First restaurant we tried during our visit to Norfolk. Took a good amount of time to get a server…we even had to walk around the restaurant to find one. We liked the crab stack but the chips should be thicker. They were out of a few entrees which was disappointing because I went there for the short rib. The dark, candlelit interior with (sticky) wood tables was calming and nice.

Great service however food & drink was a bit lackluster. Portions were nice size but for the price nothing was “wow”. Mixed drink was awful. Was expecting a higher end atmosphere- was very casual. Fine but just not what we were expecting.

We ordered off the Restaurant Week menu. I got a chicken pasta dish. My wife go the salmon. The drinks were very slow arriving as was the food. Our she crab bisque soup was small but flavorful with a very small amount of crab. The pasta was very good and hot when it arrived. The salmon was a nice size and cooked just right. The mean included three desert options and were nice. Overall we enjoyed our visit but found it a little pricey which is typically the norm anymore.

Excellent meal. Took a bit long, but we didn’t mind. We had gnocchi, bacon wrapped goat cheese, duck l’orange tartine, drunk duck burger and Baileys mousse. All were phenomenal. We can’t wait to go back!

Honestly, I was super excited for drinks and dinner. Drinks were OK, (Whisky Sour & Old Fashioned). The bacon-wrapped figs were great, crab stack was ok but lacked a little seasoning. Bone in pork chop came highly recommended and came cooked well, but had little to no season or any sort of color/grill marks. The same lack of seasoning was overheard from the table behind us. I ordered the braised short ribs and polenta. Polenta and the sauce were great, the beef had 3 small bites of meat and the remaining dozen bites or so were nothing but gelatinous fat that could not be eaten. The server (awesome) tried to fix it with a new piece of meat as the problem was obvious, but at that point, the cooks' lack of care on protein selection was the nail in the coffin. Can't return here for overpriced Diner food. Far better choices and creativity in the same area of Norfolk for a better value can be had in my opinion.

I appreciated having our reservation moved from 5:30 to 6 pm as were stuck in traffick on the Monitor Merrimac bridge. The restaurant was very noisy. Our waiter was very attentive. My husband got the salmon and he said it was wonderful. I got the bone-in pork chop and it was okay. It was a little dry and the charred brussel sprouts were burnt. The pureed cauliflower was very nice.

I typically have a great experience at 219 - and this recent experience was nice too - especially the service - except for one thing. I ordered the kale Cesar and added shrimp. Had I known I was only going to receive 3 small to mid-sized shrimp for an additional $12 (that’s $4 per shrimp for those who do the math) I would not have ordered that. Is that normal? Or, did some shrimp get lost on their way from the kitchen to the table?

219 has changed over the years but has now become a casual (lots of screens so a bit sports barish) fine dining establishment. In the past we have criticized the incarnations, but this one is excellent, with great food offerings and presentation, nice bar and wine list, and great service. Four thumbs up.

Well worth the value. Not ridiculously expensive. All the table thought it was fresh and delicious...and we had an array of food to taste. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. Definitely go again and again....

Very nice restaurant for dinner before seeing Hamilton at Chrysler Hall. The Crab Stack, and She Crab Soup were amazing. Cocktails also amazing. There was an active leak in the ceiling of the men's room that somehow was not being addressed. Otherwise, the ambiance and service were very good.

It was a beautiful night so we opted to eat outside. It was a bit noisy on Granby Street but that was to be expected. Our server - Brock - was very accommodating and provided excellent service

The valet parking is what caught my eye. I hate norfolk parking. Everything was really delicious. We had the Crab stack and duck burger. We were greeted with a smile at the door and sat for our reservation promptly. Our server (Marcus maybe) was really nice and gave honest feedback on the dishes we ordered. Cocktails were on point. When we left, the same hostess said goodbye and thank you. That's very important. We will definitely return.

The food was positively delicious. No disappointment. Our server knew the menu inside and out, although he must have been spread a little thin. Drinks were very slow to deliver with 1 person in our party never receiving a requested refill. We actually went to the hostess to request a visit from our server and a second time to pay. Weather was fabulous and we enjoyed the outdoor dining. Downtown was a bustling with energy. Parking is close, plentiful and affordable. Will visit again.

Very nice and knowledgeable server Alfonzo. Elegant but no so much you feel the need to wear a suit, just slightly upscale. Delicious food. The filet with the black pepper konjac sauce was insanely good.

There are TVs with sports on… not what we expected. The soup and zucchini app were very salty (and I use lots of salt)… The wedge salad prices are way overpriced. Also added $12 for 3 unflavored shrimp. ! The guy who delivered food from the kitchen brought the soup w/o a spoon… AND both our salads without the dressing. Our candle went out and we had to ask for a new one. Not like the candle did much for the mood in a sports bar atmosphere. Really was just WAY overpriced and the food and service are NOWHERE the caliber they need to be for such prices. Our young waiter was nice, but clearly inexperienced. Had to ask repeatedly for things such as water… We go to a lot of expensive restaurants. Very very surprised this one had so many positive reviews. Overall a very expensive lesson.
