and different vegetables was definitely an experiences. The only negative thing about the food was that steaks could've cooked a lot better (meaning may be I just prefer slow cook and seared to medium rather than rare cooked), and duck breast was really chewy. The Uni puree over biscuits were great, and so was the ravioli with truffles. Will probably go back, and next time will be with more wines to enjoy.
