Such a treat!
Excellent food and service. The 21 Club is an excellent place for a romantic dinner. The noise level was low and the staff allow us to really enjoy ourselves.
Great time, food was very good and price was better than anticipated. Was in between shows and they timed the meal perfectly based on our times. It did not seem rushed and did get us out comfortably on time.
Valentine’s Day. We arrived early and had a drink at the bar then went upstairs to the dining room for a fixed price dinner. Very good experience.
An excellent experience. Food and service were exceptional.
Pre-theater dining at 21 was perfect. Diners can choose between the special prix fixe menu or a la carte. Waiters are helpful and offer great wine suggestions. Everything is delicious! Make sure you get an order of 21’s potato puffs!
Went with my wife for Valentine’s Day and she loved everything about the place and the service!
Obviously a NY institution and very much an interesting place to dine, if only for the ambiance and history. The Valentine's Day Prix Fixe was underwhelming and over priced for the experience. One of the oysters served was rancid, however our waiter promptly replaced it without question which speaks to their service. The Sommelier either had a sense of humor I didn't understand, or was making me inferior and incompetent for sport. You can go for a beer and the burger or just a cocktail at the bar to "get the gist of it" but don't blow the bank on this one.
We were seated at a quiet table as requested. Food and service were excellent—some of the best we’ve ever received dining anywhere else in New York City. A memorable meal to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Great restaurant ‘ service ‘ food ’ atmosphere fantastic!)
Impeccable service loved every minute of it.
We dine at "21" every trip to New York, and have been doing so for nearly 30 years. Things have changed a bit in that time (they no longer prepare the steak tartare table-side and the bananas Foster is no longer flambéed) but the attention and the food are always the best. Thank you Aaron and Fabio for another wonderful dining experience.
Everything was great except I informed them before hand it was my wife's 40th birthday and they forgot to do anything at end. Not a major deal but that was only negative. Everything else great. Great historic restaurant.
I don’t know if Restaurant Week gets you cheaper quality dishes but the main was definitely not at the level of my expectations.
I love the movie All About Eve & have always wanted to visit the 21 Club...so for our anniversary we went and had an amazing time!!!!
THE ABSOLUTE BEST DINNER experience we had during our girlfriends weekend away. Thank you so much for going above and beyond and making our trip so memorable! We loved everything about 21 club!
I had such a good meal...it was from the restaurant week menu but will go back and try the regular one...the staff were so attentive and room was mesmerizing..a true find.
Great food, drinks, and service. Haven’t been at 21 Club for too long - this wonderful evening reminded us what we’ve always loved about it. Time to become a regular again!
Great food in a great, quirky and quintessential New York environment. The Baked Alaska is a must and potentially the best dessert I have ever had.
Great place for special occasion! The service is attentive and the food is even better.
I go to the 21 a few times a year and this last time the food was spot on! The steak fantastic.
Went for lunch for the 1st time and loved the experience. Staff made me feel very welcomed, dined alone. Dover sole, excellent. Crab cake appetizer, excellent, but wish the portion was greater. Dessert, cheescake, excellent. Overall, a very warm, hospitable afternoon, with a wonderful well experienced staff. Next time, dinner.
Lunch at 21 is always flawless! The service is impeccable and the food never disappoints.
I can't believe 21 Club is an upscale restaurant. Food was not tasty. The price was pretty high but the quality and the presentation of foods were so bad. Never ever go back and don't recommend to my family and friends. I regretted to bring my friends to 21 Club for dinner. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid this restaurant.
We weren't impressed with the restaurant week menu or the preparation of the panna cotta and pork loin. The chicken was very good. Enjoyed the bar and drinks. Would return to the bar for drinks but not to the restaurant.
Overall my visit on Wed 9 Feb was a positive experience except my initial impression due to the bartender -pre dinner drink was a negative start. I stood at one end of the bar waiting for a drink while he was at the far end just talking with two other gentlemen at the bar. I tried to get his attention but no luck. I then walked to the opposite end where he was chatting with the gentlemen and I asked if I could order two drinks. He continued his conversation and just handed me me a drink menu with no eye contact and again continued talking with the other men. I had to interrupt their conversation to order a drink. As the bartender was making my drink he continued his conversation and treated me as he was doing me a favor. He pushed the two drinks in my direction and not even giving me a cocktail napkin. initial impression was not good. The rest of the evening was extremely enjoyable.
$27 for a glass of no name Cabernet for.
a $42 set menu? Ridiculous.
We ate downstairs (not "upstairs") and this restaurant did not meet our expectations on many different levels:
1.) Tables are so close together that when getting into/out of a table your derriere is pointed right at the table guests next to you. Needless to say, with such tight quarters one cannot have any sense of privacy during your meal.
2.) Service was efficient, but there was not a smile to be seen anywhere. No introduction or welcome whatsoever. Evidently they save their pleasantries for only the regulars or VIPs.
3.) Food - we tried their restaurant week menu which had a nice choice for all three courses that were offered. The quality of the food was good, but portions were miniscule (even by restaurant week standards).
4.) The value proposition of dining at this restaurant is very poor.
It is clear to us that this restaurant lives off it's storied past. For me, however, it does not have a future with regards to my preferred dining choices. It is certainly not a restaurant I could confidently recommend to friends and clients.
A comfortable, classy and reliable experience. The beer menu was limited and disappointing, and was more interesting on previous visits.
The restaurant week menu and service were great. Caesar salad and goat cheese ravioli were scrumptious as was the coq au vin and salmon entrees. Though noise level was a little high it is always exciting and fun to dine in this historic venue.
I relocated to NY from London and had heard much a buzz about this place. This probably set a preconceived expectations that were unrealistic when I visited in person. I personally did not think the food was Michelin standard (having sampled Michelin restaurants in London and Paris), but the service was very amicable. Prices were very high and did not reflect the actual quality of the food/drinks. It was simply expensive for the sake of being so. Again, service was good, but not to the level hyped about. Overall, I’m happy to cross this off my list and move on!
Five girlfriends went out for dinner at 21 Club. We started with in the bar with delicious martinis and a great service. We then went into the crazy wonderful dining room for dinner. Our wait staff was excellent and fun. A great evening.
I very much liked the appetizer. Did not care for the chicken thigh. I enjoyed the cream cheese with strawberries and white wine.
Un assez mauvais rapport qualité/prix, dans l’ensemble.
Les 3 plats sont expédiés en une heure maximum.
The entire experience was wonderful including the bottle of Vueve my sister had called to arrange to be sent to our table upon arrival. It’s fun to see staff that have been there for years. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
I always make a point to visit 21 Club for Restaurant Week and I've never been disappointed. Extraordinary service from every staff member, classic NY atmosphere and food that is both elegant and unpretentious. Plus, the PERFECT Manhattan cocktail!
When I saw that the 21 club was participating in "Restaurant Week" I was determined to fulfill my NYC bucket list wish. I had always wanted to go since I saw the movie classic "All About Eve" starring the incomparable Betty Davis as there was a scene shot in the 21 Club. It's comforting to know that the iconic, century old establishment is living up to its 5-star reputation. Everything was sublime --- from the velvety potato-leek soup to the beyond fresh, perfectly chilled east coast oysters as well as the lightly dressed, vibrant simple mesclun salad greens. The coq au vin was as complex as a naughty love affair. The New York style cheesecake with flavorful strawberries was made all more memorable with the side of decadent, whipped cream I spooned into my frothy rich cappuccino. I will be back!
Lovely relaxing tasty lunch in unusual surroundings. Staff are very attentive and as it was Winter Week we were able to select the fixed price menu and treated ourselves to wine and a dessert, which we normally would not have at midday. All together a memorable experience.
Had to wait for 15 min for my reserved table. Portions are not big but the food is tasty. The ambiance is interesting)
While the food is consistently good; there was a substitution to the entree with no explanation; the server seemed to lack interest in our party. Also, took forever to get a drink at the bar before before my lunch companion appeared. All other personnel were their usual outstanding selves. Not my best experience here, but will continue to recommend; hoping this was an anomaly.
