A nice casual, bright ambiance. The large windows facinfgthe Hudson River makes you feel you are outdoors. Although, if it wasn't so cold, the outdoor seating would be wonderful. The casual fare offers a lot of variety. We shared a dragon roll, mussels, and a beet salad. All the dishes were very tasty and flavorful. The wait staff was very attentive and unobtrusive. The Westerly is so convenient to the MNRR as our guest had a nice leisurely meal with us before departing back tot he city.
Beautiful location and good food though overpriced and brunch selections were surprisingly limited.
I wish server would of told us what time kitchen closed so we could of ordered dessert
Food and service was great. But way to dark to eat. When you and other patrons need the light on your phone to see what your eating or to see menu that’s not good. Just raise the dimmer switch up.
Nice place. A bit pricey.
Excellent food and all round good experience. But shouldn’t have to ‘ask for bread’. Wine $13-15 a glass vs CHAR restaurant $9.
I’ve been here a few times, and always have an enjoyable experience. The food was as good as ever, and even with the tequila shortage, the waiter made sure our drink needs were met. Wait staff was attentive without being over bearing, even with the place being so busy. The hosts helped us keep the birthday a surprise for my uncle as well. Everyone had a great time and left full of food and happiness.
Went for HVRW their menu only had 3 different apps and 3 different entrees and 2 desserts to choose from. As soon as we sat we were told that they didn’t have the Lobster PAPPARDELLE or Nutella dessert Very very disappointing. Nothing special for the price
Service and management left a lot to be desired. A party of 8 was booked a month in advance for a birthday brunch. We were sat outside in mid November. A terrible storm came through with high winds and strong rain. We were all soaked and cold and told there was no room inside due to two private parties. We spent $600 on our bill to be cold and wet.
Birthday dinner, service was slow. Food was okay.
So the ambiance of the restaurant is nice, the view is great. The food was ok. East Coast oysters to start were good, and the watermelon salad I had was ok. $17 for 4 shrimp seems excessive to me, altogether it meant I had a $27 watermelon salad. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles and it was awful. The Tyson tenders I buy from Costco to make my kids have more breading and flavor than what he got. It was bland and even the syrup didn’t help. I had creme brûlée for desert and again it was mediocre in taste and later gave me a stomach ache. I don’t think I’d eat here again.
Branzino was perfectly made. Fresh as can be and skin wonderfully crisped. Cauliflower cooked just right and desserts on point.
Pros: Appreciated we had no wait for our reservation. Waitress came right away, she was very attentive & happy. Made suggestion for beer flight. Water was refilled all service. Booth was comfortable
Cons: loud and dark!! Had to turn on phone to read menu. Not impressed with selections for restaurant week. Calamari was tough, cauliflower needed a kick, pizza crust was awful, even the chocolate cake/brownie was dry and tasteless. Food was huge disappointment. Will not return
I thought restaurant week was designed to attract and impress your customers with your food and service. Seems not at the Westerly. At the Westerly, you may as well order off the regular menu, which is only slightly less limited that the restaurant week menu. Although it seems that ordering from the restaurant menu would be a better value. Not so. The kale Caesar salad arrived as a very small portion, but when the branzino came out as half a fish swimming on an oversized plate with a small bit of pearl barley underneath, we knew something was fishy. When I asked the waitress about the branzino (which is priced at $39! on the menu) and seemed to be cut in half and the Caesar salad that also seemed to be about half what you would normally get for a $17 salad, she said that they modify the portion sizes for restaurant week. Ha! So I asked her about the truffle pizza, which we had also ordered from the restaurant week menu, and I had to laugh when she said that some menu items could not be modified.
So where is the value here??? You mock the customer and think he is going to come back??? I think that people should write poor reviews for your restaurant week participation. Because there is no value here, and because I feel insulted, will most likely not return.
Great restaurant! Good food great ambiance & great service!
Beautiful view of the Hudson River. A bit noisy due to high ceilings and glass so it is a trade-off.
Really lovely service despite the full amount of diners.
For lunch, Bronzino was delicious as were my companion’s hamburger. Caesar salad had odd spice combination which would be the one suggestion to fix. And smashingly delicious sweet desserts
This was probably my favorite Restaurant Week lunch ever! The food was excellent and the portions were generous. Service was attentive without being intrusive or cloying. We sat outside (under heaters) with a beautiful view of the Hudson. I honestly can't think of anything that could have made it a better experience.
It was amazing experience with a view. I went for restaurant week to catch up with a friend over a nice lunch and it was a wonderful experience with delicious food.
Very few selections for HVRW, and not very accomodating.
We had a lovely dinner. The food was very good and the service excellent.
Food was fine, but not at all worth the prices. The two mains we ordered didn't come with real sides, so you're paying $30+ for a meat, that could have more seasoning or flavor in my opinion. The margarita was fantastic, very well made. Overall you're paying for the ambiance of the beautiful location and view of the Hudson.
We had a restaurant week lunch. The cauliflower appetizer was very good, guacamole was just OK, branzino was good but small, shrimp tempura roll was too spicy, apple tarte not good, flourless chocolate cake OK. Overall portions were small.
Beautiful views. Nice menu,over priced
Service poor for a chilly Monday after sunset
Overpriced for subpar food. Sushi (dragon roll) tasted like it came out of a freezer. Cold hard rice with soy sauce in a plastic cup and chopsticks from a take out restaurant.
Amazing location and good food. A special spot - great for a lunch date.
Always amazing! Awesome food, service and so kid friendly! I have a 3.5 and 1.5 year old kids that drop half of the food in the floor and they are always so understanding! Plus they give them paper and crayons to color.
Fantastic food, service and views! We had a wonderful time!
Ambiance was great as well as the service. The food was good as well.
Limited menu a little pricey
View of the River nice
The food was excellent. The only criticism is that all of the food came out at the exact same time.
Lovely outdoor lunch on an unseasonably warm Fall day. Great food & service.
Based on past visits I was so excited to host my family here, but I spent the rest of the night apologizing for suggesting it. Our server was unfriendly, the prices do not meet product received, and I’m floored to have been charged for a soda refill. Honestly just very disappointing.
Food and service were mediocre. Went for brunch and found out they got rid of bottomless. Go here for the outdoor seating and views. Food and drinks are overpriced and not worth it.
Below average food. It's a spot for a view. That's it.
Decent scene but overpriced
Good food. Great view of Hudson. Nice patio. Service was just so so.
We go to 3 Westerly for the ambiance. Beautiful job with the outdoor landscaping, and the room inside - we like the booths - very nice. The food? Eh. Totally overpriced. We order carefully, generally split a pizza, salad, sushi roll.
First visit and will absolutely return. Great water view very nice staff and great casual menu
Great nite with friends! Service was great. Our waitress Kerry was friendly and attentive and sweet as could be! We will be back!
We were able to eat at an outside table, which was good. We split the kale Caesar salad and the pepperoni pizza. Everything was delicious and plenty of food for lunch. Everyone was courteous and helpful. We’ll definitely be back.
