21 Greenpoint is a great neighborhood spot that’s not just a consolation prize if you can’t get into Paulie Gee’s across the street.
THIS RESTAURANT IS AMAZING. I have nothing but positive things to say. The owners mother was in the other evening when I brought my own mother in for the 2nd time and she so kindly sent over a drink to my mom, HOW NICE?!
I just love the people, the food, the atmosphere, and everything about 21. Its truly amazing and such a lovely place to eat and enjoy good company and good people!
FABulous brunch. Look forward to trying out the dinner menu.
Had dinner with my friend s and ordered a pizza to go at the end. Service, food, and ambiance could not have been better!
We love this place! The brined pork chop was superb and the desserts were over the top. The wine list is fairly priced too.
One waitress did a great job of doing the whole restaurant... but it was slow. Cocktails are excellent. Good, classic food. Great setting
Food was not very good, and small portions. We left still hungry, and ended up getting pizza.
You and me and a bottle. Save tonight!
The only downside (if I had to write something) was that (1) the food came out too quickly - would’ve preferred the courses more spaced out to have a more leisurely meal and (2) that it was a bit too warm in the restaurant; it was an unseasonably warm day and perhaps they didn’t put on the AC or have fans going.
We were in town from Maine and chose 21 Greenpoint for a special family dinner. My son and his wife live in the neighborhood, and had not been there before. It was wonderful! Lots of terrific attention from Arion, who made us feel very special. We also met the owner, Homer Murray on the way out. He introduced himself and chatted a bit. A lovely way to treat your guests! We will go back!
You have probably heard of 21 Greenpoint because it's owned by Homer Murray, Bill Murray's son. What you should know about 21 Greenpoint is that the food and drink is done extremely well. Utilizing local and seasonal ingredients, 21 Greenpoint sets the bar high. This visit my girlfriend and I split the Mickey's Salad and the Chicken Roulade. The Mickey's Salad (mixed greens, radish, crouton, feta and shallot vinaigrette) was really good. Such a simple salad but full of great flavors. The Chicken Roulade (merguez, bacon, hummus, root vegetables, herbed yogurt, and saffron) was what we both went crazy over. Crispy bacon wrapped around chicken with great fresh vegetables and hummus? You won't be disappointed. They also have craft cocktails which are very good too. Be sure to check them out.
We had a good time on our girl's night. This was our second annual Fall girls outing at 21 Greenpoint. We wanted to make it a tradition since the ambiance is so nice, we're mostly all in the neighborhood and my friends are obsessed with Bill Murray.
I will say that last year and this year's food fell a little short for me personally.
Last year we got a bunch of dishes to share, albeit the portions are pretty small. We had ordered a pasta dish last year that was like an alfredo but with a ton of whole peppercorns mixed into it. It was way too overpowering, where probably one crushed peppercorn would have been enough. We ended up picking out all the little peppercorns out of both orders and eating the dishes that way.
This year, I ordered the Mussels in Tomato sauce. The mussels were fresh and the dish was plentiful but the flavor was lacking. There needed some more herbs to lift the dish. It was a very one note tomato sauce.
My friends love it here, mostly due to the possibility of seeing Bill Murray, but the food and drinks are very meh in comparison to the millions of great restaurants in NYC.
The service here, however, is always impeccable. Really nice wait staff and very friendly.
This is by far one of my favorite restaurants in all of NYC. The food is amazing, the space is inviting, the music is perfect. Most of all, the bartenders and wait-staff create a warm, welcoming vibe. No Pretense...Totally authentic. We closed the place; really didn't want to leave. Reminds you what a restaurant experience can be. Be back soon.
A balanced mix of creativity, good ingredients and flavors: local, without attitude and Williamsburg B.S. (go Greenpoint!).
Was disappointed to learn that "21 Sunday" had been discontinued.
I cannot speak for dinner, but the brunch was very "one note." Because it is such a cute place, I'd go back and try dinner even if the service was lacking too.
Shoutout to Garrett! And, possibly the head chef working while I was there who personally checked to see if the food was up to snuff. More than up to snuff. Awesome spot - will definitely be visiting again!
Outstanding. The staff was friendly and accommodating for a birthday party. Food was fantastic. Thank you!!
The maître d' was very nice and accommodating. Nice lunch.
Absolutely delicious and beautiful! We had a great dîner and we can't wait to try it for brunch
The eggplant appetizer was served on sliced bread from the grocery store (practically wonder bread). The pizza managed to be burnt but not crispy. the pot of mussels were ok but overpowered by the sauce. The service was good, so overall an OK experience. We will not be returning.
Our new favorite restaurant. Amazing vibe and awesome food!! Went to celebrate my husband's Birthday and it was awesome from start to finish!! Can't wait to go back!!
The ambience and food were good, however our group of 5 received 3 meals at one time and the other two about 10 minutes later. Also the brunch pizza on the menu is huge, big enough for two, and our waitress failed to mention that. There ended up being a lot of food waste. Other than that it was great.
the restaurant was nearly empty and the waiters give us twice a table in a corner!
The air condition was so high that we seam to be in a hurrican:much to cold!!
My burger was the smollerst i ever had with the bigggest price i ever had!!!
My wife was still hungry after the meal,me too!!!!
the taste was very strange(pork with mint!!!!!...)
We saw Bill Murray!
wonderful food but be prepared to share as they bring dishes out one at a time
it can be a bit uncomfortable on that level I would personally prefer to have my own dish
Really nice spot. Great decor and the food is pretty tasty. The drinks are good and the service is friendly.
We were visiting from Australia and enjoyed a fantastic meal and great service. Pizza was outstanding and the envrionment was friendly and relaxed. Service staff were very helpful and attentive. Great night and would go back again.
Loved it! Surprisingly good, not at all pretentious... all around 5 stars, baby!
Dined with an old friend after a long time of not seeing each other. The meal was nicely-paced. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, the entire team that night made us feel welcome and special.
The food was good. Aside from a really excellent pasta dish, I wouldn't find it very memorable. But since the bill wasn't so much, I'm forgiving. The ingredients were fresh and seasoned well. The only real miss was a soup minestrone, which was a weak broth with some carrots--sort of odd but I understand on Sundays, when I went, they try to use product that's at hand. Service was friendly and unobtrusive, and the environment is comfortable.
Low key and awesome. I could go every Sunday, I just wish there was more food.
Good food, nice place. The fried potatoes for brunch are delish!!
The food was wonderful, very flavorful, well prepared, unique flavors. Our server was excellent, there when we needed him but not intrusive.
Super cute decor! Interesting menu, great breakfast pizza, very large serving! Good service, will definitely be back!
Such a (semi) hidden gem on the Greenpoint waterfront. I've been a few times with friends and dates and the vibe is always perfect. Fun, relaxed, upscale, Brooklyn. Never pretentious (as some Williamsburg spots can be) and always on top of service and food.
The design is also very stylish without trying too hard & interesting.
Came here for date night, right by the water, dead end street, local beer and local food. Food was good, beer was good, dessert menu was limited, but overall solid food and excellent staff. Will definitely be back!
ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. SERVICE WAS A LITTLE SLOW; TEAM WAS NOT SUPER ATTENTIVE OR FRIENDLY.
I've been here a couple of times and both time had a really good experience. The place is very casual, but at the same time, upscale enough that it's not filled with screaming 20 somethings like many places in Greenpoint. It's great for a group as they have many larger tables and their menu and service is very accommodating for group dining. The second time we were there as a table of nine, and we ordered somewhat sporadically which some places get annoyed about, but here was taken in stride and was a big part of us enjoying the pace of our own dinner. Also, almost all the food I've had has been great.
Need more vegetarian options! We went for the third time this weekend and only one vegetarian option on the menu. I didn't feel like pizza since I had it the night before nor did I want yet another pasta so I chose an appetizer. You usually have more choices for vegetarians. Please go back to that. We are hoping the visit was just an "off" day.
Delicious, cute environment
