Food was great. Atmosphere was great. My waitress Liz and the young gentleman she was training was wonderful. Thanks! :)
Awesome food and service ....... the fruity pebble French toast amazing
Amazing food, good wine and even more amazing wait staff who brought my friend the largest cotton candy bowl ever!
Muy rico todo
Good food...a bit expensive $$ but worth it. :) C
Tasty food, knowledgeable staff. Will be back
220 Merrill has always been my first choice to done for a special occasion or random date night. This particular day, Oct 6, I choose to celebrate my birthday at the Birmingham, MI location. Our waiter, Chris, provided excellent customer service. Chris was polite, accommodating & funny, even singing "Happy Birthday" to me w/the promise to never sing to me again! :) I will definitely recommend 220 Merrill to my friends and family, as well as revisit the location again in the near future.
Thank you for the opportunity to give 5 stars for an excellent review.
Excellent service festive hip atmosphere steak cooked to perfection
Went there for lunch/brunch. I thought the food was excellent and reasonably priced.
Excellent food and service
Dropped my daughter and her 5 friends off for Homecoming Dinner. Very well mannered girls. Two of which have food allergies. I went in with them an assured that the 20% would be added for tip. The server came over while I was there, did not introduce himself. He continued to be dismissive the entire meal. The girls asked him to verify that their food allergies were met with the two meals, he left and did not return to the table, approximately 5 minutes later another server checked on them to see if they were okay because he noticed they were not eating. He was back within 40 seconds to assure them that their meals were safe. The girls said that other staff was very kind to them, and helpful. Their main server was not at all, and rarely checked on them. I'm disappointed that he made an easy 25-30$ off of them with the guaranteed tip and treated them like kids. I am grateful for the other workers. The place is beautiful, they said the food was amazing. I think prices are reasonable for what you get, I also think the location and facility is beautiful and well kept. Super disappionted in how are kids were treated. They are not "spoiled brats", great girls, a special night and your restaurant was a treat for them! Thank you to those that were in the kitchen and that were kind. I'm sorry their server got the tip and not you!
Went here for brunch with my mother. Great atmosphere and the food was excellent. I recommend the Bloody Mary, just the right amount of spice and boldness
Perfect setting for a special occasion, birthday or anniversary. Great service and a menu to die for.
Steak was very very well done and came out cold to the touch. Didn't get refills due to lack of service.
Our waitress was a bit off, seemed like she was having s bad day. The service could’ve been better, but everything else was great!
Good atmosphere and the food was really delicious.
Awesome food, interesting menu and overall great experience.
This a terrific place for a special occasion. The service and the food was first rate. The early crowd on a Friday gathers in the bar area and it gets pretty loud. I asked to be moved to a quieter area; the the hostess immediately honored our request. Our group was all seniors. This in an expensive restaurant that provides a high end experience. We will come back again.
Surprised there weren't more people in the dining room for lunchtime...too serene. Prefer a more lively atmosphere. Service was okay, but not great...had to seek attention...multiple servers was confusing. Waited for lava cake too long, and then had to insert candle and light it myself. My penne pasta was terrific, but my wife's pizza wasn't impressive to her...I didn't try it. Highlight was the ladies from their private party room, came out and sang happy birthday. All in all, we had a nice lunch celebrating a 99 year old birthday, but it could have been a little more special to fit the occasion. Just providing constructive criticism so you can keep getting better. I'm sure we'll be back sometime and look forward to improvement.
This is probably a place for 30 somethings on a Thursday night. It is probably not comfortable for anyone else on that night. Our server was excellent and the food was good. We had to fight our way out through the bar, with what appeared to be many "regulars" . If this is what you are seeking, this is the place.
Fabulous presentation and delicious meal!
Fantastic food and fantastic service! We will be back soon!
Food and service was good. We had a relaxed meal in the patio.
It was wonderful. The service the food was phenomenal ❤️
We had a nice lunch at 220 Merrill. Their menu had many choices and it all looked tasty. Our server seemed not to be enjoying her job and did not acknowledge a couple of our requests. We had to ask twice for lemons for our water and our appetizer was forgotten. Even when reminded, it appeared we were putting her out to correct the mistake. We did eventually receive our truffle fries and they were hot and delicious but we never received an apology and she didn't even admit her mistake. Our lunch for four was almost $100 which is quite pricey for lunch. While the food was good, it seemed a bit overpriced.
Now I know why it's in high demand in Birmingham! Highly recommended to spend a good time with your friends! (Ask for the lamb chops!)
Great experience over all!
Only issue the bees on your patio that made it uncomfortable enough to request to move indoors. The bees were in our food as a result we paid for appetizers that we did not fully eat or enjoy.
We had our entre indoors.
Always a pleasant experience. Great food and great atmosphere. We dined outside on their awesome patio.
I think the dinner at 220 is much better than the brunch/lunch service. The food orders of 3 out of 6 people were messed up by the server (one order was not even put it). The 20% gratuity is automatically added to parties of 6 so there is no effort in service. Won't be returning for lunch. Their lamb chops on the dinner menu are pretty good though.
I enjoy dining here. I like the outdoor dining. Food was good. Service is attentive. Wine is a bit pricey compared to similar area restaurants. People watching is interesting here.
A group of my girlfriends and I celebrated our friends birthday for lunch and it was a great experience. They have the best build you own salad option which satisfied us all and the service was outstanding. Kayla made sure we had everything we needed without us even asking.
7PM reservation for two. We were sat at a table outside right away and the staff was delightful. However, there were two main experiences that led to the low review and lack of recommendation. 1. it took almost an hour to receive our appetizer which was 6 oysters on the shell. 2. The $39 filet mignon I ordered was overcooked. With that being said, the steak was still very good and it was a good quality cut of meat, however, I order my steaks medium-rare and this steak barely had a pink center. The staff did end up taking the oysters off the bill and offered to take my steak back and cook a new one. While these are commendable offers to make up for the poor experience, both shouldn't have happened in the first place and by the time I got my steak, I was not interested in finding out how long it would have taken them to cook a second steak. For a $200 dinner for two (with tip) it is not worth risking to deal with these issues again.
220 never disappoints! This is one of my go to spots with my girl friends that we frequent every couple of weeks. The drinks and tuna tartare are amazing! See y'all soon!
Awesome business lunch that was so great we came back for their happy hour. Staff is very attentive and food is outstanding!
Usually I have a good experience here but this time was not the best. The waitress was nice but service was slow and we had to ask for silverware after the appetizers arrived and had to ask someone to call her for the main order after waiting for 30 minutes. The food was good but my burger was over cooked... I asked for medium but it was extremely well done and hard to eat. I’ll
I love having business lunch meeting there - not too crowded and service is quick!
Food was good, waitress was amazing. Environment was a bit too loud. Couldn’t hear our own conversation.
Fun date night spot or good for a night with the girls. Great drinks and appetizers. Get the snickerdoodle for dessert!
food was good. service was prompt. i like the decor and the casual atmosphere
