I finally got around to trying 212 Steakhouse, and am so glad that I finally did. They currently have a nice selection of tables both inside and outdoors. I sat in a cozy table near the bar, and felt very safe. I had the lobster bisque soup to start - which was fantastic. I then had the Scottish salmon with the baked sweet potatoes on the side - amazing. I finished with the chocolate lava cake, which was delicious. The service was outstanding. One of the best restaurants in Midtown East.
Food was horrible , calamari way to salty as well marinara sauce. ufff octopus very sour and to much oil in , steak tasted weird maybe an old meat or the way of defrost very funny taste, only good thing was the Mac and cheese that was yummy. expensive place I was expecting to have a good food tasty one. Guys were awesome the attendants, other then that I can’t give more then one star for that food. Very bad. Definitely we will not coming back.
It was a great experience. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. We loved it.
Their outdoor area was particularly nice and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The arugula salad with candies walnuts, burrata and shrimp cocktail were great starters. We followed up with a delicious filet and tasty burger. Definitely on our list to go back soon!
Great food and service
My boyfriend and I had a dinner date recently and it was great. We had the lamb chops entree and we left bones on the plates. Our cocktails were nice and strong. And our bill wasn’t bad at the end. We’d go back.
We drove a few hours to check this place out, seeing as how it is the only place in the east coast to Waygu. So There are a few things I will
Tell you. We had dinner outside, of course due to covid no indoor seating. We had a nice table it was in the front of the restaurant so lots of traffic going by but hey it’s New York what can you do. I didn’t mind it actually. The staff was nice, knowledgeable and very attentive. First, the truffle mashed potatoes were good, not great. Not much truffle flavor. French onion soup was amazing!! Must get. Arugula salad Also amazing and fresh! My husband ordered the Australian Waygu skirt steak. He said it was great. Small piece of meat for the price but he thought it was good non the less. My daughter and I shared the dry aged Australian Waygu bone in ribeye. The steak was amazing, it was big and between us two we probably ate 3/4 of it and took the rest home. It was great with steak and eggs the next morning and still tender. Then the most important part of this all and the reason we traveled there was for the Waygu. So. I ordered the 3oz Waygu ribeye ($84). I have to be honest and say it wasn’t great. Seemed overcooked and my knife certainly didn’t go through it like butter (from my research lol) it was over cooked to
Med well and I asked for medium. My husband nor my daughter enjoyed it and actually they thought it was Chewy. I was super disappointed cause that was why we traveled 3 hours!! And to pay $84 for 3oz of steak that was not amazing was heartbreaking. Although I will say we knew the prices and had checked out the menu so I’m not saying that I was at all surprised when the bill came. One important thing I would have to say though is the food was very bland. Not much if any salt flavoring in the Waygu or the ribeye. Overall, my recommendation would be to go for the other steaks. The Waygu does not seem worth it. Maybe it was the way it was cooked. But it’s worth a visit.
Food was amazing, service was top notch (great wine knowledge!) , really great experience!
It was our anniversary dinner and I did make a note of it in notes to restaurant but there was no acknowledgement. The service was definitely not up to par for a steakhouse. I know we are in a pandemic and restaurants are having a hard time but I had to ask to have my water glass filled and honestly the hostess was just standing around. There was only one waiter and busboy so maybe the hostess could have given them some help. Octopus appetizer was the best we’ve ever eaten. Thank goodness because it took almost an hour to get it. The porterhouse was nothing special and that goes for the truffle mash and Brussels sprouts as well. Tiramisu dessert was not up to par. We have a favorite steakhouse but unfortunately they were not open.
By far the worst restaurant I have ever been too. Waiter was rude! Would never go back ate my appetizer and left! So disappointing
The Food Was Perfect
Great food and great service as always.
Excellent food and service. Will definitely go back when the world opens and there’s inside dining.
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the outside seating. It has been an unusual few months and this was a treat.
Always a wonderful experience here. Service was a little slow this time around but that’s because of the special circumstances and extra precautions needed. Just be patient and the delicious food will make up for the time spent waiting.
Probably one of the best meals I have eaten in a while. The ambience was exceptional and the food was exquisite. Ten out of ten, absolutely would recommend.
Had a great time there with my girlfriend. Food was amazing.
Our server Alex is friendly, knowledgeable and a delight. The food is too-notch, especially at the price point. We had the zucchini chips and jumbo shrimp cocktail to start - both delicious. My wife and I each had the Canadian prime T-bone steaks, which were charred on the outside to perfection and perfectly juicy on the inside. I love this place and will recommend it to all of my friends.
Everything from start to finish was amazing. You HAVE to get the grilled octopus (i know weird since it’s a steakhouse). A+
We had a Grilled Octopus and 212 Premium Selection for Two. Octopus was so tender and delicious. And also the taste of the steak was so good.
Wagyu skirt steak is my favorite.
Their service was good as well. We will definately come back again
For appetizers, the grilled squid was really awesome! I was very excited to try their oyster platter here, but they weren't serving it at the time of my visit, I think for safety reasons because COVID. But the steak was good, overall, it was a very pleasant dining experience. Oh, and their staff is THE BEST!
I will definitely be coming back & with many people! My new favorite place 😀😀😀
Came here for a first date, the dining experience was wonderful! Thank you!
I love a good steak, and based on the reviews on yelp and the fact that I got a deal for a Groupon, this seemed to be the right move! We arrived, were seated immediately and started to review the menu. We decided on the Australian Wagyu Ribeye for 2 for $90. And for a side we ordered the lobster Mac and cheese. We ordered the steak to medium temp, but when it arrived, it was definitely med-rare to rare. We let the server know and he ensured us that the steak was cooked to medium temp. Regardless, he took it back for a little more cooking. It was still a little undercooked, but the plate it came on was hot enough to cook it the way we liked. The steak was tender as it should be, but had NO FLAVOR! We could barely taste the seasoning they put on the outside of the steak. I would never ever ask for steak sauce, but because I wanted to enjoy my meal, I did. He brought me Worcestershire sauce. It helped a little, but after a closer look, the sauce had expired in sept 2019. It's mid March of 2020. This immediately turned me off and I was done eating at that point. The Mac and cheese was bland as well. Just no flavor, and I didn't get any lobster in what i had of it. I asked to talk to a manager, but the server said I could just talk to him. He apologized a few times, and cleared the table and said maybe next time we will enjoy it. So so so disappointing. And now I'm out the money I paid for the Groupon, because I do not plan on returning to this restaurant.
We ordered a 32 oz ribeye with the bone cooked perfectly. Sides were delicious but very small portions for the price. Service was excellent. It was fairly empty, we were 1 of 3 tables which was a plus for the attentive service.
The food was delicious and the service was great!
The restaurant is very elegant the waiter was very helpful and accommodating the food was amazing
No ambience and very dark. Food was good. Staff were ok
Salmon was dry and bland but other than that, it was lovely! And never revived a complimentary dessert for my anniversary
Delicious food. Alex was amazing and very helpful.
I bought dinner for 2 on Groupon. I was told it was a $ 100 value I’m getting for $60 on Groupon . When I get to the restaurant I was told I on live $60 anything I order will only subtract $60 I would pay the rest. So what happen to the Groupon $100 value . I was disappointed.
Very attentive service from our waiter who recommended the choice of meat to us. It turned out to be the amazingly
delicious aged Porterhouse steak, seasoned and cooked to perfection with a side of tasty sautéed garlic spinach!
Best meal i ever had in my life..... nothing could of been more perfect
