The food was delicious. I’m eating gluten free these days and prepared pasta was excellent. Good wine and positive atmosphere. Thumbs up.
Very good food for the price. The waitress was great! I highly recommend this restaurant for good Italian food.
Good food but somewhat noisy.
Wonderful appetizers, exquisite meal. Service was attentive but not hovering. Highly recommend!
This was our first time at 3DD and we loved the experience. Our waitress, Melissa, was friendly, energetic and had a fun personality. We had the bean dip (which is amazing) and scallops (also fantastic) as a starter and split the special from that day. Everything tasted great. We are not big on alcohol so we didn’t try the wine/beer/cocktail menu, but they seemed to have a large wine list to choose from as well. Will definitely return.
We had dinner in celebration of a family members birthday so we were all excited to try something new. Food was good but for an Italian restaurant you would think there would be more options. My only real complaint was that service felt very rushed and she was not that pleasant. Makes we're made only because the server did not listen.
Not sure if I will add this to my list to revisit.
From the warm, personal greeting at the door, to the delightful spot in the front window, to the superb service, to the gorgeous presentation, to the delicious colors, textures, aromas, and flavors, 3 Doors Down is a champion. It is a very special place to dine!
This is our favorite restaurant. The food is so, so good and the servers are really wonderful.
Very nice friendly service. The food was great. Had a great recommendation for a wine. Exactly fit my taste requirements. My daughter and I went and we love really good authentic, healthy, tasty foods. We loved the white bean dip that came with the bread. Loved are app and our homemade pasta dishes.
Always good. A favorite of our family for years.
This was a cute neighborhood restaurant serving Italian food. I really wanted to like the food, but everything was extremely salty. And to level set.. I am one of those people that chefs hate because I ask for more salt. The service was good and friendly. I am hoping that they were just having and "off" day with the food.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at 3 Doors Down. The food was delicious, and portions were generous. A very good value. The vodka cream sauced pasta with sausage was beyond delicious. Thei Blood Orange Amaretto Sour was super tasty too. The service was prompt, friendly and made for a very fun evening. Thank You!
3Doors Down always deliver the best service, food and drinks. The staff is always polite, and knowledgeable about the menu. Kathy, and Dave are the best!
Enjoyed the meal. the dining month was a big hit. I might not have otherwise come to the restaurant.
We had a lovely visit for our anniversary! They were busy because it was St. Patrick's day but the food and service were wonderful!
Great service and food
Love the ambiance and the quiet place to get away from busy Hawthorne. The food is consistent but wish there were a few more pasta options. It has been one of our favorite restaurants for special occasions. . . plus they have unoaked Chardonnay!
Live in Seattle area and whenever we go to Portland always go to Three Doors Down. Been going to this Restaurant for over sixteen years. Food is always outstanding! Service has always been excellent. This particular night Tuesday 13 March we had a waitress that should of had the night off. Unfortunately it ruined our dinning experience. Hope the next time will be a more typical experience: super food, service and a fun time.
The food was very good, and the service was awesome! A bit noisy, but, I tune pianos, so I use my ears to make my living, making me a bit more sensitive to than some! Definitely an enjoyable evening!
We went for Portland Dining Month. We chose this restaurant because it offered 3 courses that did not include a dessert, and we liked having 3 different options for main course. For 1st I had and liked the eggplant but my companions had the sausage and their plate was better. The mussels were very good, and also the chicken, but the mac and cheese was my favorite.
Just for fun we also ordered two desserts to share (bread pudding and tiramisu), and both were huge and delicious.
We were also happy with the friendly service. The place is a bit crammed and a bit noisy, I guess it couldn't be all good.
We dine here occasionally and have always enjoyed the excellent Italian food and presentation, service and ambience. It is our favorite neighborhood restaurant and we always recommend it to friends and travelers.
Very nice atmosphere. The staff was attentive and the timing of the courses was perfect. The food was very good. Recipes were unlike anything we've had before, but both very delicious and as described. Definitely would recommend for a nice dinner out, or an intimate special occasion.
Everything about our dining experience was fabulous! We were greeted warmly and efficiently. Our service was attentive and friendly. The food was spectacular! Every bite in each course was outstanding!! Very unique ingredients, beautiful presentation and a wide range of textures and flavors. It has been a couple years since we have dined here. I forgot what we have been missing! 3 Doors Sown three is well worth revisiting and making this your favorite! Wow!!
Stephanie was great and Matt made a great
Wine suggestion.
The best Tiramisu ever!
Always a favorite for a a special date night. Service and food are always superb.
This small cafe and bar is a great neighborhood spot. Very hard to find parking but it was worth the frustration. The dim lighting made it a romantic evening. We went for Valentine's Day date a day later.
It was packed! No wonder reservations are needed.
Loved 3 Doors Down! Our wait person, Steph was personable and knowledgeable. I had flank steak with potatoes and veggies. Yummy! My husband had the special which was pasta, smoked tomatoes, asparagus and some other veggies. We shared the bibb lettuce salad which was tasty and enough to split. We shared a chocolate torte with bourban sauce. OMG! Rich and decadent! Prices were good, ambiance nice. You won't be disappointed. Online, it says that you can only make reservations if you have 6 or more, but open table let's you make reservations for 2.
We are very happy with our experience at 3 Doors Down Cafe and Lounge
It's been quite awhile since our last visit.
We have friends who live in the Mt. Tabor Neighborhood and come here regularly -
After they mentioned this being one of their favorite places, we revisited, and concur.
3 Doors is very cozy, elegantly understated, and has a delicious menu and nice selection of wines.
Eating here on a mid-week evening was a most pleasant experience. It was quiet enough for conversation, the food was outstanding, the half-carafe of pinot was luscious, and our waitress was friendly and very attentive. I look forward to my next meal here!
Outstanding service for our party of 6. Only small thing is my wife felt a little like they were "upselling" a tiny bit (i.e. suggesting more items to purchase) but it was comfortable for me. Great food, good portions, great atmosphere. Food was delicious.
I have never had a bad meal here and have come for years. Their menu is always tasty, apps and salads are great, pasta terrific, the fish fantastic... and I believe I receive a fair value for the price. I will be back!
Nice ambi, great service, nicely priced, I just thought the food was blan, left no impression on me to want to go back, but the others in my party liked everything.
The food and service were excellent; enjoyed the evening!
My husband and I wanted to try someplace new to us, and were very pleased with our dining experience. We like to dine early, so were able to enjoy the restaurant before it became crowded. Our server was very knowledgeable about wine, and we loved the bottle she recommended. The food was rich and satisfying, especially my scallops! I want to return soon!
Have been going to 3 Doors Down for 20 odd years. It's still quite good: food and service are terrific. Many menu and wine (and cocktail) choices and everything fresh and tasty (as always).
We hadn't eaten at 3 Doors Down for quite some time. It was very nice to come back. We enjoyed our meals and the service was great. We'll come back again and not wait so long the next time.
The service is personal and attentive. Menu options are great. We went with the house-made angel hair pasta with steamer clams. Absolutely delicious. The bread and bean dip is a great accompaniment. We'll definitely be back soon.
We have been here several times and have never been disappointed. This time was no exception. The service was great and the food thoughtfully prepared. Our guest was visiting from NOLA and is used too and likes spicy food. He ordered the clam linguini with lemon butter sauce. He said it was excellent though VERY spicy with hot pepper flakes. I tried it and my eyes watered and I choked a bit. Lovely, dish, bit maybe a tad too much pepper flakes? Anyhoo, the two other dishes were perfect.
After reviewing the open table reviews by customers of this restaurant went there with great expectations (open table reviews rated the restaurant very highly). First off trying to find parking in the area in the evening is very frustrating. The restaurant is located in a neighborhood where local residents use up almost all the available parking. If you can find parking the restaurant is nice in side - what you would expect of a local neighborhood restaurant. Nice wine list and very attentive service. The food is okay but nothing to rave about. This is by no means a fine dining restaurant. Would suggest making a reservation as can be full on a weekend night.
