Second time at 2941. First time was outstanding, this time not so much. Went with the tasting menu both times. New menu from last outing. One of the six courses was good the others were a struggle. Staff was great, table fantastic. Writing this meal off, we will be back (the chef is talented).
Portion way too small. Had 3 course meal and walked out still hungry
It wasn’t the first time we’ve been to this restaurant and we expect the food to be good and it was. We were rushed during dinner I’m assuming because it was restaurant week. We received a cocktail and didn’t have enough time between appetizer and main course to order a glass or bottle of wine. When I ordered tea with my dessert we had completely finished before the tea arrived at the table so I canceled it. We were out in an hour and 15 minutes which is not usual for a Friday night dinner date.
Food was excellent- but the service really dropped when we decided to order from the restaurant week menu. I get it- our tab is less, but then don’t do restaurant week if you don’t give your patrons the same excellent service.
Best tuna tartare in town! Have been going here for years. If the candied Apple is on the menu don’t miss it. Service by Elias was outstanding and made our anniversary celebration such a memorable evening!
We continue to love 2941 and it’s one of our favorite go-to’s for a fantastic dining experience.
The only constructive feedback I would offer for this recent meal was that the food came too fast, even after mentioning at the start that we were in no rush. The food, as always, was amazing!
2941 has always been my parents’ favorite restaurant to go to for any occasion. We took advantage of the extended restaurant week and had dinner there last night. The restaurant week menu was reasonably priced for the selection available. The food was delicious as always and the service staff was very friendly and attentive!
As always, we were delighted with our restaurant week lunch. The exotic goat cheese/beet and the velouté of squash were excellent. The duck ragout and salmon were copious main dishes, and of course, the coco puff and piña colada desserts were heavenly. We enjoy having a reason t9 return to 2941!
My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. 2941 has been a favorite restaurant of ours for many years. We ordered from the "restaurant week"menu. Everything we ordered was perfectly prepared. I especially enjoyed the butternut squash soup. I always feel very special when dining at 2941. The valet parking, the elegant decor and the massive windows bringing in light and the lovely park-like setting provide a perfect setting for a perfect afternoon event.
Loved the butternut squash soup and the salmon with cranberry beans. Two of my favorite dishes. Will certainly be dining at 2941 again in the near future.
As always, excellent and not excessively attentive service. The shrimp salad included many large and delicately cooked shrimp with Bibb lettuce and appropriate dressing.
Fabulous food, beautifully presented! Great, professional service!
The salmon ceviche appetizer was incredible, as was the Venere seafood risotto.
I highly recommend 2941, our favorite restaurant in the Washington area.
Very nice restaurant but not exactly what I expected. The food was good but not outstanding and the overall experience was just not what it should be given the atmosphere inside and outside this restaurant. Something was missing. Lovely idea that just doesn’t quite work.
Birthday The restaurant service was great and the food delicious. They added a special touch as the menu had happy birthday Beth.
Amazing food and service!
Love the look and ambiance of the place - warm & soft lighting, high ceilings, small candles, etc. Super affordable and worth it for restaurant week - went with friends for dinner, which was $35 per person plus tax and tip. I myself ordered Butternut Squash Velouté (appetizer), Venere Risotto (entré), and Exotic (dessert). The risotto was especially lovely, and made with purple rice so quite different from risottos I'd had before. The servers were all wonderful, and overall it was a great night out!
We don't get up there very often because we live a distance away and they're not open for lunch. But, it's always one of our favorite spots for just a nice lunch or a special occasion. The service is always impeccable! ...and the food is exceptional! Looking forward to our next visit.
Food was pretty good. However service was not what was expected for a special occasion restaurant. Our server was not very attentive I am not sure if it was because it was restaurant week or if they were having an off day. We came for our anniversary and it was very disappointing. Even thought I put in our reservations that it was our anniversary , the wait staff did not mention it. The staff bring the food out was very lovely but our waiter was not very good.
Restaurant week was fantastic here!
First timers. Came for $35 Restaurant Week special. Outstanding (but expensive) cocktails. Thoughtfully prepared and elegantly presented dishes. Will definitely return for regular menu.
First visit after several years. The food and service were both outstanding. I will definitely return.
Wonderful experience! Feels like you are far away just inside the beltway!
Birthday dinner. Service was good. Food was excellent. Was restaurant week so got three courses
We went to 2941 for DC Restaurant Week, and this was our first visit. Under normal circumstances, we do find 2941 to be very pricey, even though the food and experience are fabulous. Everything about our meal was wonderful - from where we were seated (by the fireplace and window) to the noise level (quiet!) to the service ( exceedingly professional) to the exceptional menu. We highly recommend 2941 for a special occasion when quality and ambience are key.
The manager was extremely helpful for a problem. His name started with an S, perhaps Sibibo or Sebo or Sibi
Great food. Great service. We went for the restaurant week menu. The food was really tasty and service over the top.
It doesn’t deserve to go in restaurant week
This place is awesome -- has been that way for many years. Cannot go wrong here, but it might spoil you against regular food after you eat here too much. Top notch food and gracious service makes it worth going to the out of the way location -- which also has nice grounds with koi ponds, fountains, and a lake for geese etc
The chefs are very talented, but parsimonious with the food.
We went with another couple to 2941 for lunch during Winter Restaurant Week, and the $22 pris-fixe three-course meal was a good deal given the quality of the food (be aware, though, that with four glasses of wine, tip, and tax the bill came to $45 each). Still, we all agreed it was worth it. The other couple loved their mushroom risotto, and my butternut squash soup was excellent (the other dishes were also good--these two seemed to stand out from comments made). I have to rate down my duck with tagliatelle because that pasta shape is just too difficult to eat with a runny sauce; penne or a similar shape would have made the dish more enjoyable. The desserts were fine (we had three different ones among the four of us), but no one raved about any of them.
Good food for restaurant week, but limited menu. The seats by the window are a bit drafty. Overall pretty good experience, I'd try it again at some point.
This place is wild. One of the stranger restaurant designs we've ever experienced, but the food never disappoints. One of the most unique and artistically stunning culinary experiences in Northern Virginia, but if you're living on a budget like us, we highly recommend waiting for a Restaurant Week to roll around.
I have never been disappointed by 2941 until Thursday. Maybe it was because of the limited menu, or because of the lacking service. I felt I had to beg someone to take our order. I didn’t realize it was Restaurant Week. Maybe it was because of that. The price fit the courses we were served. I was expecting the usual 2941.
The food was delicious and the service outstanding. And the views are gorgeous. Definitely a wonderful experience!
Restaurant Week menu options were fantastic. Definitely more that meets the eye.
We went for Lunch, this is my 3rd time. It has the freshest and best lunch in town.
The most beautiful restaurant space in the area. Some of the very best food in the area. Flawless service. Best bang for the buck during Restaurant Week. A top notch dining experiences! What’s not to likeo
Delicious food, well presented. The service was pleasant and the ambiance was lovely. It's nice to have an opportunity to have something out of the ordinary in pleasant surroundings.
Dining was during D.C. Restaurant Week, so the menu was limited to a choice of one each of 3 or 4 appetizers, 4 entrees, 3 desserts. When we'd made the reservation a few weeks prior I wasn't sure if the restaurant was participating in the program for dinner. The food was good, perfectly cooked, lovely presentation, but some of the entrees were a little on the small side; dessert was definitely small. At first the hostess didn't want to seat us ("it's restaurant week") because we were waiting for another couple to join us but after she checked with the manager we were seated - a definite plus since the bar was full and there was no way to get a drink there.
This excellent restaurant has been among our favorites for over 10 years. It remains in that top group, even during Restaurant Week, when compromise might easily be in place. Our openers (beet and goat cheese salad, butternut squash soup), entrees (seafood risotto and duo of beef), as well as our dessert choices were delicious and beautifully plated and presented. Really nice wine list continues.
Thank you 2041 for remaining the wonderful restaurant you are and for the continual renewal and update you provide with regard to menu and seasonal selections. The setting with the coi pond and the lake overlook is always a beautiful addition.
