Great experience. Wonderful food!
Excellent food, friendly service albeit a bit slow, very noisy. That said it was a Saturday night at prime time, so to be expected. I definitely recommend.
Caprese salad for sharing, spaghetti carbonara and flat noodles with meat sauce/meatballs. All delicious!
Excellent food, friendly & fast service, great location!
Service was great. Food was so so.
Excellent! My entire family loved it here. A little loud but overall comfortable with delicious food. Will return!
Lunch with out of town friends Varied menu, delicious food, great service, lovely beachside atmosphere . Totall recommend.
Love the new updates. Nice seating area outside, good service and good food in the heart of downtown Carlsbad.
Way too noisy ever since remodel. Food good but unacceptable high noise level
Good food in a nice spot.
Nice dinner out with friends
Birthday dinner. Service (waiter Steve) was very accommodating and helpful. Food was delicious (veal piccata, shrimp salad, salmon salad, lobster ravioli and veal Parmesan). The dinner was very enjoyable.
The new owners have converted a bad restaurant into a very good one.. We had Veal Marsala and Piccata and it was great... Service was good also. A definite great addition to the village....
Celebrated our daughters bachelors degree completion. We selected our favorite Carlsbad restaurant to commemorate the milestone accomplishment and were very pleased as always! Great service, cuisine, and ambiance. Wow! The place was really hopping and the atmosphere was exhilarating! Great work and thank you for helping to make the event special!
This was our second time eating here in one week! We had a fabulous experience last weekend with a friend, so we booked a table again for Friday date night for the two of us. The remodel is very cute and it's a bustling and high energy place. The word is out and they were SLAMMED with a line of people out to the street. The first time we ate here we had comfort food: pizza, pasta, fried calamari, and cocktails...it was awesome! (Their bread is amazing too.) The second time my husband had the sea bass and I had the halibut...his was fishy, and mine was overcooked and tough...total bummer. Our waiter was a bit kooky (to his credit, they were SO busy). We put in an order for the calamari appetizer and then our waiter kind of forgot about us. We had to remind him we also wanted to have dinner entrees too. We ordered a bottle of one our favorite white wine and it arrived totally warm. Come here for traditional pastas and the pizzas, and go to Vigilucci's for fish.
We rarely go to 264 Fresco. But now we have been there twice since the renovations. It is great now and we will add it to our regular venues! Very good service, great environment and great food. Went there with my wife, and my son's family, including my granddaughter. They were very accommodating.
One of our favorites. Consistently good food with outstanding service. Highly recommend 264 Fresco for any occasion from causal night out with friends to celebrating milestones.
Great food, slow service
When we got there for a 7:30 reservation on a Saturday it was understandably busy and quite loud. We were seated almost immediately and got our drinks with some bread and olive oil with balsamic to snack on. After that, the service slowed down quite a bit. It took close to 30 minutes to get our food, which seems to be because the waiter was stretched across a very large section of the restaurant. Nonetheless, when it finally arrived the food was fantastic. My linguine mare masso was to die for, loaded with mussels, clams, calamari, shrimp, and flaked sea bass in a very well balanced tomato sauce. My wife got the ravioli di aragosta and was not disappointed either. The filing was full of lobster and the creamy lobster brandy sauce had a delightfully sweet flavor which really complemented the filing well. All in all, if your not in a hurry I would highly recommend 264 Fresco.
We have been coming to this great restaurant for years before they remodeled and became one of the newest jumping restaurant in Carlsbad. It was a Saturday night and the noise level was almost unbearable. for someone under 60 that doesn't mind the load atmosphere it will be great. We will try again on a weeknight next time.
The restaurant was so loud and noisy that we left after the meal but much earlier than anticipated.
We were new to town and didn't know what to expect. But it was fun and delicious. Pasta dishes were quite good. Interior has a contemporary feel. Exterior seating available, too.
Loved it as we always do. Thank you!
Food was delicious, service was great. Was bummed they no longer have the antipasto salad, but the calamari was super light, the caprese was delicious & ambiance was great. It’s super cute. Recommend for get together or date! We didn’t have drinks so didn’t look at menu but I’ll report on that next time
Last time we dined here food and service was excellent all around. This time it left a lot to be desired. The fettucine alfredo tasted like it just had cream poured over it no cheese taste at all and very runny. Timely service was not to be had this night. We will probably give it one more go and then decide on future visits.
The best eggplant and the shrimp with risotto was excellent
Kind of noisy
Food was slow to arrive and waitress disappeared for long periods of time BUT it was yummy and a super cute place
It was a birthday dinner. However seeing different tables celebrating birthdays with desserts and not us was very disappointing. It was stated on open table and server was not informed. Food was good and server was good, my wife was disappointed that she wasn’t celebrated.
The food was very tasty but unfortunately not hot but good enough we would come back. Very loud though, sit on the patio if you want to have a conversation.
This was our third time visiting this restaurant and our first on a busy weekend during a holiday week. The service and food in the past had been excellent but not this most recent visit. The pasta was hard...not al dente...just plain hard, the mussels overcooked and rubbery. The service rushed and certainly not attentive. My husband especially did not enjoy the waiter's butt in his face every time he attended to the table next to us. We will go back because we really do like the menu but just not on a weekend or holiday week.
My wife and I have been going to 264 Fresco for about 10 years now. The food is delicious, the decor and bar upgrades are stylish and fun.
The restaurant is very upbeat, eclectic, fun, creative and a good place to be to enjoy some good food. There are tables, counters, a bar, patio, porch, just a myriad of places to enjoy its' originality. Our waitress was spunky, knowledgeable, happy and on task. Super fun birthday dinner.
Long wait, had to hail a waitress for a beer. Waitress forgot beer. Three of the four orders were missing something or screwed up in some way.
Worst service ever and i'd never return to this restaurant or recommend it to anyone. I left a long review on yelp if you need details of the experience.
Food was subpar.
The service was great as was most of the meals served. The restaurant is very noisy. Kids were actually riding their razor style scooters through the dining area. If you want a cozy dinner where you can talk to each this is not the place.
When we first arrived the noise in the dining room was very loud. We sat in the side patio and it was fine. Entrees took a while to come but server was attentive.
264 Fresco is a great new addition ( although been there for 18 years under a different name) Food , from the pizza to the shrimp/ cauliflower rice was outstanding . That being said, it was raining , so could not sit outside. Inside, the noise level, at peak times, is unbearable. Be warned if you want a nice romantic dinner , sit outside. The food will not disappoint !
Food was delicious, service was excellent good value and nice atmosphere!
This Italian-fare restaurant is located convenient to downtown Carlsbad and near the beach. Free valet parking is a plus in that area. Spacious outdoor seating space with fire pits in several areas. The inside area has bar seating with several large-screen tvs and high tops that get filled quickly during Happy Hour. The inside restaurant area feels industrial.. furnishings are spartan. We were shown to a table for two at the windows. Staff was attentive and knowledgeable. Food and drink were okay.. My date had pasta and I the veal parmigiana.. the veal was tasty and well cooked, smothered in capers. the vegetable medley was overcooked (boiled) for my taste. Wine is poured generously.
Our waiter seemed to be not prepared about today's menu. For example, he didn't know the cost of Risotto of the Day. We brought two different wines for dinner. He didn't asked if we need new glasses. Also he mixdd two different wines into the same glass
There for my birthday and the chicken, mushroom, asparagus risotto, which was not on the menu. I asked our server if the Chef might be able to prepare it and he did!!!! Above and beyond service! Thank you for making my birthday so special!!!
