First time eating at “21 Club” but not my last! My pre-lunch cocktail at the bar was a fun way to start things off and the food was made with healthy ingredients and tasted wonderful.
Started by sitting near bar for a drink and their snacks. Service wonderful. Snacks replenished before half empty. John and Chauncey took great care of us during the meal. Not rushed at all during our meal. Will definitely return. Great place to have a special date or birthday celebration.
Loved it! I booked for my husbands birthday and we travelled from the UK. WE were not disappointed.
Service and attention to detail were amazing as always.
One of the great NYC experiences
If you want good food surrounded by powerful people who still wear jackets (as all gentlemen should), this is the place.
Excellent staff, great atmosphere and delicious food
What a fabulous night! The service, food and ambience was first class. It was a night in New York we will not forget.
It was great! Food delicious, waitstaff efficient, wine wonderful, a legendary restaurant worth experiencing.
Iron clad service, excellent food and atmosphere only available at 21 Club, old school New York at its best.
Great dining experience for my wife’s birthday. Service was top notch and food was amazing. Had the crab cake, escargot, filet mignon and lamb chops - all were awesome.
Wonderful evening and friendly diners around us.
The only thing better than the food was the impeccable service...STILL top notch. A New York icon that’s still on top of its game!
Have been here a number of times over the years. Definitely a classic NY experience. A bit pricey for what you get but good food and excellent drinks. The perfect place to take someone who you want to have an experience.
Last trip we were disappointed that the server messed up our bit and tagged us for a $120 for the birthday cake of a table nearby. My wife caught the error on the bill. Something like this should never happen in a restaurant of this caliber.
Perfect way to celebrate a milestone or if you just desire feeling ridiculously special for an eve. 21 Club is why New York is New York.
In a landmark location, an interesting room, I consider this a tourist attraction and that was mainly the clientele. The food was actually very good though, but the whole ambiance was not what we expected for our anniversary.
We visited here Saturday, January 5th, 2019 to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Service was slow but they were busy so I can understand that. The only issue I had was that my salmon was served and it was on the cool side so I asked our waiter to please just warm it up a bit in the microwave. He seemed offended but took my plate. 15 minutes later he returned with a brand new entree (what a waste - I had hardly touched my food before I sent it back). Unfortunately, this was also not very warm and I don't like to eat my salmon cold. I didn't say anything but his attitude afterwards was quite unfriendly. My wedge salad was excellent. My husband said his $60 steak was "fair" but it was cooked rare like he asked. Seems a bit pretentious and stuffy - just not our style.
Always an enjoyable experience
One of the best Dover Sole entrees!! And, perfect Old Fashioned. Yum!!
Always wonderful in every way...
Perfect restaurant for you if you like poor service, disgusting food and old atmosphere !
Loved the ‘private club’ feel 😀
I made a reservation for my birthday and Andres was amazing serving us. Definetly a great place, thank you!
The service was perfect and the food was wonderful! It was the highlight of our trip to NYC.
Food has gone down hill...the chicken hash was bland and unseasoned. It's my goto dish for the last 20 years. Disappointing.
We can check the 21 club box in life and move on, many other restaurants in NYC who’s waiters are ready to please. Most of the staff was spectacular (Valter was wonderful), it just takes one terrible waiter to ruin a $500 meal. So in reality i don’t want to demean the entire restaurant, we unfortunately had a bad experience because of one pompous waiter.
We love this restaurant and the fact that they have a dress code that requires men to wear jackets. It sets the tone for an excellent dining experience and makes it special. I had a great birthday dinner here and look forward to coming back many more times!!
Fantastic service and outstanding food. Staff was very conscientious about us making our show.
Our group of friends has been coming from across the country to 21 for ten years, and it's been consistently one of our annual highlights. When they heard we were celebrating our tenth annual gathering, they brought out complimentary desserts. So thoughtful. The atmosphere, charm, and consideration of this place are unbeatable, so we'll be continuing this tradition for years to come!
One of the last remaining great old New York City traditions. The food is always the best in NYC and the service is just what you would expect from this NYC institution. I've been dining here for 40 years and it gets better every year. The wine list is amazing and the menu changes with the seasons while retaining all the 21 Club Classics.
This is a very classy place so dress well, mind your manners, and I encourage you to ask your Captain and Sommelier (Phil) for suggestions.
Great time good food wonderful atmosphere, definite go back!
Very tight squeeze. We basically sat with another family that had lots to catch up on. Main course came out before appetizer and we saw the food go back to the kitchen while the appetizer came out. Same food luckwarm returned to the table 30 minutes later. It was not as I’d expected considering the rave reviews and need for men to wear a jacket. It was just a small restaurant with nothing special except the need for a jacket and prices are high. The $27 quarter size crab cake was delicious. We ordered drinks after dinner but they never came so we took the check. It left little to be desired.
21club feel and ambience is old word charm meets modern dining. The cute ceiling hanging toys take you back to your childhood memories of growing up and the wood panels, white glove service and checkered dining cloth remind you of old school formal dining. It’s the perfect balance and an anachronistic dichotomy pulled off well to make you comfortable and fuzzy the entire time
Sergio at the bar poured a great rye whiskey old fashioned and was very friendly and attentive.
Dining room setting had a great ambiance. Food was excellent and again the wait staff was highly attentive.
Worth the price for a special evening.
What can I say more. Been going here for years when I am in NYC. Can't beat the service and ambiance . My NYC favorite.
Great service et food.
Will definitely return.
Excellent in every way. Monkfish was fantastic.
Couldn’t have been better.
My partner and I are in our 80s, both widowed. In the 1990s Peggy had lived on Park Ave and often Couldn’t have been better.
My partner and I are in our 80s, both widowed. In the 1990s Peggy had lived on Park Ave and often frequented the 21 Club. She hadn’t been there for over 20 years. I had been at the Club in the 90s, but for a wedding luncheon in a private room. Never in the restaurant. We both now live in Greenwich.
This lunch was part of Peggy’s Christmas present.
Returning to old haunts is risky, but in this case it was perfect. The food was excellent (raviolo appetizer perhaps a little small but delicious) and rest very very good. May I compliment you on the freshness of your pepper, which even in fine restaurants is stale. Little things mean a lot. Service just right. We especially liked being in the side-by-side tables, so we could talk easily.
Good food nice feeling of fun
Great service and great food. They’re always very hospitable.
