First visit after several years. The food and service were both outstanding. I will definitely return.
Birthday dinner. Service was good. Food was excellent. Was restaurant week so got three courses
This place is awesome -- has been that way for many years. Cannot go wrong here, but it might spoil you against regular food after you eat here too much. Top notch food and gracious service makes it worth going to the out of the way location -- which also has nice grounds with koi ponds, fountains, and a lake for geese etc
The chefs are very talented, but parsimonious with the food.
Good food for restaurant week, but limited menu. The seats by the window are a bit drafty. Overall pretty good experience, I'd try it again at some point.
This place is wild. One of the stranger restaurant designs we've ever experienced, but the food never disappoints. One of the most unique and artistically stunning culinary experiences in Northern Virginia, but if you're living on a budget like us, we highly recommend waiting for a Restaurant Week to roll around.
I have never been disappointed by 2941 until Thursday. Maybe it was because of the limited menu, or because of the lacking service. I felt I had to beg someone to take our order. I didn’t realize it was Restaurant Week. Maybe it was because of that. The price fit the courses we were served. I was expecting the usual 2941.
The food was delicious and the service outstanding. And the views are gorgeous. Definitely a wonderful experience!
Restaurant Week menu options were fantastic. Definitely more that meets the eye.
The most beautiful restaurant space in the area. Some of the very best food in the area. Flawless service. Best bang for the buck during Restaurant Week. A top notch dining experiences! What’s not to likeo
Delicious food, well presented. The service was pleasant and the ambiance was lovely. It's nice to have an opportunity to have something out of the ordinary in pleasant surroundings.
Dining was during D.C. Restaurant Week, so the menu was limited to a choice of one each of 3 or 4 appetizers, 4 entrees, 3 desserts. When we'd made the reservation a few weeks prior I wasn't sure if the restaurant was participating in the program for dinner. The food was good, perfectly cooked, lovely presentation, but some of the entrees were a little on the small side; dessert was definitely small. At first the hostess didn't want to seat us ("it's restaurant week") because we were waiting for another couple to join us but after she checked with the manager we were seated - a definite plus since the bar was full and there was no way to get a drink there.
This excellent restaurant has been among our favorites for over 10 years. It remains in that top group, even during Restaurant Week, when compromise might easily be in place. Our openers (beet and goat cheese salad, butternut squash soup), entrees (seafood risotto and duo of beef), as well as our dessert choices were delicious and beautifully plated and presented. Really nice wine list continues.
Thank you 2041 for remaining the wonderful restaurant you are and for the continual renewal and update you provide with regard to menu and seasonal selections. The setting with the coi pond and the lake overlook is always a beautiful addition.
The service was great. We were there during restaurant week, therefore the menu options were limited. The food was good, but I expected outstanding.
Still raving about the wonderful three-course lunch we enjoyed during Restaurant Week.
Although the ambiance and noise level raised the score to 4 stars, the attention to detail coming out of the kitchen was less than expected. There was something crunchy in my risotto and one of my shrimp came out with some shell.
The taste of the food was good. The service was ok. We’d go back to restaurant week next year to give them another chance before writing them off completely.
It was for our second anniversary and the experience was great!
Went during Restaurant Week to celebrate my husband's 60th. RW menu was very nice. Hard to choose! I had the Salmon Tartare, Sea bass and Chocolate Crunch (? not sure exact name) . The salmon tartare was delicious and beautifully prepared. Sea bass was delicious, nicely prepared as well, but the accompanying base of a white bean in sauce was unimpressive. Nothing green on the plate, just fish on beans. Dessert was tasty, crunchy exterior with a mousse-like filling. RW cocktail list was all intriguing. I had a drink with lavender infused Lillet and some Cava. Very nice. Service was attentive without being intrusive for our party of 6, right up until we needed the check. Took a moment to get someone's attention. Overall, a nice night out on the town, and as our server pointed out, they are offering the RW menu for 2 weeks, so perhaps an opportunity to go back and try another dish or two!
Had lunch here during restaurant week. I enjoyed everything about this restaurant. 2941 has excellent food quality, service and is located in a beautiful setting.
I’ve heard about this place for years and I was so excited to go. But it turned out to be just okay. We went for restaurant week. The soup and dessert were good, the beef, just okay. We never learned the waiters name. They brought out his main course even though he clearly wasn’t at the table, so it sat there to get cold.
I’m good. I don’t need to come here again.
The service, especially at the bar, was excellent. We had to wait a little bit before our table was ready but we’re not rushed to leave. The food and drinks were delicious and it was so relaxing to sit and linger over our cappuccinos. Many thanks!
I had the unusual circumstance of coming down with a cold shortly before my first reservation for restaurant week this week (I am going three times this week to try different things on the menu). I pondered canceling but decided to go so as to not disappoint my family. I decided if I could not “taste” much (so sad!!!), I would focus 100% of appreciation of presentation (plating, color, etc.) and texture (creamy, crunchy, etc.). In truth, I had the most fantastic meal!!!! It was amazing to me how wonderful the meal was in those regards. I have always appreciated this restaurant for ALL aspects of the meal, but being forced by my “stuffy nose” to exclusively focus on texture was a real intense and fun experience for me.
Beautiful dining room, with high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling widows, in a park-like setting. Service was friendly and attentive, dishes arrived without undue delay. Quality of food was very good, not outstanding: scallops, venison and duck were excellent, other entrees (we were 6) were good, and appetizers were good but not notable. Conversation was easy, and dining room was spacious.
2941 was an experience to be savored. A great place to take your time, soak up the cool vibe, and eat and drink delicious stuff.
Very cool and chill location. Off the corporate beaten path with complimentary valet which is a nice touch. Service was smooth, food was amazing especially the chestnut soup!! I will definitely be back.
Delayed holiday luncheon
Lovely setting, easy parking and absolutely delicious food!
You can't get much better than 2941 in dining experience. The service is professional, the ambiance and decorum beautiful and the food superb!
The lower score on service was due to the lobster veloute which had started to congeal when served..
The Rocher dessert was a huge disappointment and did not resemble any of the online photos; it seemed like the kitchen ran out of sauce or perhaps it was served before plating was completed. Dover sole was underwhelming ..
The food was delicious. All the meals were well thought through and tasted amazing. But you can get equally great food in other DC area restaurants without paying as much money. On top of that the service was very slow. At first it was nice to not feel rushed, but we eventually started to wonder if we were ever going to get out of there. Finally, when we picked up our car the valets had left it smelling strongly of cigarette smoke. This is completely unacceptable and why we may never go back.
Outstanding for New Year’s Eve
gotten very overpriced
service was just ok...no utinsels at least 3 times...water glasses not refilled, etc
adding SERVICE FEE of 20% and asking for tip?...really?
We visited 2941 for our New Year Eve dinner as a date night as well. They offered a fix priced three-course menu for the New Year celebration, but each course has multiple selections to satisfy any dietary preference. The food is incredible appealing to look, sense and taste. The chef's creativity came thru successfully and the dessert is wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and the food tremendously.
Amazing sommelier! He made our tasting menu a fantastic experience.
2941 Restaurant is ALWAYS excellent. The food is outstanding, the service is impeccable, and the ambiance is luxurious. I highly recommend the tasting menu. It changes season to season, and it's always surprising to see what amazing tastes Chef Chemel creates. 2941 is an absolute gem of a restaurant.
Wonderful setting with full wall windows looking out to the garden during a relaxed lunch with friends. Cozy fireplaces. Beautiful artwork. The service and food were excellent! We plan to return again soon.
Excellent lunch tasting menu!
Great presentation, lovely venue. Good service.
I took my four year old for a mommy daughter date and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
It is the second time I’ve been to the restaurant and both times the food and service have been impeccable. My family has made lasting memories. Thank you!
Table ready on time, attentive service staff, excellent food—every dish!—, perfect atmosphere for Christmas Eve, tables well-spaced. We had a beautiful experience!
