My husband and I had dinner on January 22nd. It was very crowded, which was surprising because it was a Wednesday night. The hostess was very considerate and tried to find a quiet table, which didn’t last due to more customers arriving. For us, the noise level was the negative part of the evening. The service was terrific, very friendly and efficient. The pomegranate martini was an excellent start. We had the fettuccine with scallops and shrimp which was cooked perfectly. I would only recommend adding more seasoning to the dish. The restaurant has lovely outside sitting areas. Unfortunately, it was too cold to sit outside. I’m sure that’s why the inside was so crowded and noisy. We would definitely eat there again, especially when the weather is warmer so we could sit outside!
We had a very enjoyable dinner wth out of town guests. Food was very good and the service was excellent
We shared many bites of several things ordered. It was all so yummy.
This has become my go-to for Italian food. We have never had a bad meal. Linda (owner) is the best. She always stops by our table to make sure the food was to our satisfaction. A must for locals and visitors!
Our first time
To this restaurant. The food was wonderful and our waiter was very helpful. We will go back here. A great experience!
Great food and excellent service
It was great!
Always a great experience. Love the food, the atmosphere and the staff. Linda, the owner, makes you feel like you’re having dinner in her home with family.
3 generations for an early New Year’s Eve supper. Everyone left happy! Great food - spectacular service.
The food was good and the restaurant was inviting and also had an outdoor eating area. Unfortunately, we dined inside on New Year's eve (although fairly early) and the noise level was very loud. It was mostly due to one table near the bar where the 6 people were mainly drinking and one woman was borderline shrieking constantly--very annoying and our waitress agreed.
Wonderful restaurant in wonderful location. Excellent in all regards.
Really enjoyed the evening. Great food. Fine service. Comfortable ambience.
Food was great. Service was mediocre. Server was very inefficient. Couple next to us was very frustrated with his service as well. He seemed to not want to be there.
We were happy overall as the food was better than the server was bad.
The owner is always there. Linda. She is hands on and lovely. We have always had consistently great food and service. Our favorite place in SoCal
We absolutely love this place. Our favorite. The food is delicious and the service is outstanding. Have never had a bad experience here and we come often.
Nice find. The menu is big enough that it has something for everyone. Service was really good, and food was nicely presented and tasty.
Amazing service! Food was delicious and the overall atmosphere was great. Never disappoints. This location has become our favorite go to restaurant for all of our special events.
We went for Christmas Eve and I liked that you didn’t have to only order off of the price fixe menu. The food was delicious but it was loud. Overall great experience!
We had reservations for days because it was my kids birthday and they couldn’t even send a birthday cake. The food mine specially was super salty. Service super slow. But when it was time to pay. The bill was there in a hurry, I didn’t even requested it.
Nice lunch. Cold rainy day and 264 Fresco was a nice break. Not too busy
This time, our experience wasn't a great as usual. My Mom and I ate on the side patio around noon on a Saturday. Although they were not very busy, service was slow, and infrequent. I ordered the orange salad for the second time, and was disappointed a second time. The di nocci salad with poached pears is much better. More filling, too.
Usually service is much better. I'm starting to notice that when restaurants aren't busy, service seems to drop off. I'm sure the servers are doing other chores, but shouldn't seated, paying customers be their top priority?
We love the food and the ambiance. Our server last was the best we have had.
The food was excellent. All thoughtfully prepared. The drinks also done right. Salad, and shrimp/scallop risotto (booth easy to share) perfect, with three cocktails; out the door very reasonable. I'll go back because I want to try more of their unique dishes.
Chris, our server and the rest of the staff, very attentive.
Made a reservation a few days before through open table. When we arrived, we asked for one of the open tables in the back (away from the bar) so we could have a quiet dinner with our family. The hostess stated those tables were 'reserved' and we were seated in the bar side of the restaurant. The tables in the back remained EMPTY the entire time we were there.
Not off to a great start.
The wait staff was friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, the kitchen had issues and our six dishes were delivered at different times. The food was tasty, but two of the dishes, while good, were cold. We had waited to long to send them back so we just had our dinner. The manager did give us some desert, which it would have been better if he covered the cost of something we already had since it was late and we were full.
Their host staff should be retrained or let go. The kitchen needs help to delivery food on time and hot. The waitstaff was very good and I felt bad for our waiter. We tipped him the full amount even with all the troubles.
Not sure I'd recommend Fresco. I may try again and be specific about where we want to sit (not in the bar, and not outside in 60 degree weather), and let the waiter know about delivering hot food in good timing.
Excellent food and service . It is a beautiful open air dinning room 1 block from the beach. Their salads and pastas were excellent. The service very attentive and friendly.
This is a great spot. The food was great and ambiance fantastic.
Service was spectacular!! Food was delicious, as always. We frequently dine here and bring our friends! Do yourself a favor and try this place, you will not be disappointed!
The food and service where outstanding. The whole downtown area of Carlsbad was a great experience
Are on patio. Very noisy folks around us using phones and partying. Food very good. Service very good. Not a great option on Friday for a quiet dinner with significant other.
Business dinner for 6 following a long day of meetings. Our table was ready per our reservation and service was prompt. Food came out at the same time and to a person everyone enjoyed their entrees. My only complaint, and it is a pet peeve of many restaurants, is that the person taking your order is not the person delivering your food and as such there is the "who ordered the..." nonsense. At this price point everything worked well. Inside noise is loud but not overwhelming whereby you could still have a conversation with the person across the table without shouting.
Great food and service at a reasonable price. This was our 3rd visit and they are consistently great!
Our server Stacy was really wonderful. She was friendly, and funny. Took our orders and helped with recommendations. He risotto with shrimp and scallops was yummy. The portions were a good size and the cost was reasonable.
Superb food and service.
Good food at a good price and superb service. Usually a fairly noisy place, but on this night it was ultra quiet. Great service from our server, who was also fun to talk to.
Diverse menu. Good food. But quite loud. It was hard to carry on a conversation.
Overall, the food is good. Our table of nine ordered a variety of dishes. At times the service was spotty in terms of plate timing. The table next to us sat down and was served even though they sat down after our group was in and we had ordered. We also had down time when the plates were taken away and waiting for either a dessert menu or bill.
Food was amazing. And even though it was Thanksgiving, our waiter seemed happy to be working on a holiday that he could spent it with his family.
Thanksgiving Day! What a wonderful way to spend Thanksgiving 🦃. With family all doing their own thing this year, my wife and I selected 264 Fresco for an evening meal. We were not disappointed - the joyous hostess, attentive serve staff, cocktails and delicious food combined to create a stress free and memorable meal. We started with her Prosecco🥂and his Grey Goose martini 🍸, plus calamari and bread. We raised our glasses and toasted all we have to be thankful for - family, health, love❤️, Carlsbad and a republican in the White House😊.My wife went with lobster 🦞 and ravioli, a full sweet whole lobster served with a tad of melted butter and cheese raviolis. I dined on Caesar salad 🥬 and linguini with tomatoe 🍅, garlic, basil and olive oil - absolutely hit the spot. We packed home Apple Pie 🍏 served with fresh apple slices and homemade whipped cream. We have never been disappointed at 264 Fresco.🎯
