We went there for restaurant week and I am glad it was for restaurant week. I don't think the food worth the regular price and the hype. The lamb Bolognese is tasteless and the chocolate is very dry. I am not sure if it will be better with the regular menu, but if it's the same quality, it's kind of sad. The bread is good and, the service is excellent though.
The iconic 21 Club is just as you would expect; graciously formal with warm hospitality. Quiet, subdued, impeccable service and food.
The service was exceptional and it was a very fun old pub atmosphere.
Fantastic place. Thank you for taking such good care of us.
The 21 Club is a historic restaurant. The interior has both a traditional lounge area and an unusual downstairs dining room with hundreds of items hanging from the ceiling. It's spacious and comfortable. The food and service are very good. Jackets are required for men. It's a unique dining experience. We were able to take advantage of their Restaurant Week menu which was a good deal.
After doing extensive research on this location, I learned about its history throughout the prohibition era. I was immediately enticed to see what a renowned establishment with such background history had to offer.
The overall setup and ambiance was nice. I appreciate the lounge/bar area. The service was great. However I was very disappointed with the quality of food. My guest and I had the smoked salmon, lamb, truffle Mac and cheese, cream of spinach and the strawberry sundae.
The truffle Mac and cheese had the most flavor which was actually very good. The main courses were sub par. I expected something better from such an establishment. But for the price of restaurant week ($42), I cannot complain but I would not recommend or return to this place.
Excellent in every respect! Look forward to returning soon.
The special for restaurant should have included dessert
Kind of sad rest week menu. Had chicken which was hard. How do you overcook chicken thighs. Clearly it was under a heat lamp.
Always great at 21 Club. Slightly underwhelmed by smoked salmon appetiser but this was Restaurant Week menu so understand limitation for chef within his GP.
I could be guest of the restaurant during a summer Restaurant Week, in the bar room.
I loved the table facing the room for both the guests; the ambiance is particular, given by the custom ceiling and the old style furniture.
Lamb bolognese was very well done, said by an italian, and also desserts were amazing. Correct portions, accurate service; I would like to come back again if only it was not so expensive during the rest of the year.
Jacket required for men; air conditioned at a decent level (not too cold).
21 Club is worth viewing alone. The restaurant is stunning and it feels extremely prestigious, but the food did not meet expectations. Dishes were cold and tasteless. I was very surprised by the lack of attentiveness from the wait staff as well. I was in good company so I had a good time but for the money that you are expected to spend there, it was not worth it.
We went for Restaurant Week Lunch. The service was impeccable and interior decor was worth visiting by itself. Food was very good and the pricing of wine by glass was $9-10 which was extremely generous. I recommend this place.
We went expecting a special time and we had to wave down the waiter multiple times to get menus, drinks and to order. It was very strange. Wasn’t that busy either. Kind of disappointing over all experience
21 is my go to restaurant when I am in NYC. Since the early 90’s it is one of my favorite top five in the world. Consistent service and food never disappoint. Phil, the sommelier, is just fantastic
Amazing overall, Professional and flawless. Quiet competence and hit it out of the park
My husband and I had a great time dining at this restaurant. We were greeted right away and the kitschy decor inside was very fun to look at. There were many servers that were very attentive making sure our glasses were never empty and not leaving our empty plates on the table for too long. I had the Faroe Island Salmon and my husband had the Lamb Bolognese. Both were very delicious as well as the strawberry sundae and chocolate cake for dessert. We had a late dinner so the place wasn't overly packed and was a nice romantic date for the two of us. I definitely recommend to visit this historic place!
Excellent service. 70’s vibe. I loved it!
Honestly, not that special.
Food was very good. Service was not rushed.
Solid place and a must see - I like it when the best restaurants in the City participate in Restaurant week and 21 Club even adds the very reasonably priced wine selections! No hesitations going back for the full price version - great place for a group ! Well done !
Food was overpriced and uninspired. It’s no wonder grannies love this place.
The 21 Club is always a great experience, especially for men.
Unimpressed with the food
my friend and I had a wonderful evening at 21 Club. The staff and service was gracious - we first were seated at a table we did not care for and were quickly accommodated to another table. At first we have very noise neighbors, who luckily soon left. The food and wine was all delicious, the service very friendly.
Wonderful service and exquisite food. I will be back.
The best Restaurant Week lunch I have ever had. It was a wonderful experience, both for myself and for my guest, who was from Tokyo.
Celebrating Leo Season and my husband’s birthday and the evening was amazing. The food and service were fantastic
It was wonderful....food was perfect, as it always is!
Restaurant week visit went very well. Great service and good food. A little too quiet and almost somber mood. Great value with the promotion.
Excellent restaurant for lunch with friends. Attentive, friendly staff. The food was very good. I had the lentil with bacon soup and the salmon. I would go again.
This was a visit of dear friends. Płace was nearly empty. Excellent service and very special Bloody Mary.
I liked the soup (lentil and bacon) and the baked salmon with potatoes. Great time with my friend here. Will keep in mind of their strict dress code for next time.
All is good except the service is so so. You can tell the servers/waiters have been working there for a long time, they have attitude, they just do their work without enthusiasm. One of waiters dropped a utensil on my back, he didn't even say sorry. And also probably due to the Restaurant Week, they added many extra tables to meet the crowd, so the spaces between tables are narrow, it's not easy to walk around, once you are sit, it's better not to move around.
Excellent enjoyed my choice
Love the place
It is elegant
The food is Ok not great but one goes there for the ambiance but
The service was decent but the food was not flavorful. It was bland and very disappointing.
We went to 20 Club during Restaurant Week. The food was beyond bad. It was dreadful. The 21 Ceasar salad was wilted and tasteless. The Coq au Vin was close to inedible. The Lamb Bolognese was a small bowl of pasta with a dreary sauce. The Restaurant Week menu is a ripoff. Perhaps the food is better if one does not order from the restaurant week menu. But we will never know. We'll never be back.
Average rest with unique decor.
