We love 21 Club! Visit NYC once per year, always start a trip with dinner at the Club! Food, service, ambiance great!
A lovely meal in a unique setting. The smoked salmon was delicious as was the filet mignon. The crabmeat was good but not very filling. I had raved to my hubby about the wonderful rice pudding only to find out it was no longer on the menu. It put a big damper on the meal...bring it back please.
I would recommend this as a great place for a special occasion.
This was the first time we had taken our son to 21. He works as a professional baker and has been in the food service for many years. We were all impressed with the drinks and the food, especially the wine. We were never rushed, but were always able to attract the attention of a waiter when we needed one. It was a little pricier than we remembered, but I guess we can chalk that up to NYC?
21 Club has the classic feel of a 20's speakeasy with a relaxed atmosphere. The memorabilia hanging from the ceiling was fascinating. Salmon was delicious as was the rest of the meal. Their wine list is very extensive but there is a good selection of moderately priced wines also. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely return to the 21 Club and highly recommend it to others.
We were in NYC and wanted a special dinner, so my friend and I went here. The service is FANTASTIC -- they know exactly when you need something and are so friendly and thank you for coming. Excellent hospitality -- the food is pricy, but so unique and good! The Lemon Pie is the hands down BEST lemon pie I've EVER had. I had the Lamb Bolognese and it was unique and flavorful -- definitely an anniversary/date/splurge meal that was worth it.
I hadn't been back to 21 for decades, but my daughter, a student of prohibition era speakeasies, really wanted to go to celebrate her college graduation. We had a wonderful time. The food has improved enormously, so along with the always excellent burgers and oysters, which I remembered, the entrees were also uniformly delicious. But what really made the occasion was the warm welcome and gracious service. The only downside was a very very noisy table of roaring men in suits--but I suppose that's part of the tradition as well.
Best lamb chops ever
Always a great happiness for myself and my guests. Still on top in every way!
Excellent service getting us in and out in time for the theater!
The grill room at the 21 Club has a special ambiance and lots of good memories. Since our previous visit, there has been a change that is a big mistake. When our Caesar salads arrived, they were served in large white bowls. That's not the classy look and feel that 21 should present to its guests. Get rid of the large white bowls and go back to attractive china plates with the 21 logo.
I brought my parents here while they were visiting me in NYC and they absolutely loved their experience. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was exactly what they were looking for.
It’s been a while since I’ve eaten there. Sometimes it’s good that some things don’t change. The service was warm yet just formal enough. The menu offered a nice range of choices; all of which were quite good. My rabbit saddle dish was not the most flavorful I have had, but that’s a personal taste. Be sure to plan plenty of time for dinner, as the service is pleasantly leisurely and unhurried. However, I heard guests seated near us (and after us) mention their theatre plans. They seemed to have been accommodated and departed before we did. Overall it was a delight - an expensive splurge for out-of-towners, but quite enjoyable.
Very atmospheric restaurant with good food and good service
We try to go every time we are in NYC. We had an absolutely fantastic meal! Service, ambiance, food, drinks all as good as it gets. They cannot be nicer or more accommodating to our 5 year old. If I lived in NY I’d be there all the time! Love it!
21 is always a treat. Chauncey, John and so many others make it the special experience it continues to be. Great service. Great food. Great!
Amazing professionals here. Service, food, atmosphere was classic New York!
The ‘21’ Club continues to provide amazing ambience, exceptional service, and the food was absolutely delicious. From the moment you walk in until the moment you leave, there is no of the restaurant that take such wonderful care of you.
The revamped venue is as good as ever. Place looks fantastic with the fixes made due to the flood.
I would normally give the food a 5-star rating, however, the lamb was overcooked, which when brought to the waiter's attention they offered an immediate replacement. I highly recommend the 21-Club, for quality food and sterling service and will eat there again on my next visit.
delighted that 21 has returned and still maintains the exceptionally high standard that it is renowned for. Brilliant service and lovely food
Long time visitor of 21 Club. A gem. Bartender and ambiance great. Table service though was a bit stuffy and missed several chances to ask if we wanted additional drinks - oops!
Reserved this restaurant months in advance so that I can celebrate my mom's birthday. She was traveling to New York from Korea. What I got in return for my early planning was an abrupt email that the restaurant will be closed on the day of my reservation. No compensation for the inconvenience caused whatsoever. They should have at least provided some kind of discount for future visit, etc. I already told my mom that we will be going to this restaurant where almost all former presidents have dined and that it will be fantastic. Mom's birthday has been ruined. Very disappointing.
After 10 years, we traveled from SF to NYC for the old classic school historical experience of 21 club. Starting from the matridees, who had three different staff asking us what is our name and our reservation without communicating to each other at all, then the 6 feet white hairs likely middle eastern in charge matridee finally told us there is nothing he can do. We asked if he got any change to read our special condition in Open Table, he shuck his shoulder and said there is no opening except the bar, or upstairs. I truly want my husband have a special experience after such a long recovery, so I paid this “ white hair” 6 feet Charge matradee cash under the table, so he is willing to arrange a table against the bar for us. It is really sad how we try hard to fly cross the country to bring some of nice old memory for him and 21 club become so commercialized and unhumanized ....
Another fantastic dining experience. Service was efficient and attentive as always and food was delicious. Particularly notable dishes include tuna tartare, crab cake, chicken hash, burger and truffle Mac n cheese. Looking forward to a return soon.
Meal was disappointing. Caesar salad offered without anchovies. Realize nobody does tableside Caesar anymore but the presentation was poor. Table bread was grilled sandwich bread. Porterhouse for two should be sizzling on the platter - was just warm. Soufflé was presented but I had to explain to the adjacent table how to open the top and pour in the sauce - same issue with mine. Service was attentive without being sophisticated. Granted it was New Years Eve and I expect they were trying for three seatings in lieu of two but sadly wasn’t worth the price.
We knew we were in trouble when the doorman couldn’t find the door and the waiter asked if we wanted to be seated after waiting 10 minutes. We didn’t get the specials just what do you want to drink? Bread came with something strange to put on it and it was several days old. For starters my wife had smoked salmon which was not cooked or smoked and sent it back. I had the worst escargot which wasn’t. My wife had a salad for the main course an I had the duck which was under cooked, cold and I would say not a duck or if it was it was a very big one per the large slices. Service was slow and sloppy, but we eventually got desert which was ok, hard to mess that up. Living in NYC this is the worst we have seen living on maybe their fame for making a movie there and all the junk on the ceiling. Cheers and Happy New Year 2018- never again at the 21.
Excellent experience. Amazing food and staffs!!!!
I love 21 Club. It has a feel of country club and city sophistication. Indulging wine list and can't go wrong with the menu.
It was my first time at 21 Club and I have to say it lives up to the hype. I went for the classics, a Caesar salad and their creamy chicken hash, which were both lovely and flavorful. I was too full for dessert but I do hope to come back for what looked like a mouthwatering tomahawk or some other choice beef cut to share---or maybe this burger I've heard so much about. The service was excellent and the staff attentive. I especially liked how each person I asked had something to add to the story of this historical establishment in the city.
The steak tartare is the BEST I have ever had. Great staff!!!
One the Best classic restaurants in Manhattan. The 21 club is elegant and classy all in one. The bar and food was absolutely incredible and recommend this establishment to
anyone going or visiting NYC.
A 5* evening!
Loved it. The history, the clientele, the staff, the food and the ambiance are incredible.
A lovely, classy, historical, elegant place to dine!
This is my favorite restaurant in the city. The food is delicious, but it's the service that truly cannot be beat - impeccable. Attentive, friendly and helpful without ever being pushy.
Wonderful staff, food and setting!
The food is just ok. The history of the building and service was great.
We were visiting NYC for our wedding anniversary, and we went to lunch here, since my bridal shower was held there, thought it would be nice to revisit. I was disappointed at the service, the waiter never came by to check on us and never even asked how things were, very disappointed.
Fishy smelling seafood tower. Waiter left us. Baked Alaska looked like manufactured by Hostess.
Dress code is enforced. Service excellent...Food terrific somewhat pricey...glass of Pinot Grigio was mediocre...waiter spent some time giving us the history of all the memorabilia and toys on the ceiling...it was fun.
