Farm-To-Table

In 1852 the McCormack family raised cattle on a homestead property located 3.5 miles south of Marion, Illinois. Time-honored traditions represent one reason why the 20's Hideout Steakhouse chose to purchase this historic location in 2014 to establish its own Black Angus beef cattle operation. Today, the production methods used guarantee the highest quality 21-day aged USDA processed beef which is made available as cuts of the day from Hideout's farm-to-table menu. With an emphasis on the highest quality, these hormone and antibiotic free selections are hand cut daily. Ask your server which premium cuts of farm-to-table beef are available today. Nice dinner to kick off the holiday weekend! We both enjoyed the seasonal margarita, house salad, Dolled Up Pasta, chocolate cake. The pasta is one of my very favorite seafood pastas- love the generous chunks of seafood, fresh diced tomatoes and scallions on top. (Enjoyed leftovers for a nice lunch as portions are too much for one meal for most people). Server Angel-Beth (I think that was her name?) was excellent— friendly and attentive, checked on us at just the right times. Absolutely LOVE the live piano music. Such an elegant touch. Thank you!

Everything was perfect! Our reservation asked for the piano area and for our favorite server Angelbeth and we were sat in a perfectly sized booth in the section we asked for and AngelBeth gave us the exceptional service that she has mastered over the years! Our steaks were cooked perfectly I ordered a Pittsburgh Rare and it was perfect Angelbeth suggested crab cake for my business associate and she raved that they were some of the best she has eaten ( she is from the east coast) cocktails were great and we chose a few bourbons from their list before dinner and we were very pleased that the manager Augustine recommended a beautiful bottle of Cabernet we loved it so much we ordered two! This was a great touch as I had never really talked with the manager, and he was superior. This is a top-notch family owned restaurant that is unique into itself. I highly recommend this place. It’s the best in all of southern Illinois.

Our server spilt tea on my son. Then she ordered us different food then what we ordered. Then blamed it on the kitchen. Didn’t bring out my husbands soup and then said to make it write she spoke to the manager and they gave us a free cup of soup. Then when we got the bill she made us pay for the food we didn’t order and the food we got.

Celebrated my husband’s birthday and it was a great experience. Angelbeth made everything perfect her suggestions were right on! From start to finish excellent service food and atmosphere and even a chocolate cake to enjoy which they provided for free! Perfect Valentines dinner. We shared the mushroom appetizer and we LOVE that horseradish BBQ sauce it comes with. My wife enjoyed the chicken Alfredo and I had the steak & crab cake combo. My steak was cooked perfectly. I tell everyone I know that this place has the best crab cake I have ever had. TONS of crab an no filler. Shared the chocolate cake for dessert. Our server was great and always came back to check on us and bring refills. I wish I could remember his name!

This was a date night for me and my wife. I chose 20s hide out because of its reputation, live piano playing for a nice, romantic atmosphere. I didn’t really get the nice romantic atmosphere because of the noise level. We could hear the piano, but not like I was expecting, it’s been several years since we’ve eaten here. I don’t remember it being that noisy before. The food was good but I expected better for the price. My wife had the mahi-mahi and I had the salmon. Both were good, but I have had better. I also had the green beans which weren’t very good at all. They taste like they were just picked from the garden and warmed up a little bit. the crabcake was our appetizer and it was really good. Our server wasn’t very friendly. She wasn’t rude, but she acted like she was just going through the motions. We ordered unsweet tea and originally received unsweet tea. When our server refilled our tea I specifically stated we had unsweet tea, but she refilled it with a sweet tea. She also spilled the tea while she was refilling it which is not a big deal except for the fact that she just said oops and walked away. She never offered to clean it up or get us a towel so we used every napkin we had to soak it up and it was still wet.

From start to finish our experience was PERFECT! We had brought flowers ahead of our reservation to surprise our wives and asked to be seated near the piano, when we arrived our table looked great and our request was honored. We were greeted and felt sincerely welcomed by the girl seating us. From the start our server Angelbeth was absolutely AWESOME! Her knowledge of the menu and the restaurant’s history was impressive. She introduced Holly the piano player which made it easy for us to request songs and we loved it!! Our specialty bar drinks and wine was very good as well. Angelbeth did not disappoint with her suggestion on the farm to table ribeyes great flavors, beautifully seared tender and juicy highly recommend trying I had the 18oz loaded potato wife had seafood pasta no fillers as Angelbeth told us previously filled with lobster and crab it was fantastic. We took home dessert and leftovers and enjoyed them the following day. We highly recommend this hidden gem and ANGELBETH
