3 Doors Down Cafe and Lounge Ratings and Reviews
Visiting from Chicago looking for a restaurant with good vegetarian options along with meat options. Our table was waiting, the service was perfect, and the food was outstanding. The vegetarian risotto was so fresh and vibrant. The sausage and pepper pasta was great, a really nice level of spice. And they made a special vegetarian pasta for one in our party who didn't quite see what she wanted. Everything was just yummy. A wonderful evening in Portland.
Dinner was delicious! I had dinner with friends from work on Thursday night and it was so good I brought my friends in town from LA for dinner on Saturday! They loved it, raved all weekend about how much they love the Portland food scene and that they are definitely coming back for more 3 Doors Down! The gnocchi pesto dish was amazing!!!
Four of us dined here to celebrate a birthday. Our table was ready upon arrival which I always appreciate. The dining room has a casual upscale feel--nice and comfortable without being too formal or stuffy. The service was excellent. Our water and cocktail glasses never got empty. We ordered several appetizers for the table to share which were very good. Three of four of us followed that with perhaps the best Caesar salad I've had anywhere--fresh, tangy with the perfect amount of anchovy taste. For entrees, three
We had a wonderful evening at this neighborhood Italian restaurant. The service was exceptional and the food even better. I had the Plum tomato/vodka pasta dish and the portion size was perfect and I could go back for that dish each week. My partner had the chicken dish and said that the flavors were phenomenal. A definite return visit for us.
It's been years since I dined at 3Doors Down, but my good memories were reinforced by the terrifically prepared, extremely tasty dinners a friend and I were served. The service is also excellent, the servers cheerful, friendly, and unpretentious. The atmosphere is elegant but low-key. It was a dining experience I would heartily recommend to anyone.
We have been coming to 3 Doors Down for a while, and the food and wine list is excellent. I appreciate the menu being small and ever changing. The salads are excellent. Even more importantly the servers are spectacular. They are casual and kind, the bust their buns when they need to, they chit chat when they can; they offer excellent suggestions when indecisive, their is a confidence they have, it is just a wonderful place to go. Mom likes it, daughter likes it, husband likes it, and that is a win!
Had never been here before but what a great spot. Great neighborhood and this restaurant is tucked away in a side street. Matt at the bar steered us in the right direction for cocktails. There wasn't one item on the menu that wasn't delicious. Gnocchi for an appetizer, bib and couscous salad delish and the plum tomato vodka pasta/sausage dish is not to be missed. We had a great time and I would highly recommend!
A really wonderful experience. We felt comfortable and well taken care of by the staff. The food was delicious - we had to remember to slow down and savor every bite. Portion sizes are perfect, drinks were great and even the little personal details were well executed. When we got dessert to go, they labelled the carry out box with when we ordered it and what was inside. After a terrible week of work, this was the perfect Friday date spot - and really reasonably priced, too. Will be attending again.
One of my favorite go-to restaurants in Portland. The experienced staff members are excellent and really know the menu. The regular items on their menu are fantastic, but their seasonal specials are often even better. And the fresh-made pasta is amazing. You can't go wrong.
3 Doors down is a go to for us, and never disappoints! Their service is bar none the best. Food is on point and temperature is always piping hot! I can't tell you how nice it is to get hot food with steam coming off of it, as it should be! We visited for my son's 11th birthday, Jen did a phenomenal job, decorated the table and treated him as a king. Thank you as always for being consistently awesome and on point.
We count this as one of our very favorite restaurants. The service is always excellent, but not intrusive. The food is delicious , carefully seasoned, and served hot.
While it can sometimes be a bit noisy, that is probably due to the level of enjoyment of the diners!
I could almost make a meal of the crusty bread and scrumptious bean dip.
I wouldn’t change a thing.
I found 3 Doors Down on Yelp, and was a little skeptical of the value portion of the meals, since the menu appeared on the more pricier side; I was not disappointed. I had farfalle pasta with a very rich and spicy sauce. The portion was fitting, and the appetizer was very good as well—a bean dip with great bread. I would definitely return here for dinner.
The food here is always top flight. I particularly enjoyed the organic greens salad and my pasta was perfectly prepared. The "on tap" Manhattans are delicious. On Friday the noise level was almost overwhelming which is not normally the case. Nevertheless, this is my favorite Italian Restaurant in Portland.
