What Insiders Are Saying
21 Greenpoint is a great neighborhood spot that’s not just a consolation prize if you can’t get into Paulie Gee’s across the street.
The food was great. It was delicious and fresh. However, when we arrived our table was not ready for another 30 minutes. The waiters often forgot our drink orders and we had to reorder them several times. I wish the staff was more attentive and caring.
Enjoyable, but seats cramped and prices high. Will try again.
Great food. Risotto, pizza and bone marrow was amazing. The staff was so nice to accommodate our large party, as well.
Happy waitress changed my drink after I didn’t like it. She was very nice! Thank you so much!
I love 21GP and live locally, so that makes it even better. I do have to say that I prefer dinner to brunch, although the food is great either way. Their cocktails are lovely and my favorite thing on the menu is their charcuterie & cheese board. Great place for a date night or catching up with friends.
Had a group of 6 people in for dinner. The food across the board was amazing. Our server was super nice and helpful. Vibe was great. Will go again. Get the pizza!
Phenomenal brunch. We got the gluten-free pumpkin pancakes and the bacon hash cakes (also gluten-free). Best brunch I’ve ever had. Service was perfect too.
Great decor and fun atmosphere but food is surprisingly sub par. Staff is lovely and great location. So disappointed that the food is bad.
My daughter and I spent a few hours with you on New Years eve ,at which time we really enjoyed the whole experience .The menu is creative along with the decor & prices are very fair for New York .We will be back for the pepperoni pizza and the panna cotta desert "Molto Bene".
My partner and I booked a table at 21 Greenpoint for NYE only to be let down by the food and the cocktails. Usually we would let certain things slide if the food was worth it, but there was nothing to write home about that will bring us back.
Starters: For $32 we ordered the meat and cheese platter to start our evening. It lacked variety of options, quality of the cuts and the quantity was not worth the money we paid for. No prosciutto, no olives, no crackers. 2 unidentifiable spreads, pepperoni and salami slices surrounding a mountain of burnt edged bread.
Appetizers: I ordered the seared scallops with mushrooms and broad beans. Although mine tasted okay, it certainly was cold by the time it reached my table. My partner ordered the wild boar lettuce cups. I was able to sample the dish as well and we were unimpressed with the lack of flavor in the meat. The stew-like filling dampened the crispness of the lettuce cups which looked more like boats, floating in a pool of meat broth.
Mains: The pork chops were salty, and did not come with the fingerling potatoes that was stated in the menu. The pasta dish was even worse. In my entire dining experience I have never sent a dish back but considering our bad run with the restaurant that evening, we needed to say something. Our waitress was kind enough to send the dish back and have them re-make the dish dish that was too salty and cold. We were told that the dish is quite salty due to the cheese that is used to make the dish, however it would be nice to have our feedback taken into consideration when the dish was remade. When the second version came out, we tasted the exact same dish, only it was lukewarm instead of cold.
Although the service wasn’t as prompt as we would have liked, we do understand that it was for NYE dinner service. The couple dining next to us ordered the pork chop dish and did not take long to be served to them. This makes us question the quality of the service provided for us.
Love it here.
21 Greenpoint was more than helpful with our dinner date. My boyfriend has celiac disease and they ended up marking up the menu of what he can and can not before we even got there! It was amazing customer service and the food was INCREDIBLE. We can’t wait to go back again very soon!!
Food was great, service was great, they ran out of three types of alcohol we asked for on a Sunday afternoon. That seems weird... but we found other things to drink.
Food was ok. The short rib was not a tender as it should have been and pricey. Portions were small. Dessert was good.
delicious food and very accommodating!
This restaurant was nothing special. We were a party of three and one of us received our entrée (the burger) way after the other two. They had finished before the third plate arrived. It seemed as if they had forgotten to put it in because how long does it take to cook a burger? The waitress apologized and asked if I wanted her to pay for my entrée or a dessert. I felt awkward answering which one I wanted especially because she said she would pay for it (out of her own pocket?) She should have just done either, not asked me. And really, management shouldn't make employees pay for mistakes. The food was mediocre and we all agreed there was really no reason to return to this restaurant.
Everything was wonderful. I had to fly into town for a funeral and was able to get a table that was a convenient time for my visit. The service and food was outstanding. Glad Greenpoint has expanded its horizons!
This was a great place to grab brunch with my friends. Fair pricing, high quality, beautiful ambiance! Played Frank Sinatra.
The services was not good. It took a very long time to get food and then when we did get it, it was luke-warm. Cauliflower Soup was tasteless and s’mores calzone was way to overpriced for what it was. Will not be going back and had high expectations given the >4.5 OpenTable rating.
We had a great time at 21. I guess we had higher exceptions food wise. Also we discovered that there was a wine list by the bottle after we ordered from the food menu's beverage section which was limited. That is why I have rated 3 star to the service. The servers were nice and pro besides the wine list issue :)
The restaurant is beautiful, we were happy to have diner at the back, because it was less noisy.
Took our son there for father's birthday. Food was delicious, yet affordable. We are from the suburbs of Philadelphia so we got a great dose of local flavor, local vibe and the food accommodated a meat and potatoes preference to vegetarian. The atmosphere was lively, yet not jumpy. Casually chic without feeling curated.
Great all around experience.
2nd time dining and I wish it was the 20th time. The place has a lovely vibe and attentive service. The food was again fantastic. We had the pizza which is so tasty and fresh. The steak was melt in the mouth. Very highly recommended.
Great atmosphere and good service but my $29 steak was so tough it was almost inedible and covered in hollandause sauce which shouldn’t be necessary or should be optional.
The noise level was so high you could hardly hear your dining companion mainly due to the volume of music which forces everyone to speak louder.
Love this place. The interior is so creatively designed -all the better to enjoy the outstanding food in a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended. Will be back as soon as possible!
This was the third time we were there. We ordered the venison tartar and mussels as our appetizers. The venison was delicious but it came with only two small pieces of bread and we didn't have enough bread to spread the venison. At the end when we ate the tartar by itself it was too salty. An additional piece of bread would make the venison perfect. The Mussels were fresh and good. We had the steak and the pork chop for our entree and they didn't disappoint. Overall a nice meal with good quality food and fair price. It will be nice if there is a table cloth. I felt the table was not clean so I was afraid to put my utensils on the table.
Overall, a great vibe, friendly service and delicious food. I had a going away dinner party here for 12 people and we were all really pleased. Also, order the bone marrow!! Life changing. The steak was just okay.
Disappointed by the food (Homer’s burger), they offer us a good amaro. We read good reviews and we expect a better experience
21Greenpoint is an absolute go-to for me and my husband; we love bringing out-of-towners in for a cozy meal, a well-balanced cocktail, and a solid good vibe. It's a great way to give them a feel of the neighborhood while making sure to hit the spot when it comes to food + drink. We love the ambiance and the easy-going but knowledgable staff--this is truly a must for friends in the hood or anyone visiting Greenpoint. We love you, 21GP!
Superb gluten-free pancakes: Light and delicious. Tasty toast with glazed balsamic vinegar. Cool decor . Lovely waitress. Music was way too loud when we entered, but they graciously lowered it when we asked.
Will definitely go back.
Had a lovely time as a result of a friend’s recommendation to try 21Greenpoint. Small and friendly spot with diverse menu. Full bar and nice background music
Good spot to go with a small or larger group. Limited reservations -offer walk-in tables. Service was helpful and top notch-good recommendations. Looking forward to reward to return.
The salmon salad and cobbler dessert were the best things I tasted. And wow were they good. The Chicken Schnitzel was not schnitzel and was a bit bland. The roasted garlic pizza was just okay. The wait staff was really awesome and the cocktails were good, as well as the wine.
The food was unbelievable good.
One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Our server was fun and knowledgeable and the ambiance is great! And the best part was that you didn’t have to shout in order to be heard, the noise level was just right. We will definitely be back.
21 Greenpoint is a friendly, charming restaurant with excellent food. We thoroughly enjoyed our brunch there!
Went there for the first time with my wife this past week. Great night with a very fun waitress. Would definitely recommend. Will be going back.
Good atmosphere, great cocktails. Food was hit and miss. It was about 10000 degrees in the restaurant. Over all a fun place for a lively dinner.
Great, friendly staff. Great, simple food. Awesome drinks from awesome bartenders. Cool location near the water which makes for a nice post-meal walk. Will be back for sure.
Good music and ever better food, Homer for the win!
