Fun fact: The location of the 2920 RoadHouse was once known as New Kentucky Township and the turning point in the birth of Texas!
Fabulous service, great food and a beautiful building. I would highly recommend it.
Great staff, fantastic food, good value, we will return. The facility is very nice for a meal with your friends or family.
Heard from a coworker that warned us it was terrible, but we sadly didn’t listen. Bad experience from start to end. Had reservations, yet tables hadn’t been put together. We asked for lemons 3 times before getting them, and the Salisbury steak was dry, tough and salty so we had to exchange. But the worst part was when we ordered dessert. There were items missing, we weren’t given clean silverware, and our table was COVERED in the dirty plates from both the appetizer and the meal. With a party of 6, it was piled high and they never bothered to clean it. I finally got up to look for our server to get spoons because we couldn’t eat our ice cream with dirty forks, and I ran into the manager/owner. I showed her our table piled high and let her know we had no silverware. Now, any manager I’ve ever encountered would’ve quickly started picking up the dishes and called for her server—except this one. She disappeared into the back for 5 minutes and then finally came out with half the amount of spoons we needed. And our server was behind her with the rest of the desserts. Now by this time everything was cold and soggy. Two biggest problems: first, if you clearly mess up 3 desserts then how can you possibly charge for them?! And second, this is not a fast food joint. The service level doesn’t match the prices. For a restaurant with a mid-$20 entree average, it should not be all high school level wait staff. The waitress was nice, but obviously overwhelmed and annoyed throughout her shift. Shame on the owner for allowing this. Pay professional servers if you want to charge those prices. We will NOT return.
We had a very enjoyable meal. I love the ambiance - Texas history!! Took a couple of pictures of the pictures on the wall. Our server Jackie (sp) was great. When the summertime temps cool down a little, it'll be fun to hang out on the patio and listen to the live music. We will be back for sure.
We had such high hopes for this restaurant. The property and place has A LOT of potential. Service was good and drinks where good too, but food was WAY OVER PRICED. Food was decent for $15 dollars cheaper, but the ribeye at $38 left a lot to be desired in its quality, though flavor was good. Food was on the saltier side which half of the party liked and half disliked.
Due to the prices, it would be hard for me to want to go back or refer to others.
No asking if we were there as first time guest or celebrating anything (which we were both).
This was our first time dining here and it was great. The steak was so good and cooked just right. Service was exceptional. We will be back.
It was our first time and it’s hard to really rate the food at this time however we will be back and have a better idea on where they stand. We had a great time and the food was good, I had a little to much gravy on my Chopped Steak but other than that it was good. The fried green tomatoes were outstanding and was glad they had a red sauce ( tomato spicy sauce ) that I could sub for the ranch it originally came with. I would recommend to others and we will be back
The quality of the food was excellent. The service fantastic. Our waitress Jackie was amazing and the manager Garret was so kind to give us the history of the restaurant and was very welcoming. This place is a must to return.
ABSOLUTELY! A very nice get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. nice trees and peaceful atmosphere. this house turned restaurant was done in style and quality. The food was amazing and quick! they were very accommodating for our family of 5 with 3 small children. kids loved it too!
The location itself is amazing due to so much history. The service and people are AMAZING! The food ... extremely POOR quality and as OUTSTANDING as the menu reads ... the food just was not to par. We were so EXCITED to eat there and the menu looked amazing ... the food was just okay. Very disappointing. But cute place!
Great food, reasonable prices, friendly service, quick service
Excellent food! Fun karaoke!
Nice place in Hockley area!
Service was very slow..90 minutes to get an entree. Steaks were definitely not dry aged as stated in the menu. Ordered grilled shrimp with my steak and they were clearly not grilled. They were similar in taste and texture to the small frozen shrimp you can buy at the grocery store then sauteed in a pan. Based on how rubbery they were, I think they left them under a heat lamp for a long time or they grossly overcooked them. The steak also came out covered in an entree size amount of the shrimp. I cannot stress enough how terrible this dinner was.
I've been wanting to try 2920 Roadhouse since it opened a couple of years ago. Finally made it May 4th. It sets on a beautiful piece of property. Inside Atmosphere was a little "boring". Service was fine and food was pretty good; but not exceptional and a bit pricey. Texas Roadhouse steaks are better and 60% of the cost. What concerned me the most was the lack of crowd. This was a Saturday night at 6:45. Our room had about a dozen tables and only ours and one other had customers. By the time we left, I'd say half were full. Outside there was a band onstage but only ONE table outside had anyone setting there. What's wrong? Beautiful place (mainly outside), great setup (stage, dance floor, fire pit, outside bar, etc) pretty good food and good selection. Why was it empty? I won't "not" recommend it, but I'd have a hard time encouraging friends to go out there. Open to trying it again.
This was my third visit to this restaurant. It's a 30 minute drive for me to get there, but a straight stretch out the 99 with no hassles, and worth it to get away from city traffic and crowds. You'll see horses and beautiful scenery along the way, and more horses beyond the fencing surrounding the restaurant. The parking is convenient and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. The food and service were excellent as they were previously. I was all set to have the rainbow trout, but upon reading about the smoked meatloaf, changed my mind! It was tender and so tasty! Of course we had to have appetizers of fried green tomatoes and fried pickles which are my favorites (I keep wanting to change it up and try others, but haven't managed that yet). After our meal, we went outside to take pics of the huge, gorgeous (oak?) trees that provide a canopy of shade at the front of the building, and must be well over 200 years old; and then walked to the back of the restaurant to catch to a bit of the live performance going on at the pavilion. The weather and temperature were perfect, and we were not bothered by insects (never saw any). Afterwards, we walked off our meal by touring a bit of the surrounding grounds, looking for the historical marker that's supposed to be there. My companion is a history buff and I am a native Kentuckian; thus our interest. In fact, upon driving out, we went across the road and drove through New Kentucky park, which is small, but clean and well kept, and we were extremely happy to find two historical markers on our way out! If you're in the mood for a leisurely, tasty meal in a clean, beautiful atmosphere with historical surroundings, this is the place to go! Although service is prompt, this is an experience you don't want to rush through! I've met friends and family here each time and look forward to my next visit (this is a great place for those special dinners like birthdays, anniversaries, etc., and even a romantic first date)!
A consistently pleasant experience regardless of time of day or choice of menu item. I feel welcome when I enter, cared for while there and appreciated when leaving. Texas is as Texas does.
We went there for a family Friday night dinner, it was nice and casual. The food was good nothing outstanding but not bad. The price point was spot on, we would come here again. The grounds were nice and definitely a nice addition to the Cypress Tomball area. The service was good and overall amrwe would recommend to others.
We all had Chicken fried chicken, chicken fried steak and salmon. Everything was really good. We will be back.
Birthday dinner for a friend.
We have been there several times and they never disappoint! We hosted a retirement luncheon there and a birthday party. The staff bends over backward to please. The food is top notch. It is a darling place, not the usual chain restaurant. It has an interesting history. Check it out. You will not regret it.
Best fried catfish I have had in Houston, and the other food my group tried including burgers, chicken fried steak, and fried chicken strips was excellent as well. I'm looking forward to going back and trying more.
I had a burger and it was awesome.
We took a friend for birthday dinner. Very enjoyable time.
Made a reservation and got there on time and they still made us wait 15 minutes. Waiter was ok but nothing especially wonderful. Food was definitely sub-par. It was good, but I definitely thought it would be better. I had the bacon wrapped shrimp and it just wasn't all that great.
Had reservations. Quick seating. Service outstanding. Food tasty. Recommend providing steak knives when serving steak. Will definitely go back.
Food was subpar for the price and took FOREVER to come. Literally two steaks took an hour and a half to come out. The salads took an hour. And both steaks we're over cooked. Most likely never going back. The brunch menu looked good too but don't think I could take the service again.
We were greeted and seated 30 minutes prior to our reservation. A very lovely hostess. I had never been upstairs before. I’m sure it will be a nice area upon completion. It felt claustrophobic. No windows and little decoration. Waitress was prompt to take drink order. We had to ask for bread and silverware. My glass of wine came half way through my meal. I feel the waitress was spread too thin.
Our food was good. The bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer was phenomenal. I had the bow tie pasta. It was a bit drab. I expected more stuff in the bowl besides meat and noodles. Maybe add some bell pepper etc.
all in all a nice meal.
Extremely disappointed in the food. Hubby had a steak nothing to rave about and I had chicken fry, it was ok, green beans were good but potato’s had to have gravy to give them flavor. Hubby said worst pecan pie ever! I had to ask for a water refill and hubby never did get his coffee even after being asked 3 times., nor was it taken off the bill.
Food wasn’t all that great for the price. Service was fair . We had the ribeye steak , which had no flavor. I had the meatloaf , which tasted like it was 3 days old. Never again go back.
If your looking for a local place, this is it. The proprietors are constantly working to improve the dining experience and they're doing a great job. I love the aged beef filet, but my husband is crazy about the smoked, grilled meatloaf! We'll be back!
We went to 2920 Roadhouse to celebrate birthdays and an anniversary. Menu is diverse and had a good selection. Three of us ordered steaks and one chicken fried steak. Three of us got salads with our meal. One salad came, and it was just a small bowl with some lettuce, carrots and cheese. After a few minutes, I had to remind the waitress that we had two side Caesar salads coming. She finally brought them. Small bowl and over abundance of dressing. Other tables were served hot rolls. I had to ask our waitress twice for them. The steaks were cooked correctly. The bacon onion jam was delicious and enough to share among the three steaks. Had to keep asking for water refills. The white chocolate bread pudding was just OK, but the pecan pie was great. Had a bourbon sauce. I would not recommend this place for a special celebration, but the food was good. Service was slow. They have a Sunday brunch that sounds delicious.
Absolutely! This was a very fun place with great food. Our server, Anthony, was a delight! Quick witted young man. Loved the gals in the gift shop too! We will be back!
We brought 2 guests to Sunday brunch. Very satisfied with service, food & drinks. Staff friendly & accommodating. We will go back.
This was our second time to dine there. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed with the number of tables she had. Our ribeye was ordered medium rare it was more medium. The sides were very good, now the onion rings I had I could tell were out of a bag. The mushrooms were superb. The fried Green Tomatoes were excellent, my wife had green beans & mashed potatoes which she liked. The atmosphere was pleasureable, I enjoyed the dynamics of the room the mix of people dining was nice.
We made reservations and was seated promptly but somehow was forgotten !
First time here , had to ask for drinks and was forgot again ! Once we given a server , service was good but the overpriced steaks were undercooked and lots of fat! It’s a nice place just was a really bad let down for $116.00 meal for three!
Finally we had great service and good food. I was hoping it would get better and it did.
2920 Roadhouse is an incredible "find". Surrounded by gorgeous trees, the restaurant is set back from the busy road providing diners with a quiet, cozy dining experience. The entrees are a variety of wonderful, down-home comfort foods. Reservations are the way to insure prompt seating.
Great people, great food. Went one day for lunch because we were close by at a sporting event and liked it so much we went back the next day for dinner. Super friendly staff and owners.
