The chef accommodated our request for a plant-based meal by creating special courses. It was very good.
Our meal here was fabulous! I wish our waiter would have explained the menu a little better, instead he was more interested in recommending us one of the more expensive bottles of wine. I was looking forward to trying the tasting menu, but ended up just ordering off the regular menu they had that evening. The tuna tar tar was delicious, I could have eaten two of them! I had the scallops, which were great, but I wish there were more of them. We had the cheese plate for dessert and ended the meal satisfied and happy!
We went with friends and we had the 8 course tasting menu and with wine pairing. The food was delicious and service was impeccable!
The candy apple dessert was amazing.
2941 always meets or exceeds expectations, on food quality, excellent service and ambiance.
Everyone in our party of nine was very pleased, especially with our waiter! He was entertaining and efficient ( sorry I didn’t catch his name but he’s a graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory. The celebration of our 58th Wedding Anniversary could not have been better! Thank you so much,
Although the restaurant is located in an office building, you soon forget that. It has large windows the look out on a park setting. It has tall ceiling, open space, tasteful decorations and quiet background music. It was our anniversary and we we treat wonderfully including a special menu with a anniversary greeting and we were given a Happy Anniversary dessert. The service was attentive and the food was excellent.
A glass enclosed palace with 20 foot+ ceilings. Opulent menu with a la carte and tasting options. Sumptuous craft cocktails.
Service was excellent, sommelier outstanding. food spectacular. setting beautiful, decor a little hotel-ish. love the chandeliers, tho. highly recommend
That was perfection. The oysters were and a clean with a slight salt and a sweet finish. The tuna tartare- fresh with an avocado mousse! The main courses- oh so good. The lobster fettuccine was a good balance of a vodka like sauce without overpowering the lobster. The duck was done perfectly. Scallops with risotto- perfectly al dente and the right amount of salt. Also- did I tell you that they printed special menus that aIs Happy Anniversary for my parents!!! The service was impeccable. Loved it
Everything we had at 2941 was excellent. Four of us tried a number of items from the menu, as well as several appetizers and drinks, and everything was excellent. I'd highly recommend it.
First time dining at 2941. I read that this place was a great place for “romantic dinners”, so I went there to celebrate our anniversary with my fiancé and I have to admit, this place held up to my expectation. The outdoor scenery is impeccable! At first we were seated at an area that was a little too cramped so I asked our hostess if it was any way possible to switch seats and we wanted to make sure that if we switch that she will still be our hostess. Veronique (hostess) was very kind to switch us at our request. Her service was amazing! You can tell she does her job with passion. Before we ordered our food, the way she described the food and it’s taste was spot on with the actual food. Food was amazing and even better service from Veronique! Definitely will visit again.
Went on a quiet Thursday night, and I was worried it would be too fancy, but it was perfect. Calamari appetizer was amazing, entrees were great, and mixed drinks were very tasty. Waiter was a true pro. My wife and I drove separately, and she after arriving first she texted me "use valet! much simpler than parking!" And it was!
This was the fourth time my wife and I have visited 2941. This restaurant is a hidden jem.
The food and service is fantastic (as always) and their sommelier was not only very helpful
but he was entertaining as well. I would recommend 2941 to anyone with a discerning taste for good food.
The decor is elegant but modern. We got the 8 dish tasting menu, and everything was great, especially the smoked chanterelles. We also got the sommelier wine pairing, and the sommelier made great choices and took time to tell you about the wine and why it was paired with the dish.
Great lunch venue to talk Business
Spent the evening at 2941 on September 28. Great ambiance and my filet was perfect. The lakeside setting is always relaxing.
Our last two visits, the service has not been good. The food is excellent. You need to work on your waiter and waitress from my last two visits.
Veronique and Keith made our evening wonderful with their superb service. The food was amazing and the special touches they included made it an anniversary to cherish.
Some years ago 8 of us went to 2941 Restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner. It was a horrific experience. The portions were minuscule and the prices gargantuan. We vowed never to return, and for some 10 years we did not. Then, last week, I had the opportunity of using an OpenTable reward coupon and I decided to try 2941 Restaurant again, partly because we heard that ownership had changed since we were there last. As to appearance, they did away with the magnificent sculpture that had adorned the entry, removed part of the outdoor fish pond and repainted. Still, the restaurant ambiance was lovely, and despite a lot of people not noisy. That's probably because there were no babies and the volume of the room is so large is does not reflect noise efficiently. We had gazpacho, halibut and baked Alaska (and wine). All really good, and I am a harsh critic when it comes to restaurants. It was second only to Chez Auberge Francoise in this area, in my opinion. Even the bread was quite good, and the service was excellent. There are times when you hit a restaurant on an off night. Well, this was an on night! The only downside is that what I just described came to $180 (which my coupon helped defer). That's decidedly on the steep side, but as a special occasion restaurant it warrants consideration. On the other hand, apparently a lot of people are doing all right because the restaurant Friday night was quite crowded.
Delicious and flavorful food. Sitting near the bar was ok. Bar was not crowded and service seemed slow at times. The complimentary champagne for our anniversary was a very nice touch!
The service was non-existent for the first 30 minutes while all other tables were being served. After complaining to the manager three times at last it got to the level it should have been at when we sat down.
I recommend with the qualification that for some reason they dont get it-- on service and that waiting 30 minutes for your first drink is totally unacceptable.
Absolutely fabulous! I try to get away from the downtown DC grind, traffic, parking headaches, and rampant crime by exploring Northern Virginia options. My friend was in town from Germany and I wanted to take her to dinner for her birthday. I'd been to 2941 before and I knew she'd love it.
We were even more excited when we saw that 2941 hired Nikki, our favorite mixologist who formerly worked at Majestic. She made subtle tweaks to the cocktails (my favorite, the "Bee's Knees" got a spicy addition to the formula) and she knew what to make us to match our food selection.
As for the food, I was hugging myself and making yummy sounds the entire time.
The servers are top shelf, and I would easily rate the restaurant as the top in the National Capital Region.
Don't wait. Reserve a table now!
The staff provided a wonderful dining experience for my wife and I.
Your waitress needs some work on her service
Exquisite tasting menu. Our server Veronica was terrific and made the evening exceptional. The sommelier, Keith, was extremely knowledgeable and fun.
Would recommend the tasting menu with pairings, 10/10.
Tasting menu was a step above prior visits. We were well taken care of by Julio and Keith.
Wonderful as usual
Love dinners at 2941! The food is amazing and Jean Marc (sp?) and Veronique are superb!
A wonderful establishment for celebrating special occasions. Service was superb. Calamari is always done so well. Branzino was delicious. 14 oz Creekstone Ribeye was very good but not sure it warranted the hefty price tag. Special touches--personalized menu and dessert for our anniversary celebration--always make us want to come back again.
Wonderful experience and I will definitely come back the next time I am in the area!
The food this evening was lack luster. I'm surprised, as the menu and descriptions sounded so flavorful. Great service, nice setting. I had not been there before, but my husband has. We were somewhat underwhelmed with the flavors/meal.
2941 is a mere 4-minute drive (20-minute) walk from our home and after living here nearly 3 years, we are just now discovering it. One of the best dining experiences we've had in the entire DC metro area. We chose the chef's tasting menu (4 courses for me, 8 for husband). Not one single course was less than fabulous. The staff was exceptional as well. JeanMarc attended us with knowledge, ideas, and absolute professionalism. Keith filled our evening with his passion for pairing. The ambiance is also noteworthy: a gorgeous restaurant in a gorgeous setting with a small collection of fine art. We simply cannot believe we did not know about this before now. Anxiously look forward to our next visit.
It was wonderful in every way!! The setting was gorgeous, the service outstanding, the food exceptional. The special touches like the personalized menu header made my daughter feel extra special on her birthday.
We drove an hour to get her and it was great. People who work there are great and it would be a great place for the gathering I was planning except it is too far away for most of us who live in Maryland. Michelle, who organizes these things, was lovely. We will be back.
Have been a customer for 18 years. Always a delight.
Been here a few times. Food is always good but this time the lobster and fettuccini was a bit under seasoned. Price is a bit high for lunch for three people, $110 including tips. Otherwise, service and ambiance is great.
Great, as always. It was a birthday celebration, and a very nice
place to have it. Great food, waiter, and ambience.
Had a business lunch here this week and I love this place. Gorgeous setting, excellent service and the food was amazing. This was my first time here and I will be coming more often.
Food was awesome.
Good seats, we had a better view of the water than last year.
Same waiter as before and he did a great job.
Bathroom was clean and had paper towels.
The dessert was great.
My wife was happy so I am happy.
